Practice was a nightmare. Frank couldn’t concentrate. He alternately worried about sleeping with Dennis and whether or not to tell Bill. Ultimately he decided Bill should be spared that distraction. But what to do about sleeping with Dennis?
Both Dennis and Frank were held back when the general practice ended. Dennis as the newest member of the squad needed more work on several of the apparatuses on which he was less familiar. Frank was there because of his dismal performance. After forty-five minutes of strenuous practice, they were allowed to leave.
They returned to the hotel together, rode the elevator up to the third floor, walked down the hall toward their room, and met the other three guys coming out.
