Chapter 15

Both Nori and Evi made their way through the large halls, yet again Evi was just following Nori everywhere because she particularly had no idea where to go. However, she couldn't help but look everywhere in this amazing castle. All that was going on here was the ancient history that Evi had only learned about, mostly and probably in school and from her family. But now she is a part of history now. And could be in the future as well. And as new as it was, it was also that she did not know whether to celebrate it or just let it, fear this all. Because sinking in had become rather difficult for her. Everything was too much to take, and too much to just sink in. It did not seem like a normal word anymore. Immediately they both walked up the stairs. Right in front of them there was a main door and closed, and there stood two guards, standing on either side. And the moment they both walked up, the guards were alarmed by this, and they pushed the doors open for both Nori and the Queen, not making any eye contact with either one of them. Yet again, this was terrifying to her and she didn't even know how to feel about that. Evi was rather awkward but she was in a higher title now. It just felt awkward to say that word out loud, even though that was that truth. And once the doors was opened, Nori walked in and the queen followed right behind. Gracefully as Evi walked into the big hall, and yet again chandeliers "check", paintings "check", pillars and statues "check", everything that was surrounded everywhere in the castle there, was there as well. But this room looked very terrific and marvelous. The table right in the middle was larger than life. Evi had been through so much with her family, and now seeing everything so much bigger and brighter, she actually missed the time they had a small dinner together. Evi felt a sharp punch in her stomach as she thought about them. It as hard, and she knew why, this time. Evi did not know what just happened to her, but at the thought of those dinner, it all suddenly came to her. And something started to change inside of her almost as if she was going to cry. Because the images of her brothers, of her best friend and mostly her parents eating together suddenly came to her. They might all were having dinner without her, and this would be the first for them as well. She knew they were having it hard too. Evi did not want to cry, but her chest started to feel heavy. She tried her best to compose herself and looked right ahead, only to see the queen mother sitting there.. Her eyes were only on Evi. "There you both are." She said, delighted to see them both. "You must be hungry, my love. Come, let's eat." The Queen mother said, and it was true. Evi was very hungry and at the same time, very emotional as well. She had learnt from a very young age to hide her emotions and not show them out. She leant this when her mate died. It was a practice that she had mastered over the years, but as of now she actually missed everyone. And so much so that she was hanging by a thread and so were her emotions. Hoping she wouldn't cry out loud, hoping that emotion didn't burst out loud in front of those new people. She nodded her head, and immediately Evi sat down and right next to the Queen mother, and Nori right opposite to her. "Once the coordination is done, and you are crowned the Queen. You will be sitting where I am sitting." She said, not even close to make her feel better, or okay. The Queen mother and Nori expected a smile from Evi. But all they both got was a small nod of her head, and that was it. This confused them. The food was being placed, but not served, and yet Evi's eyes stayed on the food. Both Nori and Queen mother gave each other a look, trying to understand what was going on with her. But her sad face just made things difficult for them to predict anything . "Is everything okay? is there something you want?" The Queen mother asked, actually concerned about her. "Nothing at all." She said almost immediately, and glancing up at the Queen mother. But in the tone of her voice and the look in her eyes both were telling her otherwise. "You are lying to me, I don't know why you are doing that but now that we are family, Evi, I think you should talk to us. Lying can completely discard the information and you can go back to being in that position. But speak to me my love, I want to understand you. I don't want River's daughter to be upset. It would be like insulting your mother." She said. Although Evi did not want that. Suddenly she started to have trouble forming words, her mouth even hurting her. But she looked down at her hands, and yet continued. "Being a queen and everything seems amazing, Queen mother it really does. It makes me very happy that I am a part of this new family, but seeing this sudden changes, it just reminds me of dinner with my..... family.." She said, her voice breaking now, and Nori actually felt awful listening to her. The crake in her voice hurt her the most. "I... miss them." She whispered softly. Of course, it was hard for everyone to take in, it was definitely even harder for the queen mother as well. her face fell as Evi spoke her mind and soul. Completely understanding her, because this was not ideal whatever happened to her. She was brought here by force because she did not want to leave her family. How ever Evi was trying very hard not to cry, but it was getting very difficult for her this time. She could not hold it in. "I can not do this.......... I am sorry, but I don't want to eat." She said, immediately breaking, she was not strong enough now. Getting up and excusing herself, knowing if she stayed here any longer she would end up bursting up into tears, and that was not something she would want or she wanted the Queen mother to see. Nori looked at her stunned, sad even. Nori looked at the Queen mother, because she had a lot of authority in this house, but tonight she was also actually in pain as well. Just