Chapter 8; Emily

2714 Words
Lilly I was currently sat at the bar drinking a bottle of whiskey with Damon since there’s nothing better to do in the god forsaken town, hopefully I’ll be outta here soon. If I stay here any longer I’ll be known as the towns drunk since I spend near enough every day here. I needed excitement in my long life. I picked up my glass going to have a drink but I stopped as I heard Stefan’s voice behind me, trying to mimic Damon. “So Stefan, you know, I’ve been thinking… I think we should start over, give this brother thing another chance, we used to do it oh-so well, once upon a time” “I don’t, Damon, I can’t trust you to be a nice guy, you kill everybody and you’re so mean… You’re really hard to imitate, then I have to go to that lesser place” Damon mussed as Stef ordered himself a coffee. “So what’s with the bottle?” Stef asked looking at us both. “I’m on edge, crash diet, you know I’m trying to keep a low profile and I invited Lilly to come join me since she’s on a low profile as well” Damon answered, me holding up my glass towards Stef when my name was mentioned sending him a glare. I didn’t know what Stef was up to but I knew he was definitely up to something and I was gonna find out what it is. “You both could leave town, find a new one to turn into your own Gas ‘n’ Sip” Stefan suggested shrugging his shoulders. “I’ll manage. You don’t have to keep an eye on us both” Damon told him turning his head to the side to look at Stefan. “I’m not here to keep an eye on you” “So why are you here?” I finally asked raising my eyebrows. “Why not?” He asked before swiping the bottle of whiskey off the bar and walking off. I watched as Damon followed him, leaving me sat at the bar while they went to bond with eachother over a game of darts. I wasn’t interested in their conversation or who was winning, so I ignored their whole conversation, well that was until I heard Damon’s next question. “Seriously, what game do you think you’re playing?” “That’s a funny question, considering the fact I have being asking you that for months… It’s frustrating isn’t it” I could hear the smirk in Stefans voice. “Touché” I sighed as I went back to my drink knowing Stefan wasn’t going to give him an answer. “Come on Lilly, we’re having some sibling bonding” I rolled my eyes but followed behind Damon and Stefan, I wanted to know what he’s really up to. "Follow me" Stefan called as he rushed off, I sighed before me and Damon followed him to the High Schools football field. “What are we doing here?” I asked looking over at Stefan. “Bonding” He told me before looking over at Damon. “Catch” He threw the ball at him which Damon caught. “Go on, give it a try” Stefan encourage making me roll my eyes. It was obvious he was upto something. “Don’t forget I taught you how to play this game” Damon reminded him before throwing the ball before the 3 of us sped after it but as Damon caught the ball Stef came in and slammed Damon onto the floor leaving them both laying on the floor coughing and me stood looking down at them raising my eyebrows. “Down side of my diet, getting hit actually hurts” Stefan groaned as they both laid on the grass, I glared at him not liking what he was up to, he was digging for something. “I’m impressed Stefan, fun with booze and darts, sentimental with football, and now… starry night” Damon asked sitting up looking over at our little brother. “What do you want Stefan?” “It wasn’t real, Damon... Our love for Katherine. She compelled us, we didn’t have a choice… it took me years to sort that out, to try and understand what she did to us” Stefan told him as he sat up, and I knew straight away he had found out about the necklace. “Oh no, Stefan” Damon groaned tapping Stefans knee. “We are not taking that on tonight” Damon told him before standing up and walking off. “What do you want with Katherines crystal?” Stefan asked stopping him. “How do you know about that?” Damon asked with curiosity. “Come on, you knew Elena would tell me” Stefan said as he stood up looking over at Damon with me in the middle looking at them both. “How do you know it’s Katherines? Emily gave her it on her last night, I was with her, you weren’t” Damon questioned raising his eyebrows. “I was the last one to see her, Damon” Steffie admitted making Damon look at him with no emotion. “Now what do you want with Katherines crystal?” “She didn’t tell you?” Damon asked with a smirk on his face. “We had other things on our mind” Steffie stated making me roll my eyes, of course he had to add that little jab. Damon stared at him before speeding in front of him with a neutral face. “I could rip your heart out and not think twice about it” “Yeah, I’ve heard that before” Stefan retorted making me shake my head. “Alright, why don’t we just stop antagonizing eachother, eh?” I asked walking over to them. “I have a bigger surprise, Stefan” Damon smirked patting Steffie’s shoulder before turning to walk away only to stop and turn back around. “I’m gonna bring her back” Not if I can stop it. I sped over to Damon snapping his neck letting him drop to the floor, I needed to talk to Stefan, he needed to back off right now. “Was that really necessary?” Stefan asked making me turn towards him. “Yes because we need to talk. Stay out of this Stefan, I’ve handled it, he isn’t getting her back, I made sure of it. The crystal is with Bonnie for a reason, a reason to fix all this” Stefan raised his eyebrows looking at me confused. “What?” Before I could answer him Damon started waking up making me glare at Stefan before turning around to look at Damon who was glaring at me. “What do you mean you’re gonna bring her back? How?” Stefan questioned confused. “Before Katherine and the others were killed in the church, do you both remember what it was like in this town?” Damon asked looking at us both. “I remember the fear and hysteria” Steffie told him while I carried on staring at Damon, I wasn’t gonna let this happen. “Towns people were killing vampires one by one. When they came for Katherine, I went straight to Emily, said I’ll so anything, name your price, just protect her. She did” “How?” Stefan asked confused. “She did some kind of spell with the crystal, and while the church was burning and we though Katherine was burning in it, she wasn’t” Damon shrugged. “But I