12 - Do you understand?

ZANE POV

David had been keeping his dad updated about Elle and we would find out this morning about when she could come back and continue with her duties, I had been on edge all morning part of me wanted to know she was okay the better part of me wanted to kill those feelings about her, so I was currently getting my release from Stacey not that she was much help these days. My phone beeped and I looked over to check it 'Meet me in the office alone' it was from Dad, why did he want me now and alone what was that all about? 'Can I bring Sam?' He is going to be my Beta after all. 'Do you understand the meaning of ALONE boy?' Okay I deserved that one. I sighed and got dressed. "Where are you going baby?" Stacey asked "Got a meeting, see you later" I replied as I walked out of the room and too my fathers office. When I got there my father was sat behind his desk and my uncle and cousin were sat on the sofas. "What's going on?" I asked now utterly confused since Dad's Beta wasn't here either. "It's Elle!" David practically shouted I could see the hurt he felt before he turned away. "Okay, first lets start with the video shall we" my uncle spoke up, my father nodded and I looked at the huge screen on the wall opposite my father, I watched the whole time and couldn't believe what I was seeing. "Elle hadn't collected the laundry on Friday morning, she had done her other chores and cooked breakfast, then went to school, once school finished she came here as per your fathers request then went in her room before she was in the kitchen. you saw what really happened in the kitchen but she was taken away to the cells she still hadn't been in Stacey's room, the rest of what you saw was Stacey entering the kitchen this morning and getting the scissors then you saw here in and out of her room after coming back from school before going to the kitchen and then back to her room and putting on a show, so not only did Elle not do what Stacey had claimed but she also didn't cut up Stacey's clothes in fact Stacey did that herself. You beat her for nothing" my cousin spat, I couldn't believe it, I would do anything for Stacey as I love her but I never wanted to hit a woman I always believed that was better left for my female warrior to deal with and she seemed to enjoy it, but the one time I loose it and it wasn't even valid. "Sit down Son" my father said "What's done is done we cannot change it now" he continued "Now, what about the girl is she ready to go back to work" typical my father has never gave a damn about people or their emotions I guess that's why I always try and ignore mine but he is right what can I do about it now? After all Stacey is going to be my mate my packs Luna, that made me angrier at her and myself. "Doctor Henry, said the blood transfusion didn't help speed up the recovery, she isn't entirely sure why. The broken wrist had to be reset as it had been left a week so that should be healed in 5 weeks the cast has to stay on until then, her elbow and knee have settled back into place but she will need some physio to make sure she doesn't have anymore damage. her face is slowly healing there is just a bit of bruising around her nose and jaw her eye is still very bruised but that will heal within 3 weeks. Her ribs are the biggest issue as they take much longer to heal." by the time David had finished I truly felt awful. "So when can she come back to work?" my father asked getting annoyed "Doctor Henry didn't want her to do anything for a while but said she can return to work next week but she will need support." David quickly explained "I will go to the auction house and get her some help. She can still cook and clean downstairs so that's what she will do. I will get another girl who can do upstairs and help with taking out the food. We will keep it like that" I took control knowing my father wanted Elle to be my slave. "When will you go to the auction house?" my father asked "I'll get Sam and go now ill be back by morning with another girl, I will tell Elle the new arrangement before I leave" I told him dismissively. David looked shocked and like he was going to argue before he said "I'll go with you and speak to Doctor Henry" I wondered if he had a crush on Elle and that thought had my anger rising again. I turned to leave the room and David quickly followed once I heard the office door close I turned to him "I do not know what game you are playing but I am watching you David, Don't get close to the servant girl that's all she is all she will ever be." "She is terrified of you, that is why I said I would come along, so you don't scare her into an early grave." he spat back when I didn't respond he continued "So, what will Stacey's punishment be? Will it be as bad as Elle's? Will it be worse?" the fact that he even thought I would hurt Stacey was enough for me to kill him but I had hurt Elle and for nothing it seems. I grabbed him by the neck and pushed him against the wall " DON'T YOU EVER QUESTION ME, THAT LITTLE b***h KNOWS HER PLACE, STACEY WILL BE MINE I WILL DEAL WITH HER PRIVATELY" I spat through clenched teeth. "What do you mean you will deal with my sister privately?" I heard Sam's voice behind me, I put David down and turned to face my bestfriend and Beta. "Don't worry about it Sam, we are going to the auction house pack some stuff and meet me outside in half an hour" I told him before walking off to the hospital, David was following behind not saying a word. 

