Chapter 25 Finding Davina

5000 Words
As I sat in and drove following my son Richard while he drove for his son and grandson Jake, I looked in the review mirror at the other cars behind us, my other daughter Sarah behind us with the rest of our warriors. Then I spot Katherine's smile in the mirror, "Worried are we?" She asked playfully, showing her fangs at me. I smirked at her, "Just making sure no one backs out." "I feel relieved finally knowing this guy's whereabouts, it's been pissing me off for years, not knowing where he is, and finally we can end this little bloodsucker." Katherine says hissing and her mate Stef grabbed her hand kissing her knuckles. "Yes, but we need to go in there calm, I've told you before, you can't fight with anger." He whispered to her. "He's right you know, Kat." I tell her, my soul mate, my beta, my second in command. "I have fought in many battles, this, of course I know to keep calm." She pouts folding her arms. I chuckled shaking my head and I looked over at Marianna who was looking out the window. I hadn't realized how quiet she had gotten. "Love?" I asked as I reach for her hand. She sighs, "All those poor women, so many of them gone forever all because of one Vampire. I really hope we can save them all and I really hope Jake can save his mate." I gave her a sad smile and kissed her hand as I stared back at the road. My Marianna my true mate, my love, my equal, she always was my soft spot, she cared so much about other people that made her great at ruling in our pack at our island. She was the comfort they seek while I was the firm hand they seek when our people needed us, but together we were much more than safety and shelter to our pack. We also try out best to keep the supernatural World hidden for our kind. We have been doing it for years. We take down anyone who puts our species at risk. We hide away from humans who would try and force our species to cooperate in their experiments, or hunt us down and experiment on us to gain knowledge. Also to protect humans as most are easily fearful of the unknown and may react out of fear and do much worse to our kind. Some humans are starting to know about what this Demetri is doing. A human came across to my island running away from someone about 10 years ago. This person was alone, frightened, their health deteriorating, and they came with knowledge of our kind. It was from this human that I had learned about the selling of mixed species. In return I hunted down the buyers bringing them back to my island for the human girl to look at and confirm it was them that had bought her, I was very surprised to find that they were Werewolf buyers, the only information they gave me was a unknown name that sold them the human girl and that she was dropped off in the wilderness. The phone number they used was untraceable, when asked who told them about the selling of humans, they grabbed my knife from my hand and slit their own throats in front of me. They knew they would die if they talked to us about the traffickers and they knew I was going to kill them for hurting the human girl, so they knew they were trapped and did not want to spill their secrets. The human was not the only one they had bought, they also had Werewolf women working them, forcing them to change into their wolves and using them to take people on tours of the country side, decorating their wolves nicely and using Wolfsbane for the ropes that were tied to them to pull wagons. Also, some werewolf women were in the basement of the estate of the buyers, they bore a few pups, they were hung up by their wrists with Wolfsbane ropes and I've seen that they kept the women naked while they had their way with them and the pups were well kept for except they ate from dog dishes from leftovers. A small growl escapes my lips remembering everything the poor werewolf women and pups had to go through, Marianna squeezes my hand in comfort. I squeezed back lots in thought. The human was grateful to have us help and the Werewolf women were traumatized, I took them with us to our pack to get healing done. Now today if you saw these women, you wouldn't even be able to tell of the hell they have been through all those years ago. So, you can see now why I was more than excited to get to this so called Palace as Jake tells me, Demetri calls it, take down for good. It's reason for Katherine's anger, because it was Katherine who helped the humans and Vampires with their trauma and Marianna helped the wolves with their trauma and while I did the interrogation, tracking, hunting, of the buyers and sellers of all these women. The female vampires became violent and the Werewolf women stayed into wolf form afraid of their human selfs as they were forced never to shift for years to protect themselves. The Human part of the wolves took everything, and when the wolf part only had to watch helplessly while the human part was put through hell. The vampires were harder to approach, they weren't allowed to feed when they want, they weren't allowed to use their vampire skills as Deadly Night Shade was used against them, dulling their senses and making them human-like, they were also used mostly for breeding. They bore many children though the