"Are you tired?" Xavier asks his wife who is lying on her back in the seat as she is not driving.

"Not really, I'm fine, I am the wife of Xavier Rodriguez. What can happen to me" Bella replies waving her hand but Xavier knows she's lying. She is his wife he knows when she is sad and happy.

After all, he can read his wife like an open book, and adding to that Bella is now pregnant. She's in her ninth month and ready to pop the baby out any time soon. She should be at home, resting but no, she wanted to attend the party. It wasn't even that important for her to attend but it being her friend's engagement ceremony, she decided she attends it. Her friend was being considerate and told her it was fine if Bella couldn't attend but the Bella wanted to attend. She was almost on the verge of tears when Xavier didn't allow her to go but seeing her tears, Xavier couldn't say no and finally took her to the party.

Now they're on the way back home after attending the party. It went well and Bella got to meet all her friends. She's happy but tired at the same time.

"I know you're lying, I am your husband I know everything about you" Xavier comments as he looks up at the sky through the window, it's dark and too cloudy giving him weird feelings.

"Okay, I do feel tired but I'm fine. All I want to do is just lay down and sleep, like forever." Bella mumbles, already closing her eyes.

She gently rubs her belly and a smile pulls over her lips at the thought of going to see and hold her baby soon. She can't wait for the arrival of their first child but she can wait until it's the right time for the baby's birth. They already prepared everything for the child. As they didn't know the gender because they wanted it to be a surprise, they bought everything unisex so that it can be suitable even if it was a boy or a girl.

She's happy with how her life is going on. As a child, she never had any problems. Her parents are very well off as her father is one of the top businessmen in the country. She studied in a well-known school and university and earned a first-class master's degree after which she joined her father's company and worked as a CEO. Xavier and she were childhood friends as their parents are friends from their college days. When Bella and Xavier turn 18 both confessed their love. Xavier and Bella both were happy. Their marriage wasn't forcefully arranged by their parents. They loved each other as they grew up and wanted to be with each other forever.

When they put this in front of their parents, they agreed immediately. They got married a year ago. And now they're going to bring a new family member who is going to be their everything. She's happy, she is the happiest person alive. Bella has a loving family and a husband who loves her more than the world. And with their baby going to arrive soon, she can't put any words to her happiness. All these happy thoughts put her to sweet sleep.

"Honey, stop saying those words. It's bad to talk like that," Xavier calls him out but the Bella is already in dreamland and mew could hear her little snores.

Xavier chuckles at his wife before he safely drives the car as the weather changed drastically. When they left the party, it was still fine though it was already night, it was normal. But now the sky is crowded with heavy clouds which are filled with water that's going to drop any time soon. As if on cue, it started pouring immediately, not just small rain drops but it was too heavy with great force that Xavier could hear the raindrops hitting the roof of the car. He curses at the sudden situation and continues to drive safely, for the safety of his wife and their baby.

Xavier pays full attention to the road because the roads are bumpy and filled with rain water making him very conscious. However, when he hears a groan from Bella, for a second he turns to her to see what's wrong with her. But he didn't know that one second would change his life forever. When he turned to Bella, the vehicle coming from the other side went straight and hit his car hard. Because of heavy rains, the driver in the other car didn't see the road properly and lost their balance as he ended up invading the other side of the road.

As both the cars bumped together, a loud sound resonates in the air and fire explodes. Xavier hits his head on the side window while Bella's seat which was in la aying position, the spring pulls up and she gets thrown to the front, hitting her head hard in the process. The safety airbags couldn't help them a little with the effect of the accident.

Xavier, Bella, and the driver in the other car along with the passenger all lose unconsciousness because of the accident and are covered in blood. The passersby who saw the scene immediately called for an ambulance and in no time the injured people were taken to the hospital.

The hospital management recognizes Xavier and Bella as they are well-known business tycoons and also because they're family friends with one of the hospital heads, Doctor Jeck. It so happened that it was the same hospital where they have been attending for checkups for Bella when she got pregnant. So they know them and know how to treat them. Xavier and Bella are taken to the VIP section of the OR room and are provided with immediate assistance. The hospital people also called Xavier and Bella's family and informed them about the accident.

On the other hand, the driver and passenger from the other car are taken into the OR room for general people treatment. From the identity card of the driver, they called the cab management and informed them about the accident. And when they wanted to call the passenger's family, they could only find one contact named Alice. It was surprising but they didn't have time to ponder for long. So they quickly called the person and asked her to come to the hospital.

"How are my son and my daughter-in-law? Are they fine? Where are they?" Xavier's mother, Mrs.Rodriguze calls out as they storm into the hospital.

"Madam, please wait here. They're both taken to the operating room now and the doctors are treating them. Please wait." One of the nurses says, stopping them as they try to walk past them and enter the room.

They look at the nurse before nodding at her and stand out at the door as they wait for the doctor to come out. Every second that's passing by feels like an eternity for them but they patiently wait for their Son and daughter-in-law. After what seems like forever, the doors to the OR room finally open and the doctor walks out. The look on his face is deadly which brings worry to the parents and makes them feel nervous.

"Jack, they're fine, right? Everything is okay, isn't it?" Bella's father, Mr. David, asks doctor jack immediately. As friends from college, they don't mind informal ways of addressing each other.

"I don't know how to tell you." Doctor Jack replies letting out a sigh.

"Just tell us, whatever it is." Xavier's father, Mr. Benz, urges impatiently.

"Xavier is fine, He has minor injuries that don't harm him. though he got injured pretty badly the wounds aren't that deep. There's no big damage to any of his body parts. I can say he's fine. It'll take some time for him to recover though within a week to ten days he can walk and do things on his own, he just needs rest." Doctor Jack tells them, making them sigh in relief.

"Then what about Bella? And the baby? They're also fine, right?" Mrs. Aom queries, scared of thinking whether her daughter-in-law and grandchild are fine or not.

"About them," Doctor Jack starts, taking a look at them, and continues before shaking his head, "the baby is fine, we operated on her and removed the baby. It's a baby girl. Though the baby is safe, just to be careful we put her in the incubator."

"If the baby is fine, it also means Bella is alright." Mrs. Rodriguez mumbles, assuring herself.

"That's the problem." Doctor Jack's voice makes her look at him immediately in worry, "She got badly hurt, looks like her head got hit hard to a hard surface. By the time they got here, she was barely alive. Seeing her condition we removed the baby first otherwise the baby would be in danger too and was going to operate on later. But as she lost lots of blood because of the accident and while removing the baby, everything went out of our hands. We're sorry, we couldn't save her. She's no more."
