Selene (The Moon Goddess) POV **Two Days Before the Peace Summit** “Selene, darling.” Hades plasters on his most winning smile, the smile he knows has the power to make women cream in their panties. The Moon Goddess Selene glances up from the fountain in front of her, eyes locking onto Hades as he walked into her temple. She raised an eyebrow in question, her eyes followed Hades as he sauntered over to her. “Hades.” Her voice came out a bit breathy. “It has been ages since you have visited me here. To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?” Selene waves a hand over her fountain, hiding the contents from Hades’ gaze before she moves around to come face to face with the King of the Underworld. Selene’s movements don’t go unnoticed by Hades, his eyes wandering to peer curiously into the fountain she was just staring into. Turning back to Selene, Hades plasters on another smile. “I have been lonely down in the Underworld with no one to keep me company.” He says, running a finger down Selene’s cheek lovingly. “It has been so long since I have had the company of a beautiful woman.” Fire blazes in his eyes as he looks down at her. Heat creeps up Selene’s cheek as a blush overtakes her at the gentle touch of Hades’ fingers. There was a time that Selene would spend many a lazy day with Hades in the Underworld, and even here in her temple, but that ended when it became clear that he would never get over Hera’s rejection and nothing more would ever come of their relationship. Hades has let her be for over a millennium ever since she made a fool of herself and begged for him to take the next step with their relationship. Selene shook herself out of memories of the past and pulled away from Hades, creating space between them. Hades drops his hand back to his side. A flash of guilt moved across his face, smoothing out before Selene can focus on the show of emotion for too long. What could Hades be upto this time? Selene was sure that it was nothing good and nothing that she wanted to be a part of. “Down to business then.” Hades says, straightening his back and putting on a business face. A pain stabs in Selene’s heart at the quick change of attitude. So he is here for something that does not include rekindling our romance. “What do you want Hades?” Selene asks, putting up defenses around her heart. Selene vowed a long time ago that she would not let Hades weasel his way back into her heart, and she was not going to give in after all of this time. Hades lifted his hand to cover his heart, feigning a look of hurt as he looked down at Selene. “You wound me, my beautiful Moon Goddess.” His voice traveled to Selene’s ear as a whisper, sending shivers of awareness throughout her body. Hades moved closer to Selene, his hand grazing the side of her arm as he looked over her shoulder at the fountain behind her. “Hera asked me to check on something.” Hades says, his eyes still glued to Selene’s fountain of wolves. Selene’s body stiffened at the mention of Hera, her anger rising quickly as memories of why she ended things with Hades long ago resurfaced to bring heartache to her fragile heart. Selene pulled away from Hades' touch, putting space in between them, a look of anger appearing on her face. “Of course you only came to see me after all of this time because SHE sent you.” Selene fumed. No matter how much time has passed since Hera chose Zeus over Hades, she still has him wrapped around her finger like a desperate lover. Selene had never felt inferior to another Goddess in all of her years of existence, but Hera had a way of making her feel less than without even trying. Hades winced at the harsh tone coming through in Selene’s voice, his hands moved up in silent surrender as his legs moved him closer to Selene. “I acquiesced to her request because it was an excuse to see you once again.” Hades whispered along Selene’s neck, sending more of those delicious shivers down her spine. “And what is it that she wanted you to check on?” Selene asked, unable to fight the power Hades holds over her. “Zeus has a child with a wolf from one of his zealot packs.” Hades said as he placed torturous kisses along her neck and up to her ear, nibbling on her ear when he reached it. “She wanted to know if she has been mated as of yet.” Hades continued as he moved Selene closer to her fountain situated behind them. Selene let out a sultry moan when Hades moved his hands along her body, gripping her aching breasts in his hands. Lust coats Selene’s brain, making it harder to concentrate on the words that were coming out of Hades’ mouth in between the kisses that he places along her body. Zeus’ halfbreed child. Selene thought to herself, bringing her back to the reason for Hades’ visit in the first place. Selene pulled away from Hades’ embrace and turned her body to face her fountain of wolves. Her arm extends out, bringing up thousands of little dots of varying colors, some of them paired, while some of them hang out around the edges of the fountain. Selene mumbled some words under her breath, too quiet for Hades to hear, and every wolf except for two appeared in the fountain, both fighting to get towards each other, but something kept pushing them back. Hades turned his attention back to Selene, a question written on his face. Selene let out a dejected sigh, her sad eyes moved over the two wolves separated by an invisible barrier. “Zeus’ wolf daughter has a mate out there right now, but they can never be.” Selene dipped her finger in the fountain to stroke the light colored wolf with her index finger. The black wolf jumped in the fountain excitedly, as if waiting for the Moon Goddess to bring him together with his mate. “What is keeping them apart?” Hades asked, his brows drawn together into a frown. Selene looked up from her fountain to meet Hades’ gaze. A look passed over her features as if she had forgotten that Hades was standing beside her. For twenty-eight years, these two wolves have been trying to get together, but the invisible barrier between the two has never let them pass. Selene looked up from her fountain to meet Hades’ gaze. A look passed over her features as if she had forgotten that Hades was standing beside her. For twenty-eight years these two wolves have been trying to get together, but the invisible barrier between the two has never let them pass. There have been moments throughout the last twenty-eight years that Zeus has done something to anger Selene and she contemplated pushing the two together, but even she is not crazy enough to go against the King of the Gods. So instead she stands by each day, watching as they fight to get to each other. “The black wolf is a King of old that angered Zeus.” Selene said as she shifted her eyes back to the two wolves in the fountain. “Zeus had me place a barrier to prevent him from ever merging with his fated mate.” Sadness filled Selene’s face. “This is the first time that a she-wolf has appeared in the fountain beside him.” Selene let out a humorless laugh. Selene moved her hand to clear the fountain, but the feel of Hades’ hand on her stopped her before she could finish. Hades turned Selene’s body so that her back was facing the fountain. “What do you say we wash away the sadness that is covering that beautiful face of yours?” Hades’ husky whisper sent shivers throughout Selene, making her forget about the open fountain behind her. Selene was lost in the pleasure when Hades crushed his lips to hers for a bruising kiss. Her eyes closed of their own accord as Selene became lost in the sensations that moved through her from the feel of Hades’ lips on hers. Hades’ hands moved behind her and drew together slowly before they grabbed her tiny waist and pulled her in closer to his body. The bulge in his jeans rubbed enticingly against the hidden paradise between her thighs. Hades broke the kiss suddenly. Selene whimpered from the lack of contact with his lips. Her eyes popped open when the sound of Hades’ chuckle registered within her desire fogged brain. “You need to close down your fountain, beautiful Goddess.” Hades whispered in her ear huskily. “And then we can move this to that bed of flowers of yours.” A shudder moved through Selene’s body at his words. She absently flung her hand behind her, closing the fountain to keep others from messing around with her wolves, for once a mate bond has been created, it was impossible for it to be broken.