Vampire children never grew up with the Vampire females, the owners took their children away, but not the wolves however because the small baby wolves needed to be with their mothers for a few years, something to do with the inner wolf that they had a bond with until age 2 and then they were taken. Of course when mother's lose their young ones, they act with violence most couldn't because of the poison running through their blood from Wolfsbane and Deadly Might Shade. Finally we were heading to the place of where it all started. We weren't the only species hunting Demetri down, the humans have been trying to track him for years without success, but they too were getting close. Too close that I was writhing with fury that they would find him first and Demetri would out our entire supernatural World in one shot. Luckily, my grandson Steven was at my son Richards place at the same time I just arrived which brought me here. I was a little angered at Steven for hiding his son Jake from me, my great grandson who was also a Hybrid like me but instead of having a werewolf side he had a Warlock side to him. I will do anything to protect him, which will get him angry with me when I tell him to only look for his mate and make a run for it far from the battle, I don't want any of them battling, even though they'd be of great help, but keeping their identities secret is a priority, others already know of me through legend and stories spread throughout the World. Some found out about me and they always tried to hunt me down back 200 years ago, so I have been hiding since. But, tonight will be the night I finally reveal myself. I do not fear them hunting me as they cannot kill me at all, it's the fact that I can't live in peace of why I don't like being hunted. It's rather annoying really, men forever breeching my borders and killing my good men to get to me and to find they cannot kill me, but if I had to endure that now just to protect the Supernatural World then revealing myself is worth it. I fear that Demetri might not be the only one trafficking these women, I'm sure he has help, but if he is the one and only boss of trafficking then he's at a loss. He will not stand a chance against me. Demetri will watch all his people die around him before I come for him. I hit the breaks hard as we stopped in what appeared to be a empty meadow with the forest all around us and one way overgrown road. I blinked, surprise we were finally to our gathering place before we enter, the sun was already low but it was not yet into setting. We had to move quick. because Davina Jake's mate will not see another day if we don't get him in there. She will die tonight. I use my vampire speed and got out of the vehcile while everyone piled out of the vehciles and surrounded me. I nodded to my men at the far back, "You all know where to go and what to do." Then I Katherine says to a big group of women who were walking towards us, "Go with his men, break down the barriers." They nod once and run to catch up to my men. Then I looked to the others who waited, "We give them a 10 minute headstart. The witches need time to unblock the barrier, then we take our positions and attack immediately." Katherine adds, "Look for the signal in the sky from the witches once they're through." "We all know the plans, we all know the faces of the ones on our side. Let's get ready and No one is to Kill Demetri, leave him to me for questioning." I yell out to the 200 or so crowd. I quickly appeared in between Steven and Jake, I touched Jake's shoulder quckily, he turned to look at me while his father also stopped, "Find your mate before nightfall, if you don't, she will die tonight. Then, you grab her and run from this place." I tell him. He frowns, "Run? but I wanted to help fight." "Your job is to get your mate out of here and into safety. I don't want anyone knowing you're hybrids." I tell him. He nods swallowing hard looking straight into the forest and I can see him clenching his fists over and over waiting for the signal. We continue to walk toward the forest, my other men getting into positions, and we also had 5 witches all around us keeping us invisible to everyone else, but my men and the other witches were the only ones able to hear us and see us. I can feel Jake's anxiety spike up at my words. I wanted him to find his mate as soon as possible the better. I know I couldn't live without mine and we've been together for more than a thousand years. Family is everything to me. Jake's P.O.V After my great grandfather Timothy told me that Davina might not make it until tonight. I was on edge as the sun was hanging lower in the sky, knowing she only had until Sun down to live made me more anxious to find her. It will be a challenge to find her, because this place is huge and I know She'd be close to Demetri which means I'd have to fight my way through to find her, or hopefully Aria can get her out of there before the fighting begins. Either way, I would have to try my best to make my way to her somehow. If only I could Mind link her this would be way easier. As we approached the border of Demetri's Palace and awaited the Witches to reveal it before we moved any closer because if we got to close, the