So Avalon went and promised Nanny Leonila that he will come at lunch.
When Nanny Leonila gave the flowers to Princess Alexandria.
“He came?”
“But he went to work and he will come back at lunchtime. Do you want to eat with him?”
“I guess so.”
“You need to prepare now, Princess Alexandria. People have lined up outside.”
“Nanny Leonila, stay with me while people greet us. Some people will surely tell me stories of how my father is and how good he is. It might make me cry.”
“I will, Princess Alexandria.”
So Princess Alexandria prepared herself. She wore a simple black long dress, as not to emphasize herself.
People were lined outside to take their view of the King. The Queen and the Princess were also there to welcome them. As the line started to move, people gave the Queen and the Princess gifts and flowers. They also gave encouragement and a promise of commitment and help for them. There were times the Queen and the Princess would shed tears, there are times some people will make them laugh. With the last ng line of people that passed, they didn’t realize that it’s already midday.
Princess Alexandria’s eyes were trying to search for a familiar face but she didn’t find him. She felt a little worried and heartsick. And after some time, she sat on a chair and felt lonely.
“Princess Alexandria, are you okay?”
“Maybe I am just tired.”
“Would you like me to bring you something?”
“Can I rest in my room?”
“I will bring you there now.”
“Please tell my mother, and be with her Nanny Leonila.”
“Maid of honor Rosemary and you father’s secretary Stella are both at her side.”
“But please tell her that I will be in my room. Please ask them not to leave her.”
“I will. Stay seated for a while and I will go to them. I will come back for you.”
“Okay, Nanny Leonila.”
And Nanny Leonila went straight to the Queen.
“Your Highness, the Princess is asking your permission for her to go to her room and rest.”
“Is she alright?”
“She is, Your Highness. She says d she is just tired.”
“Okay, don’t leave her Nanny Leonila.”
“I will stay with her, Your Highness.”
And Nanny Leonila went to the maid of honor Rosemary and the Royal secretary Stella and asked them not to leave the Queen as Princess Alexandria’s wish. And they all agreed to take care of the mother and daughter.
So Nanny Leonila went back to Princess Alexandria and assisted her in going to her room.
“Would you like to eat? I will get your food.”
“No, Nanny Leonila. I just want to sleep. You can eat while I sleep. Just ask the guards to stay quiet outside.”
“As you wish Princess Alexandria.”
And Nanny Leonila went to the kitchen to grab some food for her. Then she saw chef Leandro
“Nanny Leonila is the Princess eating already. What will I prepared for her this time.”
“She doesn’t want to eat. She is resting. If Avalon came, I know she will eat.”
“Are the two already in love?”
“I saw the Princess trying to search for him earlier but I am not sure why he wasn’t able to come. He told me he will join the Princess this lunch so they can have it together.”
“She is looking for him?”
“I believe so.”
“They are suitable for each other. They are both kinds, sweet, caring, and humble. I am so excited and happy for them.”
After Nanny Leonila ate she went back to Princess Alexandria’s room, but before she reaches the hall towards Princess Alexandria’s, a guard called her name.
“Nanny Leonila, the Sir Avalon is looking for you.”
“Where is he?”
“He is assisting the Queen.”
“Thank you so much.”
And Nanny Leonila went to the hall and looked for Avalon. She saw him talking to the Queen.
“Your Highness, pardon my intrusion, can I speak with Sir Avalon.”
“He’s all yours Nanny Leonila.”
“Pardon Your Highness. I will leave momentarily.”
Then Avalon looked at Nanny Leonila, searching for Princess Alexandria
“Where is Princess Alexandria, Nanny Leonila?”
“You promised you’re coming for lunch?”
“I am sorry, I needed to finish something.”
“She was sad earlier, and I noticed she was waiting for you.”
“She was?”
“She didn’t eat but wanted to rest instead.”
“Can I be with her? I would like to bring food to her or maybe just see her.”
“I will prepare her food first then we can both go there.”
“Alright, I will just stay here and wait for your return, Nanny Leonila and we will go to her together.”
So Nanny Leonila went to Chef Leandro and they prepared food for Princess Alexandria and Sir Avalon. When it was done, she went to Avalon and they both went to Princess Alexandria’s room.
Avalon asked Nanny Leonila to go first to make sure that the Princess is decent. Then she opened the door and let Avalon in.
Avalon held Princess Alexandria’s hand.
“Alexandria.”
And the Princess opened d her eyes a little. She was happy to see Avalon. She smiled at him
“You’re here.”
“Would you like to eat now, you haven’t eaten lunch.”
“I got tired of welcoming the people earlier.”
“Let’s eat now because your mother, Queen Anastasia, needs a replacement in welcoming the people.”
“Alright.”
So Nanny Leonila prepared their food on the table and she left for a while as they ate together in her room. When they were done.
“I will freshen up a little before I go there.”
“Alright. I will just be outside.”
When Nanny Leonila saw Avalon going out of the room.
“Did she eat?”
“Yes, she ate.”
“Oh, thank you. Please have dinner with her as well.”
And Avalon nodded. He didn’t want to because he was abashed, but because Princess Alexandria eats when they are together, he is compelled to.
Then when she went out of the room, she is now ready to replace her mother in welcoming the people.
“Mother, please eat your lunch now, I am feeling renew and I will welcome the people.”
And her mother went to the patio to eat. She didn’t want to eat at the dining hall for she would remember her husband who left his seat empty.
Meanwhile, Princess Alexandria welcomed people and they are pleased to shake hands with her. They even shook hands with Avalon. Some teased them and promised to be there if they get married.
Avalon and Princess Alexandria would just smile at each other.
After some four hours of welcoming people, the guards stopped the coming of people and told them to come back tomorrow because the Queen and the Princess have been tired for the whole day and needed to rest.
While Avalon and Princess Alexandria were seated and resting.
“Avalon.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
“Have you had a tour of the castle?”
“No, not yet, Your Highness.”
“Alexandria, why don’t.you give Avalon a tour of the castle?”
Princess Alexandria looked at Avalon.
“Would you like to?”
“If it suits your schedule.”
“Come, I will be your tour guide.”
And Avalon gave the Queen his respect.
“May I, Your Highness.”
“Go.”
And he knelt a little to give respect to the Queen. So they went around the house going to each room and Princess Alexandria would explain things about the room and some artifacts found in the room. They held hands while they went to corridors into rooms.
In the third room. Princess Alexandria was explaining about the medals places on each stand and statue. As she did, Avalon spoke.
“Can I kiss you?”
