Anthony and Elizabeth spent the rest of the night fussing over Margaret and wondering why, and how, she had so stealthily left the Palace and gotten so far into the maze. They had not heard her leave, they had not seen her since she had left the dining room with Elizabeth, and she had been gone for almost an hour and a half when they had found her. Eventually they resigned themselves to the fact that she would not tell them anything except that she 'wanted some fresh air' and went into the garden to get some. They all went to bed then, Elizabeth and Anthony reluctantly and grumpily. Anthony and Margaret had to share a bed at the Palace, of course, because Elizabeth had no idea about the arrangement they had between the two of them.
