Chapter 14
Frank walked along with others, making their way back to campus. He arrived at his dorm and went up to his room. It was empty. Mark wouldn’t be back until the beginning of term, still a week away. Frank tossed his backpack, coat, hat, and gloves onto Mark’s bed and stretched out on his own. He stared up at the ceiling. He felt as empty as the room. His phone dinged. It was a text from Bill. The emptiness suddenly left him.
Strider: Frodo, u alone?
Frodo: Yes
Frank waited for a reply but instead the phone rang.
“Hello,” Frank said enthusiastically when he saw the caller ID.
“f**k, Frodo, it’s so good to hear your voice. I saw you today and all I wanted to do was grab you and kiss you, I missed you so much. But…well…you know…”
“I understand.”
“Is Mark back?”
