I wandered the halls aimlessly, attempting to find an armory of sorts if I could but it was to no avail. She either did not carry weapons in the vessel or she had them hidden for only certain people. We did not need the weapons, however it is better to use a weapon before using an ability that they can figure out. If somebody figured out how an ability works and it's weaknesses then that is game over no matter what way you look at it. Luckily unlike Gabriel I do not have one, I have some small heaven related powers that any Angel has but a special ability does not seem to come out. I have to make up for lack of that in battle with what I can, whether it's using my modified arm or a weapon to counter an attack. Would be a much easier task had it not been for the fact I get a fireball or spiritual energy thrown my way every two seconds of the fight. After some time I decided to head back to the cafeteria, half hoping Gabriel was no longer eating like an animal but at the same time I wanted to see how far his hunger went. To my surprise, he was still eating and even caught the attention of the head chef who was now making him meals as fast as he ate them. There was a crowd gathered around him chanting and taking videos even. At that point I was dumbfounded by everything, these were people who more than likely knew who Gabriel was and could take him in which meant that Scarlet put some sort of protection warning on her precious cargo or that they were people who had achieved another level of "Not my business" Regardless the video could become an issue if it came out to the public, which is why I set off a small EMP to hopefully not let anything happen. The lights flickered and as I got close to him within the commotion I heard the PA system go off.
"Lions Nine. Arriving. Any workers to be here please head to the main exit on the West wing."
The messaged played over a couple of times as I grabbed Gabriel and dragged him out of the kitchen. He waved goodbye to the chef and the chef smiled wide and happily. It took me a bit but thanks to my exploring I found the exit in time for landing. Scarlet, the other woman and Grim were already waiting for us there. They had changed outfits to more elegant dresses, as if they were headed to a Gala not a war zone. Then again, we would be doing all of the fighting. Grim in the other hand, he now had a pair of black pants and a dirty white shirt along with the Katana he seemed to wield. His gaze was low once more, and he was holding his hand against his stomach again. I felt sick to my stomach knowing that she probably hurt the innocent boy once more, had it not been for the shackles that bind Gabriel and I she would have been long dead.
"My, my for a glutton and a brainiach you sure like to take your time getting places. Come on, we are about to be welcomed in. Remember what I said. Amazonians do not like men, it's in your best interest to keep your head down and your opinions non existent."
Scarlet said as the doors opened and the stairway lowered to the landing pad.
"Let's do what she says for the moment. Follow my lead though, we can't let them push us around so easily"
Gabriel nodded at me as we both took a deep breath then began walking behind the two despicable woman. As I looked down to our welcoming party I quickly took notice of the lavish lifestyle that this place seemed to reflect. There were two rows of Amazonian warriors in full armor standing upright, their light based weapons ready to be used at a moment's notice. Scarlet waved at the crowd that had been filled behind the guard lines, showing off her confidence to all. We finally made it to the bottom of the stairs where I took a quick note of the Amazonians body. They were much taller than your average human like creature, at least seven feet for their shortest. Their armor covered their entire body, leaving no blind spot for them to protect against any sort of attack but based off of the crowd behind the guards I could tell that their bodies had to be very muscular and strong. I started devising some sort of counter against these things I noted since we would be facing the same type of adversary in the battlefield. Gabriel looked rather anxious as we walked by them, his eyes were wandering around to not risk a cultural clash I smacked him back to his senses with a hit to the back of his head.
"Eyes forward. We don't want to start anything yet."
Gabriel slowly nodded as we kept quiet and followed Scarlet, the other women and Grim. There was a deafening silence amongst the guards that I could not help but notice. Everyone came to a sudden stop and then the Guards kneeled down, we followed their actions and kept our heads down as a female voice spoke.
"Welcome my champions, to Lion Nine. I thank you for answering my call, for that itself you shall be rewarded immensely. For today you have made a strong ally, and tomorrow when your time of need comes we shall answer."
She had the tone of a queen alright, they seemed to have enough technology to back up their argument which on its own got me thinking what was the reason to their sudden need of help. There has to be something that they are hiding behind their pride.
"You may address the queen"
Another guard spoke as we all lifted our heads, but Grim, Gabriel and I were subdued against the ground at a moments notice. I did not struggle against them, any movement would get us all killed.
"Not you three, you are male. You are nothing but scum and useless body shields. These two fine young woman are the real heroes amongst you. Go get their baggage before I snap your necks myself"
The queen spoke with a disgusted tone, as if watching her soldies touch us was enough to make her vomit.
"I apologize your highness, but we are not the warriors. They are, I know that culturally this may be taken as a true offense to your people but these three are the key to winning your war. As a woman who has aided in many wars and other political conflicts I can assure you that these three boys will have this war won in no time"
There was silence once more, I remained still as the guards made sure we were kept still. I took a small peek up to see what was going on. It was for a split second that I saw her, the great amazonian Queen that was supposed to be feared by many suddenly have a moment of doubt within her own judgement. I was right, there is something she does not want outsiders like us to know about the conflict at hand but with time it will be revealed. I lowered my gaze before the guard took notice and kept still once more.
"Fine, Ms. Scarlett, but know this. If your Dogs are not able to pull through as you say then we will hold you accountable for the consequences. I was planning on giving you half of the money upfront but as circumstances seem to have changed I wish to pay after this deal is finished."
The Queen said with boldness to Scarlett, I could not see it but I felt how their personalities clashed in this simple business talk. One a royal woman hellbent against even looking at a male of any species, the other a woman of buisness who never takes no for an answer.
"Do as you wish, by the end of this the money shall be in my hands. I have buisness to attend to outside this galaxy, contact me once my boys win your war. Until then, treat them with some decency at least. You may regret it later"
She said as she turned around, walking back up the escalator and back into her ship. If cocky had a name, she would own it. Her confidence never faltered which either gained the fury of the Amazonian Queen or her respect. Regardless, we remained silent as the ship's engines came alive and the boosters roared as she left us. Three males in a world where our kind is hated, figured it would be an interesting contract to fulfill since the beginning.
