{Adelynn’s POV}
It’s been a few weeks, and thankfully I was released from the hospital. My parents and brothers all coddled me so much and when we go home they showed me that they had completely remodeled me a room upstairs on their floor for when I’m able to walk. It was beautiful, the walls were painted in a pale grey color, with white bookshelves built into the right wall. Straight ahead was a bay window, with a cushioned seat for me, pillows and blankets scattered across it. A fireplace was built in between the bookshelves, and a massive kind sized bed with white and grey blankets sat against the wall right next to the door. On the left wall, two doors, one leading to a bathroom, and one to a walk in closet. “Thank you all.. this is beautiful..” I smiled, turning my chair towards them. “I love it!”
“We’re so glad!” Mom said, rushing to my side and pulling me into a hug. “We know that you’re all grown up, but we hope that you’ll stay with us a while at least, and even when you leave, we want you to know that you’ll always have a place here.” She smiled, kissing the top of my head.
“Thank you all.. you guys are amazing!” I said, looking around to each of them. “I’d love to stay a while, and really get to know you all.”
“Good! Because we want you to stay as long as you want to!” Theo said, walking over and kneeling down in front of me. “There’s something else we wanted to talk about with you. There’s a party.. it’s at our friend’s house, and it’s for all of the prominent families in town. It’s at the Lynch residence, our friend Marcus Lynch invited our entire family, including you. The issue being..” he began, looking up at me from his place in the floor in front of me. “Marcus is very close to Oliver Parker.. who is Lola’s older brother. We don’t think that they would be stupid enough to try to mess with you, but I know how Lola is, she may have spun the story to make you look bad. As of this morning, Lola is still on house arrest, so she shouldn’t be there.” He said, taking my hand in his. “You absolutely do not have to go, but if you’d like to, we would love to have you there.” He smiled at me, and I folded immediately.
I nodded. “Of course I’ll go.” I smiled, “I’ll need mom to help me get ready though..” I said, looking over my shoulder to her.
“I’m so glad you’re coming!” She giggled. “I can’t wait to introduce you to all of my friends.” She said, turning on her heel and rushing from the room, coming back with her arms full of dresses. “What are we waiting for! Let’s get her into my bedroom so I can get her ready!” She cheered, leading the way, as my father pushed me to their room.
For the next couple hours mom picked out dress after dress, fixed my hair and makeup, and talked about all of her friends who were going to be so excited to meet me. Meeting new people.. something I’m so good at.. The thought of it made my skin crawl, but, this is my family.. this is their world, and I knew that this was important to my mother. She curled my hair, pulling half of it up, and leaving half of it down. She did a simple, light makeup look on me, and helped me into an elegant white dress. It had a scoop neck, that showed off my perky breasts, and a slit up my right leg that went to my mid thigh. It hugged my curves perfectly, and as I looked at myself in the mirror, I recognized myself as a woman instead of a scared little girl. It was spaghetti strapped, and since it was getting chilly out, being mid September, she gave me a white blazer, helping me pull it on.
“You’re ready!” She cheered. “I’ve always wanted to do this.. have a makeover with my daughter..” she smiled, tears pricking in her eyes. “Thank you.. so much Adelynn.” She smiled, pulling me into a hug.
I looked up at her, smiling before turning back to my reflection. “Thank you..” I whispered. “I’ve never felt this beautiful.. I feel like a woman for the first time in my life.” I said, looking over myself. “Thank you so much mama..” I smiled, then I realized what I had said.
She froze, staring down at me with tears in her eyes. “D-Did you just call me mama?” She asked.
I nodded, covering my mouth. “I’m sorry.. I shouldn’t..” I began.
She stopped me, pulling me into a hug. “Thank you my sweet girl.. don’t ever be sorry for calling me mama.. that’s who I am.” She smiled, pulling back and looking down at me. “Your father I know would kill over if you called him dad, or pop like the boys do.” She said, turning me towards the door. “I’ll go get Theodore to help me get you back downstairs.” She said, opening the door and shouting out for Theo.
When he came into the room, he froze in the doorway looking over me before a soft smile formed on his lips. “You look beautiful Addie.” He smiled, walking over and lifting me into his arms.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, and leaned against him. “Thank you Theo.” I smiled, as he packed me down the stairs, my father grabbing my chair and bringing it downstairs. Theo sat me down, and rolled me into the living room where my other brothers and my grandmother sat waiting. “Well, how do I look?” I asked, smiling softly.
“Awe! My beautiful grand baby!” My grandmother shouted, rushing to my side and hugging me.
“Are you sure that it’s okay to wear that dress? Doesn’t it show off too much of her?” Liam asked, walking over and looking down at me.
I smiled up at him. “I feel pretty.. isn’t that enough?” I asked.
He sighed, crossing his arms over his chest and nodding. “Yeah, yeah.. you do look beautiful sis!” He smiled.
My father walked around, kissing my cheek. “Our girl is stunning!” He said, smiling down to me. “Are you ready for this?” He asked.
I nodded. “Ready when you are pop.” I smiled.
He looked as though he’d cry, before turning away from me. “Alright everyone, go get loaded up, we’ve got a party to get to!” He said, ushering everyone out the door.
Before long we were pulling up to another massive mansion. As we got out of the car, and Theo helped me into my chair we could hear people talking and drinking out back. We walked around the house, making it to a side gate, and making our way into the back yard. Everyone’s eyes turned to us, as I pulled my jacket closed around me. I felt over exposed, and terrified with everyone looking at us. Mom took me over, introducing me to some of her friends, they all fussed over me, asking what happened, and how I am.. to be honest I zoned out a while into our conversation, deciding to excuse myself, and take a second to just breathe.