like the new Queen. "Don't worry, I will get her something to eat after sometime. She might feel better, but I will not let her sleep without food." Nori assured her. How ever the Queen mother watched the Queen walk out of the room, clearly understanding that her eyes were filled with tears and she was wiping them. It broke her heart to see Evi in this condition. Never the less, she turned to look at Nori, smiling softly at the girl she very much loved, since she was a baby. "I am very proud of you, Nori.." She said, when the food started to serve. It was not unusual for Barka to miss dinner, but sometimes he would have it late at night and she was okay with that. ....................................................................................................................................................................................................... How ever Evi, on the other hand knew exactly where to go, and if she did not, she was going to follow the scent of her things. And right now, even though she was blindly walking everywhere in the court or she knew exactly where to go. Right now tears were strongly forming in her eyes as she made her way through a blurry image right in front of her. Of course, if she was crying so much it was going to be difficult for her to see, but one thing was clear and that was that everyone in there clearly understood her situation, and especially her feelings. Their Queen was sad, and their blood bond was so strong that they could feel her. Immediately, Evi reached her bedroom as she forcefully pushed the door open, rushing into the room as the door closed behind her and she locked the door, hoping no one would come inside. And immediately Evi threw herself on the bed. Not wanting to cry, but her body her given up and so did her soul. It was not like going out and coming home for her. This was almost like leaving home and never going back. Some how she felt like she would go to her parents, and life would go back to normal. Hoping she could feel her old bed. Wanting to touch the old walls of the house. This was nothing like school, where she could go to school and come back home to her own parents, touch their warm skin. But this was a realisation that she was an adult now and she had to grow on her own, and that hit her way to harder, to a point that it started to hurt her. Evi laid there on her back with both her arms covering her eyes. Her chest was going up and down and she was actually mourning and crying, making noises while doing so, something she never expected to do, but here she was. "What am I doing? Why am I crying?" She asked herself, but honestly had no idea when suddenly her stomach started to growl as well. "And now I am hungry..." She said, crying louder and all over again. Sitting up straight, her face was a mess, completely wet and her hair all over the place. Her dress pulled up as well, she looked nothing like a strong Queen that she should be, rather everything about her was screaming weak, and she did not wants to be weak. "Okay......" She said to herself, letting out a large huff, taking up her bed cover and wiping her eyes away from them. Tears completely vanished, as she was taking a deep breath in and letting it out. "Do exactly what Misty told you Evelet." She said, doing exactly that. Taking deep breath in and out. Breath in and out. Evi did this multiple times, trying to calm herself, and it wasn't working, but it wasn't bad either. She had calmed down and settled down, and that was enough. No longer crying, and so Evi opened her eyes. "See, everything will get better, this crying cannot carry on." She said, done with the crying. Because from now she had to control herself. "You like it or not, you are a Queen here Evi. And if you like it or not, but you are far away from your family and that's okay. They are alive and safe." She reminded herself, because that was the truth. His army was now taking care of them. They were safe now, and that made her calm down. Immediately she slipped herself out of the bed, changing for the night so that she could go to sleep and get it over with. Because tomorrow she did not want to go out the same way. Emotionally, she knew it would take some time but everything was going to be okay. She knew that. Quickly, then Evi walked into the washroom. Turning the lights on she was standing right in front of the mirror, her hands on the sink. Just looking at herself and how alone she felt at that moment. That feeling was painful but nevertheless, she knew that people here were not going to hurt her. That thought was enough to relax her and compose her now. She nodded her head, telling herself that everything was going to be okay. That is how the world worked. Immediately she walked away, quickly sipping her dress off and letting it fall down. She walked into the shower, letting the hot water come. Evi started to take off her clothes entirely, walking into the shower. And without any warning or so, she just went in, letting the warm and slightly hot water hit her face, head and the rest of her body. She would do anything to calm herself down and this was one of those things.. Whatever it was, the water was helping her. This was enough. How ever outside of the castle there was entirely something else going on. The queen mother walked out, wanted to get some fresh air after what had just happened. And the thought of seeing the Queen that way and uneasy and unhappy was very painful. And right as she walked out, looking up at the moon goddess, she smiled softly. "There was a time when we did not have an idea if there was ever going to be a Queen in this Kingdom, but today we do have a Queen." She said, talking to the moon goddess. "It was not an easy road back then and it will not be an easy road from here. Help my son and my daughter moon goddess, help them at time like this." She prayed as her wolf did the very same thing as well. "Is everything okay?" Barka asked, suddenly coming out