Chapter Eighteen

786 Words
Leila It has been one day since Baelan called people for help. And now loads of vampires were in my house. I felt so awkward, I was the only human. And I just happened to be a vampire hunter as well. But none of them knew that. Me and Baelan decided to go with the story that I was just Lloyd's human girlfriend wanting to find him. The vampires agreed they wouldn't feed in Pavington,l but I wasn't comfortable with them feeding on anyone. It had to be done, they couldn't starve. About thirty-five vampires showed up. They were all out looking for any signs of Lloyd. All of them returning with no information on his whereabouts. Baelan broke the news about Scott's death and they were all speechless. The silence spread throughout the house for nearly two hours. I felt horrible, my family did this. My own brother did this. Killing vampires has never been an issue for my family, but we had been killing other families. Seeing the aftermath of our actions has really hit home for me. I wanted to hug each other these people, apologise for all of their friends who probably lost their lives due to my family. Despite this, I could feel something in the air, I think everyone else could as well. Hope. I could feel hope. We actually had a chance to get Lloyd back. I don't know whether everyone was planning to kill the First Borns but I had a very strong feeling that as long a Lloyd is still alive (I pray that he is) that we will save him. Everyone was sitting on the floor in the room that used to be the living room, Baelan chatted to our guests. I lent against the doorframe, thinking… If my parents ever found out I was with a group of vampires plotting to save another vampire, they'd kill me. Joseph's P.O.V It had been a long time now since I caught Lloyd. And still no sign of this Leila girl. If I got her then I would get the rest of her family. I'm sure she would try to save her precious Lloyd. And as would his brother Baelan. I had a history with the three Dallesandro Brother's. I used to admire them. Infact, I was the one who turned them into vampires. I've been alive for nearly nine hundred years now. And I've never felt I truly belonged anywhere. My siblings and I have roamed the Earth destroying everything in our path, getting everything we want. The people who knew about vampires, served us. And the people who didn't know about vampires, they were our dinner. Speaking of dinner, I was hungry. I was walking past a sign that read 'Pavington College' There was bound to be something for me there. As I walked into the College, a girl was walking out. She had fiery red hair that curled slightly and cascaded down her shoulders and reached her elbows. She had her College books under her right arm as she was texting. I tilt my head one side. She would do. As she walked through the college door the books under her arm fell to the ground. This was my chance. I make my way over to her, kneeling down down and helping her pick them all up. I smile and hand them back to her. "Thank you." She smiles back, her blue eyes glistening in the sun. Her shiny red hair reflects in the light. "No problem. Hey do you want me to carry them to your car for you?" I say, turning on the charm for her. "Well thank you again! That is really kind of you." She said, twirling the red locks in between her fingers. We walks towards the car. I place the books on the roof of the green Fiat as she smiles at me again. Now was my chance. I leaned in towards her, focusing on her eyes. I was trying to get into her head, a perk of being an old and powerful vampire. before I kill her, I search through her mind for any information that may relate to Leila Taylor. It wasn't very hard. The human mind is a simple place for a vampire to weave their way in to. And then her eyes tightly locked to mine, her pupils pulsing, nearly covering all the blue that glowed in her eyes. "Now. Don't scream. Because this is going to be the worst evening of your life." I say, no time for pleasantries. She nods, following my orders. The corners of my mouth turned up into a gruesome, evil smile as I lead her into the woods.