spell would make us go in another direction and make us forget this place, that is something we weren't willing to risk. "What's taking them so long." Timothy grits his teeth, anxious to start this war. Then, I heard a stick crack from behind us. Everyone tensed and spun around fast to see what made that noise. It was a tall dark haired muscular man with baby blue eyes glowing, a werewolf. I frowned at him as recognition hit me, his scent was familiar. Some wolves growled and the man lifted his hands up in defence. "Wait!" I yell out. Everyone turned to look at me before they took out the intruder. "I know him!" Timothy however was just staring at the man and the man was staring back. Then before everyone can make a move. Timothy laughed and walked up the man and gave him an big hug. Everyone was confused even me. Timothy turns around and faces the crowd and announced, "This man here is Alrik Sawyer, his father is the very first Werewolf Michaelangelo. My father Draco and his father Michaelangelo were cursed a month after the other. My father was created during a New Moon bitten by a cursed bat from an old Warlock, and his father was created and blessed by the Full Moon, from a Goddess. Alrik and I found eachother and have been friends for centuries and it drove our fathers mad back in the day because they wanted out species separated. I haven't seen him since couple months ago when I travelled through your pack, what brought you here?" "My daughter, Demetri has her." He held up a picture of Davina. I raced to his side immediately and introduced myself. "Hi, my name's Jake Craven sir, and your daughter happens to be my mate." I tell him. His eyebrows rose into his hairline, "Jake Craven? As in Timothy Craven?" He looked to Timothy. "I only found out about the boy 4 days ago through my grandson Steven." Timothy says looking at my dad who smiled and shrugged. "Wait, Davina is yours?" Timothy asked him. Why would he have to ask him he could just read his mind. "Yes, she's my daughter, my first born." "I'm afraid to tell you but she's deteriorating, because she hasn't been marked." Timothy tells him. I looked down when a growl escapes Alrik, sending a powerful shake in the ground shaking it as I look up at him surprised, he stalks toward me and says, "You haven't marked her yet?! I thought she said she was already marked? She lied!$ He grabs my shirt, causing my dad to growl at him as he reached for his wrist. Then he sniffs me, "Your from my pack? How? when?" "Didn't Alley and Zack tell you?" I asked surprised. "No." He spits out and lets me go just as a bright gold sparks appeared in the sky. Everyone looks up. "The bearer has been broken!" Timothy yells, "Goo!!" He looks at Alrik, "You'll fight with us." Alrik nods, then Whistles and more wolves come out from hiding, "Let's go!" He yells as he also brought his own team of men. Without hesitation ignoring the confrontation I ran at the same time Timothy yells, "Good luck." to me. I ran through the forest heading towards Demetri's Mansion. Davina was the only thing running through my mind as I passed the border of Demetri's Palace grounds. I passed some of Timothy's men and then passed the witches using my Werewolf speed. Because I was both werewolf and warlock, I was fast than most species. I ran until I heard the sound of Sparkes. I slowed my pace looking around, and saw a few witches behind a garage they were standing guard with their hands out with sparkes flying around their palms ready to strike at the enemy. I growled at them when they finally spotted me. I shifted back into human form and threw fireballs at them with my magic, their faces shocked when a wolf used magic in human form gave them no time to react to me. They're bodies burned as they ran and screamed falling to the ground in yellow flames, they're burnt flesh making me cringe at the smell. I walked on past them then more fighters came and I quickly went back into wolf form and took out a few wolves and vampires. slicing through the vampires necks, blood squirting everywhere, while I turned and ripped out the throats of wolves. I noticed a few wolves on Demetri's side backed away bowing to me letting me through. Arias inside help I suppose. Then, I saw him Hardin in his vampire form fighting off wolves, there were four on him. I let out a growl and one stopped and looked at me as I lung for the wolf behind Hardin and Hardin grabbed the one who looked at me, ripping his head clean off with his hands. The other two wolves went for us both, but before they can even get near, they were blasted with electricity that came from a near by witch she smirked at us and ran into battle helping our men as she went. We quckily twisted their necks while they were still down, their bodies smoking from the shock. I changed into human form, "Hardin, where is she?" I asked. He gestured toward the Mansion, "She's still inside!" he yelled over the battle noise. Growls, Hisses, screams and magic blaring in every direction now. "Can you mind link her?!" I yelled. "Yeah, but she can't mind link back! her wolf is weak!" he yelled as another attacked him and he took out his heart and tossed it. "s**t! We have to get to her now!" I shouted at him. He