Jared's POV.
A sudden, eerie feeling gripped my heart, causing me to freeze in place. My eyes darted around the room, my senses on high alert, trying to make sense of what I had just heard.
It was a voice, unmistakably clear, calling out to me. For the first time, it sent shivers down my spine, a sensation I hadn't experienced before.
My brows furrowed in confusion, and I pressed my lips together as I scanned the room.
It was utterly silent, except for the racing thoughts in my head. I was alone in a room, and there was no meaningful explanation for why I had heard that voice.
My mind raced, trying to dismiss it as a figment of my imagination, a trick my mind was playing on me.