ELLE POV 

I had woken up later in the morning than usual and had some oats and fruit for my breakfast, David wasn't here and Doctor Henry ... Abby I should say was out on a house call. So I was flicking through TV channels when my door opened and Stacey walked in "Oh so the little b***h is too important to get to work is she, she is too busy putting her feet up and getting people to serve her?" she was tormenting me. "p-please don't, p-please just leave me alone" I begged. "Oh no you little b***h I wanted you dead and I get what I want" she said whilst a sinister smile spread across her face. "Stop please No, Don't. Stay Away" I thought this was a nightmare but then that only really started seconds later when the door opened again and he was stood there eyes on me full of rage again "no no no no" I could hear myself scream but it felt like an out of body experience I was frozen to the spot the lump in my throat now stopped all air completely, my hands completely sweaty and wouldn't stop shaking. "Someone get Doctor Henry back here now" I heard David shout, if David is here I should be safe right? But he is here too and he is dangerous. " Zane Baby what are you doing here?" Stacey said in her sickly high pitched voice, Zane's eyes were still on me and I still couldn't move "Get out of here and stay away from her, you lied Stace, I would do anything for you, I did that for you but you lied. Get out, You won't see me until I can forgive you" Zane had finally looked away from to speak to Stacey but I wasn't expecting that, she ran out the room and didn't look back. Zane then took a step towards me but David was quick to get to me first. "Elle breathe, Abby is on her way" it was David who was speaking to me now and like he said Abby had came within a few moments "both of you outside while I calm her down" Abby said without looking at Zane and David "I need to speak with her" came Zane's gruff reply "And you can once I have seen to my patient now out, this is my place my rules, let me settle Elle and then I will allow you to come back in" Abby replied in a stern voice she wouldn't allow him back in here would she? They both quickly left and Abby started with putting the oxygen mask back on "you need to take a deep breath honey it's going to hurt your ribs more to stay like this" her calm and relaxed voice broke me and I broke into tears whilst trying to breathe each breath feeling like my chest and lungs was being burned and stabbed. Abby quickly sat on the bed and gathered me into her arms as much as possible. "Shh Elle, come on, it's just me and you" Abby was stroking my back and I was quickly calming down "I don't want him in here" I told Abby "Shh we can't stop him if he wants to talk to you okay. I will stay here with you and David will too okay?" Abby told me. I nodded and less than a minute later the door opened. David walked over and asked if I was okay for a conversation I could see he didn't want this but I knew he had no choice I nodded my head unable to get my words out. "Doctor Henry would you mind giving us a moment?" Zane asked "I'm sorry but as you can tell she isn't doing that great at the moment so I would like to stay just to keep an eye on her" Abby replied. "I believe David wanted to speak with you privately while I spoke to Elle here" Zane spoke with authority make me cower away. Abby cleared her throat and said "yes Alpha Zane of course, however I do ask that you keep your distance and don't raise your voice I am afraid she is not very comfortable around males or loud noise" "of course Doc, I will make sure she is okay, you can check on her once I leave" with that being Zane's final warning Abby reluctantly left the room followed by David I couldn't help but feel betrayed, tears silently streamed down my face as he took the seat by the bed. "I will do my best to keep Stacey out of your way however, should you come across your path I hope you will treat her with respect, don't cause trouble you do not wish to receive. I am leaving in a moment to get you some help around the pack house. you will prepare and cook all meals like usual however, the girl I get tonight will carry the plates out. You stay in the kitchen prepare, cook, clean. you will then be in charge of cleaning downstairs, the other girl will clean upstairs and take care of the laundry. Once your chores are done you can retreat to your room and stay there. You will no longer leave to go to school. I will make sure everything you need can be accessed online through the computer in the omega office, you can have 2 hours a day, otherwise David will drop it off for you. You are not to go upstairs EVER. I will request that any meeting that need to be held will be between you and I in the omega office. You will not disobey me, you will not argue back and you will not get in other peoples way do you understand?" Although Zane didn't say it his message was clear 'this is a warning' "Yes I understand" "Good, you obey my rules and I won't pay you any attention, if you upset Stacey she will deal with it accordingly. I hope you learned your lesson, Your back at work next week, you will stay here until then" Zane got up and left after that. David and Abby quickly rushed into the room as I broke down into tears and cried myself to sleep