looked at me, "Yeah I know!" Then a wolf was on top of him and I used my magic to keep the wolf frozen above Hardin. He looked at me and yelled, "Behind you!" I ducked in time as a vampire tried to rip my head off. He missed and stumbled over me and I caught his leg and yanked him towards me sticking my wolf paw through his chest punching out his heart and his body fell to the ground. "Thanks!" I yelled, "She's not going to make it till tonight!" Hardin walked over to me his face filled with worry. He touched my shoulder, "Okay, we find her, then we bring her to safety and we mark her at the same time. There's an entrance out back, there's a balcony with the doors open, I left it like that, go in through there, I'll go the other way. When you find her teleport to the river that way!" He pointed toward the back of the mansion. I'll meet you both there!" If I don't find her in 30 minutes that's where I'll be!" He yelled. "Okay! See you in 30 minutes!" I yelled as a huge explosion in the distance made us duck then we glanced around and saw it was our witches blowing up the weaponry garage. Good witches. We glanced at eachother and ran from eachother heading to the directions we agreed on. I ran straight for the back of the Mansion where he said there was a Balcony, I knew I had to make sure no one was following me. Before I can reach the corner a wolf grabbed my ankle with its teeth making me fall to the ground yelling in pain as it's teeth sliced through my skin. I turned and quickly kicked him the face and used my magic to twist his neck. I flicked my wrist with my hand in a fist. I grabbed my ankle and put my right hand over the wound and spoke the words of the healing spell I knew, but before I can speak it my wolf already healed the wound. I quickly got back up and rounded the corner where I came face to face with a witch who was curled up in a ball hiding in a small hedge just under the balcony Hardin said he left open. I looked around and didn't see anyone else here. I gently touched her shoulder and she stiffened at my touch, I gently shook her shoulder and she looked at me her eyes full of fear, "Shhh. It's okay, I won't hurt you." I put my index finger to my lips. She looked relieved and she got out of the hedge and she looked to me only a teenager, "Thank you." She said and sounded young and scared. "How old are you?" I asked. "16." she said, "My names Casey." "Your a witch, I can see your aura." I told her, it glowed slightly around her, her witch aura was light pink. Mine I know was golden color, sometimes orange. "I need you to go that way to safety. Just keep going in that direction I will find you later and use a invisibility spell and hide your scent." I say and pointed to the direction Hardin told me to go towards and across the river, going straight west. "I don't know how to do that invincibility spell." She whispered, she was really scared. "Okay but, you know how to mask your scent?" I asked. "Y-yes." She stuttered. I looked around quickly scanning the forest around the house, and not spotting anyone in sight, I nodded and told her, "Okay lower your right hand down to our feet and your going to wave around your feet, and slowly make your way up to your head, keep waving your hand, make it like as if your wiping yourself, and as you go, picture in your head that your part of the shadows, your part of the earth bow your feet and say these words over and over. Push your magic out through your hand.." She did as I said and I told her to words to the Latin spell and I can hear her mumbling the spell as her hands glowed a soft pink, then I saw her slowly starting to disappear. I nodded encouragingly before she was invisible, "Okay, you will remain in this spell until you are ready to be seen again. When you are ready, just picture yourself again and use your left hand starting from your head to your toes, this time pulling the magic cloak from you and into your hands again and just whisper "Reveal", you got it?" Before she went invisible she nodded her head and like that I couldn't see her anymore but I can feel her. "Okay now, do the masking scent and then go where I showed you, don't freak out when you see others around you, or your spell will break, don't be scared, you got this, now go Casey, be safe!" I whispered as I stopped feeling her near me and I couldn't tell if she heard me at that last part. I checked my watch quckily and realized I'd been helping her for 10 minutes, which meant I only had 20 mins left to find Davina before meeting Hardin. I growled and looked around again to see if anyone was watching, I didn't detect any movements or see and prying eyes and then I looked up at all the windows, and noticed most windows were bricked over and there were only a few Balconies that had normal windows and doors placed and no one was looking through the left over windows at all that were all on the top floors. I sucked in a breath and braced myself for a fight before I jumped in. I bend my knees and pushed off the ground jumping straight into the room through the opened balcony without hitting anything. I looked around and saw no one at all, but I could hear fighting noises down the hall through the open doorway. Okay here