Chapter 5; Founders party

2500 Words
Lilly Today is the founders party which Damon had gotten us invited to thanks to his bloodbag girlfriend. I was so happy that an event had come up because this town was getting boring for me and I don’t think I could last much longer without going bat s**t crazy. Yesterday Zach had the same conversation he had with me when I first came back to the boarding house, only this time with Damon. It ended with Damon strangling him but he stopped when I told him to, I couldn’t let him kill our last living relative. Damon covered both of our tracks since I heard on the news yesterday that a Puma Mountain Lion had been captured and blamed the deaths on the animal. I know why he wanted to stay in town, unlike Steffie, and that’s why I was here. To finish something that was supposed to be done 145 years ago. Letting out a sigh I stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around me before walking into my closet getting changed into a summer bodycon dress that had thin straps over the shoulders. I decided to curl my hair for a change before doing my make-up which consisted of eyeshadow, blusher and lipstick. Once I was ready I stepped into a pair of black peep toe high heels, before I walked out of my room, only to stop in my tracks as I listened to Damon and Stefans conversation. “1864. You and Katherine were the perfect couple. It was hell watching you dance with her” I rolled my eyes when I realised that they’re talking about Katherine. “My happiness was short lived, as you well know” Stefan spoke quietly making me sigh. After all this time they’re both still strung up on her. “I remember” Damon laughed. “I left the party earlier, I was waiting for her. The night you dropped her off, I was waiting just inside. You were such a gentleman, gave her a kiss on the cheek, and what she really wanted was… Oh well, here’s to history repeating itself” I heard a glass drop on the floor making me raise my eyebrows wanting to know what was going off. “I admire your effort, Stefan. Pouring yourself a drink then spiking the bottle with vervain... I’m not some drunk sorority chick, you can’t roofie me. But I can’t help but feel a little used, I thought we were having a moment” Deciding to ruin the moment I walked into Stefan’s room. “What’s going off between you 2 now?” “I’ll have to go to the party angry. Who knows what I’ll do” Damon spoke looking at Stefan before walking out of the room, ignoring my presence. I looked over at Stefan raising my eyebrows with my arms crossed over my chest. “What the bleeding hell do you think you’re playing at!?” I snapped once I knew Damon had gone. “It needs to be done, he’s unstable” I rolled my eyes shaking my head. “What? He’s unstable because he’s covered his tracks, or he’s unstable because you think he’s gonna get in your human girlfriend’s pants?” He rolled his eyes but ignored me. “That’s what I thought, but are you really that stupid to not know that he would be able to smell the vervain?” “Of course I knew he would, that’s exactly what I wanted. Now he’s gonna lower his guard, he won’t expect me to try again so soon” I raised my eyebrows impressed. “I guess you still do have some brain cells after all” Stefan raised his eyebrows before shaking his head. “Where are you going anyway?” I smirked at him. “It’s been a while since I last attended a founder’s party” I shrugged before walking out of his room. “See you there brother” I walked downstairs grabbing my car keys before walking out to my car to drive off to the Lockwood’s home for this founders party. As I got there I spotted Damon stood waiting to go in with Caroline so I decided to join him since I needed to get invited in. “Damon” He looked over at me smiling. “You look nice” I smirked flipping my hair over my shoulder. “Are you kidding? I look hot” He rolled his eyes as we stepped upto the door waiting to be invited in, unlike Caroline who could easily step over the threshold. “Caroline, you look smashing” Carol Lockwood exclaimed as she came walking over to us giving Caroline a hug. “Thank you, Mrs Lockwood. This is my boyfriend Damon and his sister Lilly” Caroline introduced us. “Oh, well, come on in” I smiled at her before stepping over the threshold and into the house. “Lovely to meet you, I’ve been looking forward to this party for quite a while” Damon smiled at the mayor’s wife, I rolled my eyes because ‘quite a while’ means 145 years. “Well, enjoy” She smiled before walking off. “Well I’m gonna get a drink” I mumbled before heading towards the little bar thing. I got myself a glass of wine as I took a seat, just as someone came and sat next to me, that someone being Damon. “Where’s your girlfriend?” I questioned looking at him from the corner of my eye. “Talking to her mother” He told me before getting himself a glass of whiskey. “What? Mother dearest doesn’t approve of her teenage daughter dating an older man?” I questioned finally turning my head towards him, my eyes catching Stefan and Elena who had just walked through the door. Damon shrugged before turning around his own eyes landing on Stefan who was whispering something into her ear making her laugh. I looked at Damon who didn’t look happy with the public display they were putting on. “Why the long face?” I mussed my lips twitching knowing exactly why, she looked like Katherine, the girl he still loves like the i***t he is. Instead of answering me he downed his drink before walking off. “Nice talking to you” I grumbled before I headed outside to mingle. I thought coming here would be a bad idea since I didn’t know anybody here and I wasn’t really interested in their human lives, but a couple of hours later after been bored to death when I heard Stefan and Elena talking as they looked at the historical artefacts. “Wow, look. It’s the original guest registry” I looked up at the list of names she was looking at, but made sure I was still hidden. I flicked my eyes over to Stefan who