Since High School

Step one

I looked at the ceo, I felt a sense of dejavu. There was just something familiar about him that I couldn't wrap my arms around.I didn't remember meeting him, but those blueish green eyes seemed to stir something deep within me.

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts.It was just probably my imagination, right? it wasn't the Xavier i knew, right? But as I continued to Stare at him,I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had seen him before.

He began his presentation, explaining

the company's visions and goals. I decided to put my thoughts behind me and focus on his presentation. But I could swear that I felt his eyes on me.

I was here for an internship, and I wasn't going to allow any distractions, even if that distraction was Xavier Davies. Someone I had known since high school.

when he ended his presentation, he was applauded,i was impressed.He was good, and he seemed really passionate.

After the applause,he opened the floor for questions. I was reluctant at first, considering I still had my suspicions, but like I said, not even Xavier Davies would distract me.

" Can you elaborate on the company's culture ? I asked, trying to sound confident. If he was really the one, then I was ready to show him the woman I had become. I was a different woman, not the girl that would cry because he kissed someone else, or the girl that unnecessarily gets angry and then forgives easily. I was different, stronger,wiser.

" Absolutely," he responded, looking directly at me with a smile plastered on his face. " I felt something in my stomach from the way he smiled at me. I had gotten over him a very, very long time ago, and besides, I wasn't still sure he was the one.

He explained the company's culture passionately, and I didn't even realise that I was smiling lightly.

" Thank you," I responded when he finished and sat down.

"Anytime, Anna," he responded, still smiling.

After the briefing, he left to go to his office, leaving us with our trainer, Mrs Victoria Rayes.

XAVIER

I walked past the people on my way to my office. For the first time in a long while, I didn't care about those staring at me. All I cared about was her:Anna, she was here.

I got to my office and closed the door behind me. " Can I get the list of all the interns ,together with their applications?" I said to someone over the intercom. before relaxing into my chair. step one, confirm if she really is who I think she is.

Ten minutes later, my secretary brought a file to my table. I hesitated before opening it. if she was the one, then it would really change a lot of things.

But when I opened the file, it was really her. Annabelle Roblins. And checking her resume,she graduated from San Marino High school. I didn't know what to feel.

" hi, can we meet up" I said to someone over the phone.

ANNA

The rest of the day went on in a rush . without any sign of the CEO of course and it was time to go home .

I took a cab and made it back home . Jane wasn't home yet. I dropped my bag on my bed and made it to the kitchen to make dinner

I had made dinner and was drinking a bit of water when my phone rang . I quickly ran to pick it thinking it was Jane calling but when i got there,it wasn't Jane. it was my mother .

" hello" mum screamed immediately i picked it. "good evening mum" I greeted trying to calm her excitement. " good evening intern" she replied in a fake Italian accent causing both of us to chuckle. I know what you are thinking , you are probably thinking something like: gosh, your mum hasn't changed since the first chapter. yeah I think so too.

" tell me everything" she questioned after we finished another round of chuckling and laughing.

.I sighed as I began to tell her everything leaving out the part about my suspicions with the new CEO. she seemed more excited than I was.

When we finished talking, I decided to call Jane cause she still wasn't back. " I'm almost home, I was stuck in traffic " she replied almost immediately she finished talking.

I decided to wait up for her, I couldn't wait to share my suspicions with her.

XAVIER

oh God,today has been a very stressful day indeed. I had a lot of work to handle since the office had been unoccupied for a while.

I still was thinking about my encounter with her. Does she still hate me, did she realise who I am, should I talk to her first, this questions bugged me, a lot .

Still In thought, i heard a knock on the door. " come in" I answered absentmindedly.

" dinner is served sir" Helen, my house keeper announced.

" alright" I answered dismissing her.

I took off my clothes and proceeded to take a bath. but not once did my head not think about her: Anna

ANNA

" hey baby girl" Jane said immediately she entered the house

" hi, I responded almost absentmindedly. I think she noticed this as she came and sat beside me.

" hey what's what's up, what's with the long face" she asked as she sat down. I sighed before I turned to face her. " how was your first day? tell me, if any b***tard hurt you in anyway and so help me God, I will kill that ba**ard with my bare hands" she continued raising her fist in the air.

I chuckled lightly before answering her. " you don't have to kill anyone okay" I began.

" then what is it" she asked again.

I sighed again before answering her. " I think I saw him Jane" I said slowly. she seemed really confused as to what I was talking about . " saw who" she asked still confused. " I think I saw him , Xavier Davies" I said carefully as I analysed her expression. she seemed confused at first before her face lit up like a light bulb and she screamed. " what?".