it goes. I'm coming Davina. I rushed out with inhuman speed more determined to find her because her life really depended on it, I only hope I can find her. As I went down the hall and into the stairway, I looked over the stairs and into another floor, amazingly there was no one in sight. All the fighting must be on the main floor then. I kept going all the way down to the second floor of the building and I saw vampires scattering, grabbing humans and biting them and tossing their bodies as if they were nothing. The human women screaming and running, looking for places to hide or escape. Of course I knew there won't be much wolves in here because all the wolves are made mostly warriors and soldiers. I sniffed the air and my eyes widen, I can smell Davina, her delicious scent of hot chocolate and vanilla wafting to my nose, I immediately inhaled her scent, but it was faint, she was on the main floor somewhere, now I just gotta make it past those vampires, maybe save a few humans as I go. I really wish Hardin could have came with me instead, he'd be a big help, with his Vampire speed. I can't use too much of my magic, I used it enough outside. Only when necessary. Another vampire grabbed and escaping human, and was pulling her by the hair as the human screamed. I let out a growl as I shifted to my wolf form and jumped over the stairs ledge and Lunged for the vampire who let go of the human women's hair and she ran away as fast as she could. I bit into the vampires shoulder shaking my head vigorously as it tried to claw me with its extended claws. I let him go for a brief moment then quckily turned back into human form and snapped his neck. I turned and ducked in time from another vampire and I changed into my wolf and tore his head off with my huge jaws and spit him back out. Then I ran for the stairs and as I hit the stairs the lights in the Mansion went off, which didn't bother me as I had night vision. A few female women ran past me and some coward down to the floor, frightened of me. I walked past them, following Davina's scent. As I got to the main floor where more fighting was going on, I saw her, but she was at the other set of stairs and Demetri was holding her to him while she was trying to push him away from her and she looked up as Demetri was pushing a door open and pushing her through. Davina's eyes locked with mine and I saw shock and relief pass through her but then fear was etched into her face and she began to cough holding her chest as Demetri pushed her through the door. I growled a loud guttural sound coming off of me as my wolfs anger shook the entire floor. Demetri looked at me and then he smirked and locked the door where he pushed Davina through. Surprising me, he left the area and headed outside to the fight with his vampire speed, I thought he'd at least go with her. I ran in wolf form to the door he locked. She was banging on the door crying, "Jake!!! Help!!" her body began to sag to the floor. "Davina!!" I yelled as I shifted back in human form. I quickly grabbed a pants off a random dead vampire and put them on. "Hey!!" Someone yelled from behind me and I looked to see who that was, Hardin was far away from us trying to get past all the vampires fighting their way through to get outside. His body being slammed left and right. "I can't get through Jake!! Meet me where I said!!" Hardin Yelled as he got thrown out with all the vampire bodies rushing through the door. I frowned confused, the vampires were leaving, I wonder why. I looked back at the window in the door that Demetri had locked Davina in, she was no longer standing up, her body was on the floor and she was faced down not moving. My heart raced in my chest, worry flooded me. For a brief moment my World stopped. "Davina!!!!" I hit the door and relief flooded me when she moved. I looked inside and saw white smoke coming from all the vents filling the small room with fog-like smoke and making it harder to see her in there now. I kicked at the door trying to get her out. "I'll get you out of there! Hold on, baby Hold on!!" I hit the door with my fists attempting to break the glass but no matter the strength I had, I couldn't. I tried putting the code and the smoke came out faster in the vents. "No!!! Davina!!" I began punching the window over and over my knuckles breaking and healing over and over as I kept punching, determined to get this stupid door open. Whatever was coming out in the vent was making her fade even faster. Then, I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder, I turned growling at the person who was stopping me, it was a vampire woman, dressed in a golden white ball gown. "I know his code." She said so I moved out of her way as she punched it in, I pulled the door open and picked up Davina, the white smoke came pouring out of the little room. It smelt of Wolfsbane, vervain and something else. "Carbon monoxide." The vampire says, "You should leave quick, the place is going to blow up soon, Demetri set it to self destruct." "Thanks." I nodded, then turned to the way I came in, running up the stairs with an unconscious Davina in my arms. Avoiding the fighting out front. I ran all the way to the top floor as explosions went off downstairs.
