Chapterb 16

However, Evi walked back into the bedroom, done with the day she had today and not wanting to be very over dramatic, but she couldn't help herself. It was a difficult time for Evi at that moment but eventually she was going to get over it, and she knew it. Quickly, Evi climbed into her large bed, wanting to have the same kind of sleep that she had yesterday. All because of that sleep last night, it was amazing. So pleasant it was. Evi has never slept like this before. Excited for that, she quickly covered her body up, wrapping herself into a warm black blanket and immediately Evi started to drift away. This was not a problem at all. She was so tired that she quickly fell into a deep slumber and all by herself. Finally, letting sleep consume her entirely. But at that very moment Barka was making his way back into the castle. He was making his way to get to his room as well, when he noticed a movement in the kitchen. Nori was walking out of the kitchen with a plate of food in her hands. It surprised him a bit. At this late at night she was not going to eat all that food. He didn't say anything to her, but just stood there watching her every move, a little confused. However, Nori walked out of the kitchen and the moment she saw the King she stopped on her track, scared at his presence. "Huuhhh..... my lord.." She said, looking down and bowing to him. And slowly glancing back up. "Y...you scared me." She said, placing her hand on her chest and this stunned him more. "Since when do you call me my lord?" He asked her, as she was holding that heavy plate tightly in her arms. "Since you have a Queen, And you both keep doing that all the time, scaring me." She let out. How ever Barka did not understand what she was talking about and it was not that new to him either. But he waited for her to continue. "I was actually taking all of this up stairs." She said. "Is everything okay?" He asked, concerned for her. However, Nori started to shake her head almost immediately. "This is not for me, but for Evi. I mean the queen." She said, correcting herself. "I told Queen mother I would take some food for her before she slept, and also she is a little weak. I could not let that happen. I think she should eat something. So I was taking this to her upstairs." Nori explained, the honest truth here. How ever, that moment, Barka heard that, he got to thinking. But he didn't react to this particular thing when his grandmother said to him earlier. But at this moment he knew that she must be very tired and hungry, and as per the doctor said, she had eat on time and sleep on time and step out on time as well. And she was never going to listen to anything he had to say to her. The man shut his eyes tight, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Give it to me, I will take this to her." Barka said to Nori and this surprised Nori. She expected him to say a lot of things, most of it was, good night and then walk away from there. But seeing this human side of him was so fascinating. She couldn't wait to go say this to Santo. "Are you sure?, she might not listen to you." She said, a little afraid to even say that and it was absolutely right of her to feel afraid because the kings stared at her. Moving his hand forward, he was telling her to give the plate to him, and without any hesitation she immediately take him, not wanting to make him angry. Especially late at this night, she too wanted to sleep and rest. Once he had the plate in his hand, Barka quickly walked away from there, not giving her one last look and leaving her there all alone in the castle. Nori stood there, staring at him as he was walking up the stairs and disappearing. "What the hell did I just watch?" She whispered to herself, realising that mates could actually change even the most brutal man in this world. ............................................................................................................................................................................................................. How ever, Barka, on the other hand, he walked up and making his way towards her room, knowing this was not going to end well for either of them, but there was no other way to that. He was not going to let her leave without eating and now he was on the same floor as herself, looking at her door as he walked closer.. But inside of the room, there was something wrong in there, something else happening entirely. Mostly in her sleep, as the light of the moon was hitting her, that was the only light that had consumed the room. She was right in the middle of it. With her eyes closed she was shifting here and there. Slowly trashing in her large bed, and her chest and her breath getting heavy on her chest. She was having a hard time breathing. Evi was having a dream yet again, a bad one this time. Something she couldn't get away from. And in her dream she was standing right at the entrance of the castle. Once again blood was everywhere around her. This was not new. There was blood even on her body, but that was not something that she was scared of anymore. She had seen that so many times before that now she was immune to the word blood. But yet it was slightly difficult to see that over and over again. However, what really scared her the most was standing right in front of a man she had never met. She had never seen him before, but his grey eyes were staring at her. This man was strange, standing there far away from where she, but never looking away from her. She could see he was watching her and only her, a