Vampire Bite

ACT ONE; SCENE EIGHTEEN

PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL

SAKIKO'S CLASS

SAKIKO walks back into her class and her teacher drops his jaw in surprise at her return so soon. But he didn't say anything else when SAKIKO quietly and calmly went to her seat, sits down and stares back at the teacher. The class is awkwardly silent as the teacher clears his throat and continues on with the lesson. And in due time the lesson is soon going in one ear and out the other as SAKIKO grabs out a sheet of paper and starts doodling. Right behind her sat a boy who wore glasses, and every now and then he would glance at SAKIKO and look down to see what she is doodling. He smiles to himself and moves closer to her to not be heard by others.

HIRO (whispers) : Hey Sakiko.

SAKIKO doesn't completely turn around, but tilts her head to hear him better.

HIRO (continues) : Good job kicking those girls' ass, they really deserved it.

SAKIKO is shock to hear a compliment but knew he isn't the only one who thought those smug girls needed a lesson.

SAKIKO (giggles) : Thanks.

HIRO starts fidgeting with his hands.

HIRO: If you want, we can go to my house sometime later and, ya know, play some video games? If that's cool?

The bell rings and SAKIKO sighs in relief as she happily gathers her things to leave class, she looks over at the boy and looks him over. He had handsome facial features and wore nice clothing, brown hair that's kept neat except for some strands curving up slightly. Dark brown eyes, almost black with smooth light brown skin, SAKIKO couldn't deny he's cute but the only interest of topic she likes is video games.

SAKIKO: Sounds fun! I'll just have to tell AKISE about it or else she will flip out and nearly destroy half your city trying to find me.

SAKIKO laughs at her inside joke, but HIRO makes a face at the mention of AKISES name. Quickly turning his expression to a more relaxed state, he smiles, picks up his things and together they left class.  

HIRO: I'm Hiro by the way, like a superhero, Hiro.

SAKIKO (laughs) : That's cool! Well, my next class is right here, I have P.E.

HIRO (smiles brightly) : Cool! So do I!

And without another thought they walk up to the gym doors, AKISE notices SAKIKO passing by but instantly sees the boy next to her. SAKIKO doesn't notice her as she continues to laugh along with him, as much as AKISE wanted to play girlfriend she left them alone. 'It's nice to see her laughing along with someone that isn't me', AKISE sadly smiles from afar. Watching the two go in she watches HIRO try to take hold of SAKIKO'S hand but misses the chance the moment she moves it to move her bangs behind her ear. Then AKISES defenses come up again and she starts to second guess the boy's ulterior motive, weaving in and out through the sea of people she follows them. But when HIRO and SAKIKO get inside the gym, HIRO takes SAKIKO by the hand and runs to a janitors closet. Hiding themselves in there, HIRO cracks open the door to peer outside. Immediately he sees AKISE and the undeniable curly dark blue hair, start searching for them. HIRO holds his breath in anticipation but once the bell rang AKISE gives up in defeat, turns around and leaves the gym. All the while SAKIKO stands there in confusion, crossing her arms across her chest, waiting for him to finally turn around and explain himself. HIRO finally shuts the door and turns around coming up closer to SAKIKO, she can see the panic set in his eyes.

HIRO (panics) : So about that video game, can you come to my house today.

Suspicion turns to worry as SAKIKO keeps staring on at this guy, to her, it doesn't really sounded like he wants her to come.

SAKIKO: What's wrong? You act like a rabbit monster is going to attack you? Are you being forced to ask me this?

HIRO (shakes head and holds up hands in defense) : No! That's not-

SAKIKO gave him a look, and in that split second HIRO caves.

HIRO (sighs) : Yeah. Yeah, I am. You're my target, I'm supposed to bring you in to the boss so he could get AKISE, but, you're so . . . adorable. I just couldn't do that to you.

HIRO gives SAKIKO a sheepish smile, but up close she can see the two pointed fangs indicating the obvious. 'How the hell did I not notice that earlier', SAKIKO thinks.

HIRO (determined) : I won't let him hurt you though okay?

With that being said he leaves the closet, leaving SAKIKO in a state of shock, replaying the events over and over to get a clearer understanding of the situation.

SAKIKO (talks to self) : What the f**k just happened?!
