1: Fallen angels
Prologue:
"We were angels, but then, we had to fall. Be brave my darling girl, and you will see me again." This was the last thing she said to me before turning into the darkness, leaving me alone, vulnerable. She left to protect me, but what she didn't know was that I would never be safe. She didn't know that she was handing me to fate's open arms.
Chapter 1:
I think I was seven when the Gods decided I was powerful, and therefore, useful. Athena, Goddess of wisdom, was my teacher. She taught me how to be clever, so I could outsmart my enemy, how to fight, so I could defeat them in battle, she taught me history, so I would know not to repeat it's mistakes. She didn't teach me about love, only spoke of it when referring to Man's lack of free will whilst under the spell. In fact, the only person who ever taught about love was Hera, Queen of the Gods, but she was exiled after poisoning one of Zeus' lovers.
Whilst Man taught their offspring how to find a suitable candidate to live, produce offspring, and then depart life with, I was taught how to deceive them into thinking everything was peaceful, whilst fighting our ancient enemies as a warrior in battle.
You have no idea what it's like, for your every move to be watched and assessed. The course of history rests on my shoulders every time I go into battle. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be human. I mean, they have no real responsibility, no saving the world, no having to decide what side you want to be on, no lives that depend on them. They live about sixty years of leisurely walks in the park and cooking dinner, and then they have the pleasure and release of dying. I don't even get that.
