Chapter 4
"You are useless Mia, It's been three years now Mia and the simple task you are being told to do which is to provide a heir for me is too difficult for you to handle!"
Stephan said shouting at Mia as the teras rolled down her cheek.
"I'm trying….." Mia responded crying as Stephan's hurtful words stabbed her deep in her heart. Handling the pressure of being the Luna is tough enough for Mia but Stephan blaming her for her inability to bore a heir makes her pain more unbearable for her.
"Well, apparently you are not trying enough Mia. Just get out of my site Mia, I don't want to see you please. Your presence irritates me!" Stephan said angrily.
"Stephan please" Mia pleased
"Just, get out Mia" Stephan insisted.
Mia stepped out as the tears rolled down her cheek as her best friend Nadia came to console her.
"You will be fine Mia, it's just a matter of time. You will get pregnant soon with the alpha's baby and he will love and accept you back again" Nadia told Mia Patting her back slightly.
"I'm tired of waiting Nadia, it's being three years now. I have tried everything but no result yet" Mia said crying.
"Just keep taking that tea I have been giving you and I will also bring more for you that would be more potent so you can conceive soon" Nadia said.
On hearing Nadia talk about the tea, Mia remembered she did not take the tea the last time before copulating with Stephan as it spilled right before she could take it.
"Please do bring a more potent one for me Nadia. Thank you for your support so far, I really appreciate it" Mia told Nadia as she squeezed her hands gently.
"I love you Mia and I want the best for you but…. I have to go now. I need to attend to something urgently. We will talk later" Nadia dashed off just before Mia could ask her where she was headed to.
Mia all alone to her thoughts, as she felt a sudden dizziness she has never felt before and decided to go see a doctor to confirm what's wrong with her as she doesn't trust the pack doctor.
"Congratulations Luna Mia, you are pregnant with". Those words made Mia inner wolf leap in joy.
"Are you sure doctor?" Mia asked again just to be sure she is not dreaming.
"Mia, you are pregnant. I am very sure of that. Let me show you the scan for you to be sure" the doctor said.
As Mia watched her baby in the scan small and tender wrapped in her stomach she couldn't help but feel overjoyed.
"Thank you doctor" Mia said as she left the doctors place in a hurry to deliver the good news to stephan.
"I am very sure he will be happy to hear this good news" Mia said to herself as she ran as fast as she could, the lenght of her dress in her arm.
Mia could see the pack house tall and large meters away from where she is, she was panting heavily but she wouldn't stop running as this news would change her life forever.
As she approached the pack house, she saw how crowded it was and she couldn't help but wonder what was going on as the pack house wasn't crowded before she left earlier.
A pack members sited Mia standing amongst the crowd looking confused but at the same time happy.
"Greetings Luna Mia, Congratulations" one of the pack members known to be Isabel told Mia.
Mia couldn't help but wonder what she was being congratulated for as she not told anyone yet about her pregnancy. Just as she stood there, Aiden walked up to her and gave her a smile she couldn't help but wonder why he would smile at her.
Right after that, she saw Stephan at the centre of the crowd, looking all cheerful and happy making a toast.
As Mia tried to get Stephan's attention, Nadia stopped her.
"Oh Nadia, what's going on?, What's happening?....anyways I need to speak to Stephan urgently now about….." Mia was cut short again by Nadia.
"I am pregnant" Nadia said
Mia's heart stopped for a second, Mia could not believe what Nadia just told her as her voice kept ringing in her head. Her eyes were widen and her lips were parted in awe and shock.
*Y..you are what?" Mia asked again to be sure she heard the wrong thing.
"I am pregnant Mia and it's for alpha Stephan. At last the pack will have an heir".
Just as Mia was trying to process all Nadia said, Stephan showed up and wrapped his hands around Nadia's waist.
Mia felt a sharp pain in her throat as she watches her mate staring lovingly at another and not just anybody but her best friend Nadia.
"Won't you congratulate the expecting mother? After three years of waiting on you for an heir, finally Nadia will bore me an heir" Stephan said unapaologetically.
"So, you will have an illicit affair with not just anyone but my best friend and Nadia…." Mia's voice faded off as she couldn't bare the pain of seeing her best friend betray her with her mate.
"Does that matter now?, Is that all you are concerned about? That's why you are barren because you are never happy for anyone" Stephan told Mia without any remorse.
"Congratulations Nadia but I still need to talk to you alone Stephan…. It's important please" Mia pleaded.
"Whatever it is you want to tell me can wait Mia, I want to enjoy this moment first and I won't let you disrupt my joy with your pitiful complain" Stephan said.
Mia still insisted that she wanted to see Stephan alone. As Nadia noticed how persistent Mia is about wanting to see Stephan alone, she knew she had to do something to distract Stephan attention away from Mia.
Nadia had to walked Stephan away from Mia. Mia felt rejected and turned back and she ran to her room with hot tears rolling down her cheeks.
Mia was all alone in her chambers thinking of what just happened while wrapping her hands round her stomach.
"Are you sad" Nadia voice interrupted her thoughts.
Mia turned to face Nadia cleaning the tears off her cheeks
"No, why would I be" Mia responded.
"I mean….it's okay to be sad. I understand how you feel, seeing your best friend carrying the alpha's heir is not something you can stand so it's okay to be sad Mia" Nadia said mocking Mia.
"Don't forget who you are speaking with Nadia, I am the Luna of the pack" Mia said
"A barren Luna at that. Don't forget to add that" Nadia responded sarcastically.
"You are weak, deplorable and barren Mia" Nadia added. Mia felt ridiculed by Nadia but swallowed her pain.
" I am pregnant!, Nadia" Mia blurts out without thinking. Mia brought her hand to cover her flat stomach further proving to Nadia that she is truly pregnant.
Nadia couldn't believe her ears, "no… no…no…. You can't be pregnant Mia. You are just bluffing!" Nadia shouted in frustration.
"Leave me alone Nadia" as she was about walking out of Nadia.
"Where do you think you are going to Mia?, Do you want to tell Stephan you are expecting a child for him?" Nadia asked in frustration.
"Yes, of course. He is my mate Nadia! And I will tell him". Mia raised her voice at Nadia in anger as she tries to stop her from stepping out.
"Who knows if the baby is for someone else Mia and you are trying to pin it on Stephan" Nadia said looking jealous.
"Thump!"
Mia gave Nadia a resounding slap on her cheek and Nadia craddle her face with her hand with anger blaring in her eyes.
"How dare you slap me Mia?" You have just crossed the boundary Mia and I will deal with you!". Nadia said.
"Let me alone Nadia!" Mia cried out as Nadia held her wrist painfully.
Nadia dragged Mia to the balcony of the room, dragging her directly to the edge.
"What are you doing Nadia?" Mia asked.
"What I should have done a long time ago, kill you but then I knew you would still be useful in my game that's why I left you again. But now is the time for me to kill you and your baby and you will be out of our lives forever!" Nadia said.
"Let me go!" Mia growled struggling to get herself off Nadia's grip as she dragged her at the balcony edge.
"You won't be missed Mia" Nadia said bringing her hand forth to give Mia the final push off her balcony edge.
A slight distraction had Mia jumping slightly as she held Nadia's hand to hold herself back from falling but instead she tips Nadia off the railing meeting her own doom.
Mia shierks loudly falling to her feet and scrambling around, hands shaken as she turn round just to see Stephan standing right at the door.
"What have you done Mia!!!" Stephan shouted with his voice ferociously high.