smile on her face as well. Slowly, the man started to walk towards where she was standing and this scared her.. Because she knew he was not someone that wanted to help her. But it was something about him that was scaring her. The man she had never seen before, she had clear picture of him or that is what she thought. She could see his entire body and only his eyes. Every thing else seemed a little blurry. Evi then started to back away, moving back up the stairs, but couldn't take her eyes of him, scared that if she blinked he would get too close to her.. But somehow everything felt so numb to Evi. She couldn't move fast enough, because he was catching on to her. .. .. .. .. "Barka......." She whispered. Immediately she called out for his name, hoping he would get here but unfortunately, he was not there. Evi looked around every where, trying to find him because she wanted him there with her. But it was just a dark night here and bodies every where she looked. But then, suddenly the man immediately came up and closer to her, grabbing her hand tightly in his grip. "BARKA......." She screamed his name out loud, when in that moment she felt a piercing burn in her hand. Painful as it was, harshly she was screaming pain. And now outside of her dream, out in the open she was creaming, moving and trashing here and there frantically.. She was clearly in pain, and it was clearly seen all over her face as well. She was still screaming out his name over and over again.. "BARKA... NNNOOOOO...." It was almost as if she was calling for him for help, and this time, realistically, she was doing so, she wanted him. Because right at that moment, the man was alarmed, he was not too far away from her bedroom door and without thinking for one second, he ran towards where she was. Placing the plate of food on the table, Barka immediately slammed on to the door, and so harshly that he broke the lock, forcing the door to opened up on its own. "EVELET.." He screamed for her, as his eyes went on Evelet. He then walked into the room and his eyes immediately landed on his mate, only to see her in this bed. He did not know what it was inside of him, but the man was furious as to why and what could it be that was scaring his mate so much. "Ba.... Barka.." She called out for me yet again, her hands moving here and there, trying to hold him. And immediately she ran up to her, sitting down on the bed and grabbing her by the shoulder, holding her tight. For the very first time, even Barca was afraid, afraid of what might have happened to her. "EVI, Evi wake up." He called out for her, moving her shoulders. But she did not wake up. Her eyes were squinted and she looked as if she was in pain. It was just very difficult to see her in this position. "EVI, WAKE UP, I AM RIGHT HERE.." He called out for her yet again, but this time so loud, and through out it went. His voice was echoing through out the place, everywhere through the castle as well. Shaking the doors and windows around the room. And this time she was completely pulled away from her nightmare, the bad dream was finally over and for once she saw something else other than the bloody site. "Huuuhhhhh........" Evi let out a large huff and freaked out. Breathing heavily she looked around the dark room. Immediately getting scared of this as well. She gasped in horror trying to move away when she suddenly felt something wrapped around her body, that gave her all the comfort that she needed. She felt so alive and awake and 100 times better. And then immediately, Evi looked to her right only to say it was Barka in her room right there with her. "Huhhh.." She gasped again and immediately wrapped her arms around him, wanting to never let go. Barka's eyes went wide open and he could feel her fear. "I am right here.." He said to her, although he did not know if this was working, but she was feeling like she was in heaven. Evi was screaming for his name and he was there, it was so much as if she was going to cry now. "What happened? What happened, what did you see?" He asked her. He wanted to help. She was afraid, but this moment she did not let go of him. Honestly had nothing to say either. She was just so happy that for once she had help, him coming here was all that she needed to get out of that horrible dream and away from that man. She pulled away and looked at her wrist, trying to see if there were any bruises on her, because the man had held on to her so tight and this behavior only confused Barka. "Evi...." He screams out her name louder, this time completely bringing her back to reality. "What happened?, tell me......." He asked, hovering over her as she looked deep into his eyes. Her eyes were shining because they had tears in them, she was crying in her sleep. A small tear ran down her eyes, and she had no control over it.. Barka saw that and he wiped it off almost immediately. And the moment he touched her, both of them felt this sudden spark. Evi had started to breathe better this time, but her chest was still going up and down. "I had a bad dream.." She whispered. "I can see that. What did you see?" He asked her, honestly wanting to know. "And don't lie to me, tell me what you saw." He said and at that moment she did not want to lie on, but rather she sat up. Barka helped her, both of them not knowing what they were doing with each other. "I saw someone." She said. "Who...... " He asked her, and she started to shake her head. "I have no idea who he was. I haven't seen him before. He was a very large man. I don't know who he was but he