Chapter 4: The Closer I Get To You

Xian woke up early, he wanted to make sure that everything was all set for their trip, He already called his parents to confirm if they were going,

"Xian, are you trying to keep Tabitha to yourself, of course we are going but we may come in late, because your dad still had an early appointment that he cannot cancel." his mother said.

"Okay you take care, We'll see you there." Xian said to his mother.

Then Xian called Tabitha but the line was busy. He tried to redial but it was still busy. He went to his laptop and tried to send her a direct message since she was online.

Taby laughed when she read the message, because she was also trying to call him earlier.

"Hi, my princess, and why are you laughing" Xian asked when he finally was able to call her.

"Nothing, I just find you cute." and she laughed again while on the phone.

"Really, well you better get ready, I'll wait for you outside" Xian ended the call.

Taby run out from their dorm because she doesn't want to keep Xian waiting outside,

While on the road, they talked non-stop, she found out that Xian can already be exempted and not complete college but he chose not to and still attended school, which is good, because if that was the case then she might not have the chance to see him, although since their families knew each other then they will still meet no matter what. That made Taby smile.

When they arrived at Tabitha's home, she noticed that her brother's car are all parked outside. "hmm.. those rascal they better not give Xian a hard time" Taby said to herself.

Just as she expect her brother's were all line up waiting to greet them.

"Tabitha, welcome home, little sister" they all said in chorus. Taby glare at them.

"where's dad?" Taby asked.

as if on que her dad came out from the house.

"Taby, daddy miss you." her dad hug her tightly.

"Xian welcome to our home, your parents called in saying they might come in early, you might be tired from your trip, you can rest and freshen up first." said by Mr. Montgomery.

"Thank you for inviting us to your home sir," Xian said respectfully.

"You can just call me Uncle Bradford." he said with a smile.

Xian's parents came in around lunch time and he noticed that they're not the only guest in the house, everybody was busy making preparation for something.

"Is there a party?" Xian asked Taby.

"Well, dad said that they're having a reunion, so I'm guessing yes. and It's not everyday that he get to see his old friends." Taby said.

"So, Is there any place where we can talk?"

"Yes, there is, follow me." Taby said leading the way to a path way on the back.

It was actually a beachfront, where Taby spent most of her time.

"I used to go here whenever I feel sad or happy, It's like my secret hideout, although its not really a secret." she said laughing.

Xian watch as she laughed, She looked so beautiful.

"someone is really happy" Xian hugged her from behind, and Taby slightly lean her head to his shoulder.

"well, this is the first time that I invited someone special to my secret hideout"

"hmm.. really?" Xian tease her

Taby turn around to face him.

"Yes, that's the truth." Taby said proudly

Xian lean closer to her face. "I believe you" then he slowly kiss her lips.

Taby was caught off guard. She told herself to relax and just savor the moment. Taby responded to the kiss.

Xian was very careful with her, he doesn't want to make her feel like he's pressuring her. After the sweet moment that they share he embrace her again, and both of them watch the sunset.

The next day Tabitha can't keep herself from smiling and whenever she remember their kiss, she always blushed. She saw that Xian and his parents were outside, she slowly walked towards them.

"Good Morning." she greeted them.

"Good Morning to you too." Xian reply and he was grinning. Tabitha blushed right away. Then Xian laughed, and received a pinch from his mother.

"Xian Brent, why are you making fun of Taby?" Aunt Beatrice asked,

"because she looks so adorable" he reply directly.

Both of their parents looked at each other and they nod with a pleasant smile. Their eyes were like making a silent agreement already.

Taby was over the moon, she still can't believe that Xian spent most of his spring break with her, although he had to leave early because he needs to attend another competition, for her the time that they spent together was somethng that she will cherish forever.
