CRY OF THE BANSHEE

Jeremy and Diana were coming back from their coastal slide when they from distance saw fire at centre of Ezra, they were wondering what the fire was for and then came fireworks, Diana laughed and asked jeremy to come with her. Jeremy asked for explanation but she just replied;

"you will see"

They walked into the Ezra and saw all the fairies hovering around the flame with music on. Jeremy asked for what was happening and Diana told that they were celebrating. out of surprise; Jeremy asked;

"celebrating? celebrating what? "

Diana replied him;

"your victory, which should have done it on the day of battle but for the fact you are unconscious, we couldn't . come to think of it, who celebrates victory when the hero is not around? "

jeremyvreplied her with another question;

"and who celebrates victory when the war is still going on? look, we need to stop this party and reinforce our defence".

Diana looked up and shouts;

"ah, is victory dance; so bad you can't see it from down here".

she turned to a fairy and joined the dance. Jeremy shouted at here;

"are you even listening to me?.... Ah, I'm so hungry".

He started walking around searching for some food, he saw a cup of milk and honey, he went to it a have his fill.

Jeremy was in a hidden angle stuffing his face with fruits when he looked up and saw all the fairies in human size starring at him. he got confused but Diana came and whispered to him. she told him that they need him to address them as they Chief celebrant of the day. he hesitated saying he do have stage fright. Diana insisted that he gives a speech, he went before the fire place and started;

"I wanna thank you all for giving me this privilege, for accepting me in your midst, it's indeed a great honor to be celebrated like this;.... but I must ask; is it worth this? not more than a week ago the ring was attacked, thank to the gods we prevailed but the shield is still open; we're still prone to attack. anyone can now walk in and out of the ring without stress, and all you could think of is merriment. Ezra, your home is open to enemies and instead of being on guard you're celebrating".

One of the soldiers replied;

"but we do have soldiers taking shifts everyday to keep it guard. if anything is to happen; they will give us a signal"

Jeremy answered him;

"how many are there? and how equipped are we? if those armies decided to March in with the same number they did last time; even if our guards warn us, they will be here before we get ready. one thing about being a soldier is to be prepared all the time. I can't stand this anymore; I'm going to bed".

when he left, Chance sobbed and said;

"that kid has a point, we shouldn't be partying; we should be pre....

Someone cut in and shouts

"who wants to party!!!!

All the fairies yelled and started dancing hokey pokey.

meanwhile at the shield, two fairies were dancing around the shield, suddenly, a ball rolled in, one the fairies left to attend to it and it rolled further. it kept rolling till it got to a safe distance from the other guard and stopped. the guard that was following it came close to it and it changed into a goblin and stabbed the guard to death.

The second guard waited for his colleague but he didn't return, he choose to check on him. When he left, the trolls and Minotaurs walked in. A fairy that was spying from under shrubs tried to escape and warned others but one of the Minotaur chopped it into half. the guard that was checking on his pal saw the ball, he picked it up and a giant spike flew from the ball and stabbed him to death. The goblin called on others telling them that coast has been cleared.

Jeremy was sleeping when he heard noise, he startled and sat up asking who it was, the voice apologized and wave a wand which makes the room to got lit; it happened to be Diana. He asked her why she's no longer partying and she replied that she couldn't after hearing what he said. Jeremy apologized and ask her why she didn't go to bed since she was no longer partying. she then revealed again that fairies don't sleep at night but during the day. Jeremy apologised again for making her lose her sleep. while they were discussing, a big shriek was heard all over the place which shake the root of the treehouse. Diana soliloquize;

"oh no, this can't be good".

Jeremy asked for what was going on, what made the sound and what it was for. she then replied;

"that was the banshee, and anytime she cries, a prominent person will die".

At the party ground, the cry of the banshee disrupted everything there by killing their party spirit. no one would like to party with the omen of death hovering around. the party was brought to an abrupt end. Everyone of the fairies went home thinking while the council members were left behind to discuss how to curtail the incoming breeze of death. They decided to consult the diviner.

The intruders were coming when they heard the cry of the banshee, the couldn't stand it so they all hid their heads in shrubs. when the cry ended, they decided to continue their journey. They came to the middle of the field and planted a root before heading for Ezra. Due to the cry of the banshee, the fairies were much wide alert and this hinders them from entering Ezra so they have to hang around the field.

The cry of the banshee scared sleep out of Jeremy, Diana have to place his head on her laps before he could sleep again. in the morning, the delegates sent to the diviners returned and reported that a great tragedy was about to struck Ezra, that they should all prepare.

Jeremy persuaded Diana to take him to his mother's because that might be the last chance he might get with her since no one knew who the cry was meant for. They visited the trench where prisoner were kept, Jeremy was surprised to see that the trench was just a shiny orb. Diana used her powers to summon Louisiana and she appeared like a genie coming out from the orb like thick smoke. Jeremy tried to touch her but his hands just went through.

Louisiana looked just like in the pictures, she apologized to Jeremy for having to leave him behind. the spent a lot of time together but Jeremy and Diana decided to leave. On their way out, Jeremy thanked Diana for having his back and making his stay awesome. they held hands and was starring at each other's eyes when suddenly, they kissed. when they realised what they were doing, they stopped and apologized to each other. suddenly, they heard a scream.

They beast searched the entire Ezra for Jeremy but couldn't find him. when the were about leaving, one the fairies saw the goblin and screamed, the goblin launched a spike from it's mouth which killed the fairy. the scream attracted other fairies which erupted a war between them. The goblin change to a ball and rolled out of the fighting arena.

Because the battle erupted at Ezra, a lot of young fairies were killed, the trolls were killed while the Minotaurs stood their ground because the fairies magic were useless on them. The fairies decided to use the force of nature like wind and fire to fight and that seems to be more effective.

Jeremy and Diana ran into the arena and just immediately, a spare was coming towards Diana but Jeremy was fast enough to push her out. Jeremy rushed towards the Minotaur that threw the spear but he ended up flying around the arena doing little or nothing to help the battle.

Diana saw that Jeremy was of no use to them in the battle, she took charge and summon shrubs and clippers to grew around one of the Minotaurs, choking him, it snapped the neck and pulled the head out of the body. The other Minotaur saw what Diana did and cast his axe against Diana; Diana's father saw the axe before Diana and dashed towards it using his body to shield her daughter.

immediately Diana's father dropped dead, Diana screamed and lightening scattered the Minotaur in bits. even then; Jeremy was still flying around in air.

At Darca's chamber, Darca was shocked how his best army were defeated. He turned to Lydia and said;

"your best army are useless and they also sucks, let's hope the goblin brings us good news or we carry on with the plan B".
