LILIANA POV I’m standing in a field I don’t recognize. The breeze blows lightly and I turn to see a giant building. It looks like an old barn that’s rotting away with age. Something in me pushes me towards the rotten building. As I walk the distance to the barn I take the time to absorb my surroundings. It’s close to sundown so everything is coated in an orange glow. As I reach the barn an eerie feeling creeps up my neck. The giant barn door groans as I pull it open and step inside. The first thing that hits me is the smell of blood, the next is the smell of my daughters. Panic rises up inside me as I rush forward into the large open space. There’s chains hanging from the ceiling that ominously sway back and forth. There’s a table that’s flipped on its side and three chairs in similar disarray. Two of the chairs are drenched in blood causing my whole body to tremble. “Daniella? Rosalina?” I call out into the empty building, but all I’m met with is the sound of the wind. I step closer to the blood and furniture. My bare foot steps into the cold, thick blood and visions flash before my eyes. My daughters bound and gagged, covered in cuts. Tears stain my Daniella’s cheeks, but my Rosalina is too proud, determined to keep a straight face. She says something I can’t hear to someone I can’t see. The next thing I see is an arm lashing out, then a thin line forms across Rosalina’s throat. She opens her mouth and blood pours out. Daniella’s mouth opens with a silent scream as she yells at the unseen person. The arm lashes out again, this time the blade stabs Daniella in her chest. I watch as both my daughters turn to each other, tears rolling down both of their cheeks. Their eyes roll back and their chairs topple over as they die. I wake up screaming and thrashing around. Two sets of strong arms grab ahold of me. Sparks and tingles erupt all over my body, calming me slightly. “Baby, what’s wrong?” Rafael asks from my right. “Are you okay, mi amor?” Diego asks from my left. Sobs wrack through my body as I tremble in their hold. “My girls, my sweet girls.” I sob as I envision their dying faces. “Tell us what happened, baby.” Rafael asks as he pulls me into his lap. Diego wraps his arms around both of us, getting as close as possible. I melt into their embrace as they both begin playing with my hair. “I had a vision of our daughters dying.” I sob and they both tense up. “Tell us everything.” Diego demands in a low voice. As I explain my vision I feel their fear and anxiety rolling off of them. Rafael trembles beneath me, Diego is breathing harshly against my back. “I don’t understand, I saw their futures, I saw their lives. Something must have happened.” I speak my thoughts aloud. “Maybe it was just a nightmare?” Diego adds with hope in his voice. “No, my love, it was a vision from the Goddess.” I say sadly as I hold his hand in my lap. “What are we going to do?” Rafael asks into my hair. “We need to talk to our daughters, see what’s going on.” I reply with determination. DANIELLA POV I woke to the sound of knocking on our dorm room door. “Who the f**k is that?” Rosa grumbled from her pile of blankets and pillows. “I don’t know.” I reply groggily as I check the time. It’s eight in the morning on a sunday, who is bothering us? Reluctantly I climb out of bed and down my little ladder. I cross the short distance and throw the door open. The sight before me has my back tensing. “Um, hey.” I say awkwardly to my parents. Before I can say anything else my mom rushes to me. She wraps her arms around me tightly and squeezes me. I look between my dad and papa Rafael trying to get an understanding of what’s going on. They look exhausted and stressed. Worry immediately churns in my gut. “What happened?” I ask as I hold my mother. “I had a vision.” She says as she leans back, tears rolling down her cheeks. “A vision of what?” Rosa asks from behind me. “It was a vision of your deaths.” A shocked gasp escapes me and I look over my shoulder at Rosa. Her lips are set in a hard line as she gazes at us. “Come inside.” She says, stepping out of the way to let our parents into our small room. Our room looks tiny with our parents filling the space. Papa Rafael is huge and my dad isn’t that much smaller than him. My mom on the other hand is the same size as my sister and I. I’m sure most people that saw the three of us thought we were sisters. “Mama, take a seat.” I tell her as I pull out my chair from my desk area. Rosa and I’s father stand at our closed door like warriors. Rosa nods her head to her chair and I take a seat as she opts to stand. She’s always been more of a warrior just like our dads. “What happened, mama?” Rosa asks as she crosses her arms and stands behind me. “I had a vision last night of your deaths and it was horrific.” Mama shudders and tears leak from her green eyes. “But I don’t understand, I thought you knew our future?” Rosa asks before I can. “I’ve only seen a few glimpses into your future. I know enough that neither of you are meant to be Alphas.” I hear Rosa huff next to me and I can only imagine she’s rolling her eyes. “Is it because we rejected our mate?” I ask and my mom stares at me with shock. “You did what?” I hear my father ask. I snap my head around to take in our parents' shocked faces. “Rosa, you didn’t tell them?” I ask as I turn to her last. She’s biting into her knuckle as she looks down at me with a guilty face. “You and Bill both said you told them!” I groan loudly. “Bill knows?” Papa Rafael snaps. “Okay, okay, we can be mad later, but right now I need to know what happened, girls.” My mother says, trying to calm us down. “Let me start from the beginning.” They all straighten up, giving me their full attention.