of no where. She was not surprised to see him but very happy to see the King. "I have to talk to you." The Queen mother said, and this took him aback. But never the less, he nodded his head as they both walked towards the sitting area right next to a large pool. "Is there something wrong?" He asked his grand mother. As they both got comfortable. "Where have you been all this time?. You didn't come to eat dinner with us." She said, making him look away from her. "I had some things to do. We will be having a vampire guest soon, and she needs some treatment from Misi." He said to his grand mother. Keeping her updated on this. "Is everything okay? " She asked. "I will tell you everything tomorrow, when it's settled, but you tell me, what did you want to talk about?" He asked, changing the subject almost immediately. "About Evi." the Queen mother let out, alarming him to an extent that he quickly glanced at her swiftly. "What happened? Is she okay? is something wrong? Is there something she needs?" He ask his grand mother, if she needed it anything. And he said that over and over again. And this brought a smile on the Queen mother's face, but suddenly it started to disappear as well. The smile did not even reach her ears. "She misses her family Barka, very much.. Evi came to eat dinner with me and Nori, I was expecting you to be there. But suddenly something happened. "Did she say anything?" He asked her, and with a serious tone. "No, she was a little bit upset. "Nori said she will take something for her to eat now....................." "I will....." He said, almost immediately, and this surprised the Queen mother. "You will?" She asked, yet again. How ever he did not answer, but he was busy thinking to himself, worried about her, and that was all he was now, thinking of her. "She was happy when she came to the dining table, but was just sad when she walked out. Evi was crying." She said and those words as they came out, it felt like he lost his breath. Barka was holding on to the chair, a wooden chair right next him and immediately he cracked the handle of the chair, something nobody saw coming. He did not even know he had done it, but did not even pay attention to it. "How is she now?" He asked. "I don't know, but I thought tomorrow morning you should go talk to her, help her through this and maybe show her around the kingdom." She will have to be happy, if she is trapped in here she will have a hard time doing anything." The Queen mother said, when suddenly there was a loud sound of a clock ringing, disturbing them. "That is my time to go to sleep, I cannot miss this." She said, immediately getting up and standing up straight. Growling as she did so as the old lady that she was, but Barka was not paying attention to her. His eyes stayed down on the ground. She thought he was thinking about something and that was the truth, he was thinking deeply. "All I am saying is, she has accepted to be here but this life here should be easy for her too. Snatching her away from her family was not the right thing to do by us, but now I can't see her in pain, Barka. And I am sure you cannot as well." She said and even though he wasn't saying anything, it was all the truth. Barka was upset, and that was because Evi was upset. "That is all I had to say to you." The Queen mother said, looking one last time at her grand son, and smirking softly to herself. All because she was planting this small things in his mind, and hoping all of this could stay there, and grow inside of him. Immediately, then the Queen mother turned around, leaving him there on his own. As it should be. She then glanced up at 4th floor of the tower, looking at the balcony door that was open and the white curtains flying back and forth. That was her room, and without saying another word she immediately walked out of there. Barka though, he was there all alone by himself thinking over her and how she was now. When suddenly he felt a slight breeze hit him and bringing him back to reality. The man sat back on his chair, thinking what he should do to help her, but out of no where, just for some unknown reason he raised his head, as it went up. Looking at Evi's bed room That room that was always closed and so were the windows. And Barka was so used to seeing them like that, but since Evi came, not once were they closed. He couldn't help but think that she actually enjoyed fresh air from there, and may be the view as well. How ever suddenly, he noticed something in there. A movement he saw. Barka then sat there, getting comfortable in the chair, as his eyes staying right there. That was when he noticed her. Evelet was walking out of her room and towards the balcony. She was standing by the edge. He noticed Evelet had changed for the night, and she looked comfortable, but yes, what her grandmother said was right too. Evelet looked too dull, upset and this was more than breaking his heart that he knew he did not have. His wolf, on the other hand, wanted to hurt itself for what he has done. "How can you be so mean to her, we need to go to her right now." It's said, now that his wolf changed his mind a few days ago, it was expecting Barca to do the same as well. "She is going to go to sleep, I can not disturb her." Barka said, "Evelet is our mate." The wolf said. "She can rest if she wants to.." Barka said back to the wolf, silencing it once again. However, the anger of his wolf was some thing that even he couldn't control. And right there, there was another scratch that came from his wolf. Hurting him physically and it was painful this time, his wolf was taking out his anger on Barka. He did not say anything and just sat there, looking up at her, and not being able to look away from her. Seeing how her hair was flying away, she was staring at the moon. Evelet's skin had even gone blue, a little bit. She looked and felt different and he could feel her, though they were far away. But the blood bond made him feel strongly, every part of it.