started walking over to her. “Look at all these familiar names. Sheriff William Forbes, Mayor Benjamin Lockwood. Is that Damon Salvatore? … and Lilly and Stefan Salvatore?” “The original Salvatore siblings. Our ancestors” I spoke walking over to them, making them both snap their heads towards me. “Tragic story actually” Damon mussed as he walked into the room with Caroline hanging off his arm with a smile on her face. “We don’t need to bore them with the stories of the past” Stefan spoke staring at Damon. “It’s not boring, Stefan. I’d love to hear about your family” Elena spoke snapping them both out of their staring contest, but before we could start our family history story, Caroline spoke up. “Well I’m bored, I want to dance and Damon won’t dance with me” “N-n” Damon shook his head looking back at Stefan. “Can I just borrow your date?” Caroline asked Elena making me raise my eyebrows before looking over at Damon who was smirking. What the hell his he up to now? “Oh, huh” Elena laughed flicking her eyes to Damon before turning her head towards Stefan who gave Caroline a small smile shaking his head. “I don’t really dance” “Oh, sure he does. You should see him, waltz, the jitterbug, the moonwalk. He does it all” Damon mussed. “Don’t forget the cha-cha” I chuckled joining in with the conversation. Caroline looked at me before turning her attention to her best friend. “You wouldn’t mind would you, Elena?” I flicked my eyes over to Katherines look-a-like who took a deep breath looking up at the ceiling. “It’s up to Stefan” She gave a fake smile as she looked over at Steffie. “Well, sorry, but I’m not gonna take no for an answer” Caroline spoke as she grabbed Stefans wrist pulling him out of the room. Damon turned around coming to stand in between me and Elena as we watched Caroline and Steffie walk out of the room, Damon with a smirk on his face. “I want to apologise to you for been such a world class jerk the other night when I tried to kiss you, there’s no excuse” Damon started making Elena look at him. “My therapist say’s I’m acting out, trying to punish Stefan” “For what?” She asked with a laugh flicking her eyes over to me. “It happened a long time ago” Damon told her making me chuckle. “Let’s just say the men in the Salvatore family have been cursed with sibling rivalry… and it all started with the original Salvatore brothers” I told her as I nodded my head over to the guest list from 1864. “Tell me about them” She basically begged looking at me and my brother. “The Salvatore name was practically royalty in this town, until the war… there was a battle here-“ Damon started but Elena cut him off. “The battle of Willow Creek” “Right” I nodded making her look at me. “I know, we talked about it in class… Confederate soldiers fired on a church with civilians inside” I chuckled. “What the history books left out was that the people that were killed, they weren’t there by accident. They were believed to be union sympathizers, so some of the founders on the Confederacy side back then wanted them rounded up and burned alive… Stefan and Damon had someone they loved very much in that church… and when they went to rescue them, they were shot. Murdered in cold blood. The 3 Salvatore siblings died that night” “Who was in the church they wanted to save?” Elena asked curious. “A woman I guess. Doesn’t it always come down to the love of a woman?” Damon asked raising his eyebrows. Elena stared at him for a bit before letting out a breath. “Look I’m sorry that you and Stefan have this thing between you, but I can’t get in the middle of it, Damon… I just… I hope you 2 can sort it out” “I hope so too” Damon whispered giving her a small smile which she returned before walking out of the room. I rolled my eyes at Damon who was watching Elena walk away. “I’m going to find myself another drink” I mumbled before walking out of the room myself. After sitting at the bar having a couple of drinks I decided to have a walk around been nosey. As I walked past a room I spotted Bonnie stood concentrating on one of the candles so I decided to stay and watch to see if she could do it. After concentrating on it for a while she turned around giving up, just as the candle lit up along with the rest of the candles that are in the room. Smirking to myself I walked off downing my drink ready to go home but I bumped into Elena on my way out. “Elena” I gave her a fake smile. “What can I do you for?” “Do you know what your brother has been doing to Caroline?” She asked crossing her arms over her chest. “No, but I’m sure you’re about to tell me” “Caroline has got bruises and bite marks all over her body” I nodded my head before standing up out of my seat. “Why don’t you seem shocked?” She asked confused. “Anything Damon does is never surprising” I shrugged. “Eugh” She huffed before walking outside no doubt looking for Stefan. As I was about to leave I stopped in my tracks as I spotted Damon pulling Caroline outside. Wanting to make sure he doesn’t create a scene I decided to follow them, making sure I keep out of their sight. “You make me crazy, you know that? It’s okay, I forgive you” Damon spoke as he stood behind Caroline outside where there wasn’t a single person in sight. “I swear, I didn’t say-“ She started but Damon hushed her to stop her talking. “It’s okay, unfortunately, I am so… over you now” Damon told her before he bit down on her neck taking them both onto the floor before he let go of her as he sat up. “What the hell?” Stefan. Damon fell onto his back as Stefan came walking over looking down at Damon. “You know, I couldn’t spike your drink, so I spiked hers” Stefan spoke before bending down to check on Caroline as Damon struggled to sit up. Knowing that Caroline was gonna be fine he grabbed Damon before he sped them both out of there just as Caroline started to wake up. Shaking my head I decided to head home, I just wanted to lay in bed with my fire on with a bit of music on and a couple of bloodbags.