saw her go inside…” Stefan trailed off not understanding. “There’s a tomb underneath the church, the spell sealed Katherine in that tomb, protecting her” Damon explained. “Are you telling me Katherine’s alive?” Steffie asked completely shocked by the revelation. “If that’s what you wanna call it. She’s been trapped in a mystical holding cell for the last century and a half, but you’re an expert on starving vampires, so how do you think she’s doing Stefan?... Did you know that witches can use a celestial event to draw energy into their magic? Me neither, but I’m sure Lilly does” He looked over at me raising his eyebrows but I didn’t say anything. “But in order to give the crystal it’s power, Emily used the comet that was passing overhead, and in order for the crystal to work again…” Damon trailed off. “The comet had to return” Stefan finished. “Downside, long time in between comets, and a couple of hiccups along the way with the crystal, but the comet passed and I got the crystal and then Caroline got the crystal and now Bonnie has the crystal, and here we are” Damon went on, making me roll my eyes. “Why would Emily, why would she do this for you?” Stefan asked still confused. “She knew the council was gonna get her too” I spoke up making them both look at me. “She made a deal with Damon to make sure her lineage would survive” “I remember, he saved her children” Steffie spoke looking back at Damon. “It’s the only thing keeping me from ripping that little Bonnie girls throat out to get my crystal back. Oh well, a deal’s a deal” He shrugged before looking between me and Steffie with a smirk planted on his face. “Wanna go throw some more?” Before any of us could say anything Stef’s phone started ringing and like the nosey vampire I am, I decided to listen in. Turns out Emily’s made herself known and possessed Bonnie. “What did she say?” Stefan asked her. “She said ‘I won’t let him have it. It must be destroyed” Elena answered just as Damon rushed off to the old church ruins, I looked over at Stefan who was still on the phone before I rushed off leaving him alone. I had to make sure this gets done. When I arrived at the church ruins my eyes landed on Damon who was impaled on a tree branch, I looked around looking for Emily/Bonnie, she was drawing a pentagram into the floor using a long tree branch. “Hello Emily” “Thank you Lilly Marie” She nodded giving me a smile. “I was just doing the right thing, they shouldn’t be released” I shrugged, even though what that really mean was that Katherine can stay down there, she ruined my life so it’s only fair I get to ruin hers. Hearing someone join us I looked behind me to see Stefan helping Damon. “Stefan” “Hello, Emily” Stefan looked over at her. “These people don’t deserve this. They should never have to know such evil” Emily told him. “What do you mean evil?” Steffie asked still confused. Poor little Steffie, so out of the loop. “Emily, I swear to god I’ll make you regret this” Damon gasped out as he slumped against the tree. “I won’t let you unleash them into this world” Emily told him as she carried on with her drawing. “Them? What part of the story did you leave out Damon?” Stefan asked him. “To save one comes all Stefan… So in order for her to save Katherine, she had to save them” I told him, since he should know what Damon conveniently left out. “You saved everyone in the church?” Stefan asked Emily shocked. “As Lilly Marie said, with one comes all” Emily told him. “I don’t care about them, I just want Katherine” “And why should I believe a single word that comes out of your mouth? This isn’t about love, is it? It’s about revenge. Damon, you can’t do this” Stefan told him. “Why not?! They killed 27 people and they called it a war bound. They deserve whatever they get” Damon snapped glaring at Stefan. “27 vampires, Damon. They were vampires, you can’t just bring them back” Stefan told him as he gripped on to Damon holding him against the tree. “This town deserves this” “You’re blaming innocent people for something that happened 145 years ago” Stefan argued. “There’s nothing innocent about these people, and don’t think for a second it won’t happen again. They already know too much and they’ll burn your little gran-witch right next to us when they find out. Trust me” Damon argued pushing Stefan off him. “Things are different now” Emily spoke up. “Don’t do this” Damon begged her. “I can’t free them. I won’t” Emily told him before dropping the stick in her hand. “Incendia” The pentagram lit up in flames creating a barrier between us and Emily. “No!” She pulled the necklace off from around her neck holding it up. “No. Please” Damon cried. “BONNIE!” I snapped my head to the right seeing Elena come running towards us, which Stefan grabbed her making sure she doesn’t interfere just as Emily threw the necklace up in the air. “NOO!” Damon screamed just as the necklace blew up like a firework. Once the spell was done the flames died out and Bonnie snapped her eyes open looking around, but before she could even take notice what had happened Damon rushed over to her biting into her neck. I rushed over to Damon pulling him off her as Elena let out a scream making me roll my eyes. We all should have seen this, since Emily broke their deal he was gonna kill Bonnie. “Knock it off!” I snapped as he struggled in my hold Stefan and Elena next to Bonnie checking to see if she was ok. “She’s alive, but barely. I can save her” He told Elena before biting down on his wrist and letting his blood drop into Bonnie’s mouth. I looked over at Elena who was glaring over at me and Damon in disgust. What the hell have I done? I’m on their side in this, and I stopped Damon from killing her little witch friend. “Her neck, it’s healing” Elena cried as Damon thankfully stopped his struggling. “You good from here, Steffie?” I asked making the 3 of them look at me, Stefan and Elena confused, Damon with betrayal. “I’m not all bad Steffie. I told you I was here on business, well here you are, this was the business” I held my hands out waving them around us. “I wasn’t gonna let you get what you want Damon” I gritted out before speeding off. I’ve had enough with the whole sibling bonding, in fact I was tired of them both. I just wanted to go home and lay in bed with the fire on, a blood bag and a bottle of whiskey.