was pulling my hand." She said, looking at her wrist, that seemed to be hurting. But maybe it was all in her head. At that moment her hair started to fall on her face, as messy as it was, but right now Barca was honestly worried about her. His face showed it all. He started to move her hair out of her face. "And then what happened?" He asked. "That man's eyes... I remember them, they were grey and a large cut on the side of his cheek." She said to him, and right at that moment Barka felt something completely shift inside of him. "What did you say?" He asked her, his face falling and there was a strict look in his eyes. No longer he held any worries for her but only anger, pure rage. "How did his eyes look?" He asked her, staring into her eyes, and this time she whispered softly. "Grey.." She said, afraid. "Is that what you saw?" He asked her, making sure this was right and she started to nod her head. "I did, he was holding me tight." She said, afraid and this only made him even more angry. And now he completely looked away from her, because he did not want to scare her as she was already afraid. Barka's eyes had turned completely black, pitch black. The man was very close to growling, but he controlled himself and it was just for her. She was also trying to compose herself, coming back to reality and everything started to come back to her. Immediately she scrunched her eyes, lines forming on her forehead as she slowly turned to Barka, seeing why he was here and confused as ever. Her eyes immediately went to the door as well. Evi's eyes went wide open and she had clearly remembered that she had closed her door. Her mouth hung open in surprise as to what was going on here. "What are you doing in my room ?" She asked, going back to her own self. And no longer afraid of her dream, she was wondering why he was there with her, but she was very much alarmed. Barka, on the other hand, he said nothing to her, he controlled his anger by pushing his wolf back inside and sat there, looking at her. "Did you break my door ?" She asked, a little pissed off. "You were screaming my name." He said, reminding her and she was confused. "I was?" She asked, and she was taken a back. Offended almost "I was calling for you once or twice, I was not screaming for your name." She said defending herself and he smirked at her. "That is not how it's sounded to me." He said, giving her a very blank stare. "But that was not a nice reason to just burst into someone's room while they are sleeping." She said but this did not surprise him because this was something he had predicted a long time ago. Although, he was just happy that she was no longer afraid. "You have to eat, you slept without eating and that's not healthy for you." He said, suddenly getting up and walking away from there. Of course, this did not give her all the clarity that she wanted. But the moment he stood up, suddenly he felt resistance in his body, like something was pulling on to him. He looked down to see that it was Evelet's small hands and she had held on to his t-shirt tight in her grip. Clearly, it has surprised both of them.. "I'm sorry.." She said, slowly letting it go embarrassed. Barka then turned around walking away. That was when he realised that she was actually scared this entire time.. Of what she saw, and that must have been difficult for her and he knew that. However, she watched him go out of the room and come back, but this time with a plate of food with him. She was actually very happy to see this. Her eyes went wide open in shock, but mostly it was sparkling in happiness. It had reached a different destination and her mouth was watering the moment he brought it closer to her. Evi immediately grabbed on to it like a hungry hyena. She was about to eat but stopped, looking up at him. Although, Barka had a small smile on his face "I will leave you to it then." He said, turning around and walking away from there. "Don't waste food, eat everything and walk a bit before you go to sleep." He said to her and that some how seemed like a great idea to her. "Thank you....." She said to him, and for the first time she was thanking him for something and it was new for him to see this side of her. Barka was taken a back. He stopped on his track but did not turn around. Simply nodded his head, immediately walking out of the door, closing the door behind him. And unfortunately, the lock of the door was broken, so it could not be locked anymore. That was okay by her, she just wanted to eat her food, already happy with the food, happy that she was out of a dream. How ever, Barka, on the other hand, he immediately walked into his room, closing the door behind him. Although, the man knew he wouldn't be able to sleep now, something inside if him was stopping him and he was a little perplexed, but couldn't help but think about his mate. Seeing her in distress was very difficult for him, painful even. It was an experience he had never had before. One once with his family, his parents. But after that never, not until she came into his life. Barka walked up to a chair, taking it and placing it right next to his door, sitting down and keeping a sharp ear on Evi's room. Knowing she would or could need him. And because of that fact he couldn't sleep, especially from what she saw, the man with the grey eyes, he knew he had to stay awake. Because he knew that was not just a dream that she had, he existed and Barka knew him very well. But now he did not want to think about that, nothing except for Evi. Who actually needed him this time?
