Chapter 6

Ava's Point of View "Hey, you're back. Breakfast?" Liam asks, glancing at me from in front of the stove as I step into the apartment. I nod my head, giving him a small smile as I sink onto one of the chairs in front of the kitchen island. "Breakfast sounds great, thank you. Where is Spence?" I ask but before Liam can answer a voice calls out from the hallway. "Right here." She says, stepping into the kitchen, still wrapping a towel around her hair. "Hey, how did it go?" She asks, giving me a small smile before she makes her way over to the fridge. She grabs three juices before making her way back over to the kitchen island. Liam and I both thank her before she takes her seat. "Okay, all the rooms are filled, so I couldn't get a single, but luckily one of the three girls that have a single room is willing to take a roommate. It's not ideal, but for now at least I have a place to stay until I can make another plan." I say, opening my juice and taking a sip. Spencer frowns at me. "You have a place to stay. Here. Liam and I have both told you we would be happy to have you stay here." She says and Liam nods his head from where he is plating food. I sigh, running a hand through my hair. "I know, and thank you, both, but I have invaded your place long enough." I say but Spencer shakes her head. "Ava..." She begins but I shakes my head, stopping her. "No, please Spence. I really appreciate everything you two have done for me, but this place wasn't made for three people and you known it." I say and she sighs, nodding her head. "I know. You are, I am just going to miss having you around." She says pouting and I laugh. "Spencer, seriously, I am only moving to the student dormitory down the street, not out of the country. We will still see each other everyday." I say and she narrows her eyes at me. "I know, but you know what I mean." She mutters and I smile over at her as I pull her in for a side hug. "I know. I will miss you too." I say, pulling away from her and she smiles at me. "So, when are you moving out?" Liam asks, placing our plates on the table. "Thank you." I say, quickly taking a bite of scrambled eggs before I answer. "Well, my new roommate is already here and she said I was welcome to move in as soon as possible. So I was thinking about packing and moving my things over later today." I say. Spencer's head quickly snaps up and she looks at me with surprise. I nod my head. "Why so soon?" She asks a bit disappointed. "Because I already have two classes starting tomorrow and I want to get this over with as quickly as possible." I say and she sighs, but nods her head. "I get it. Liam has a shift today, but how about after breakfast I help you pack and we can move your stuff over before we go grab some ice-cream? Maybe we can even invite your new roommate and get to know her." Spencer says and I nod my head with a smile. "Thank sounds great." The three of us finish having breakfast, making small talk. After breakfast Spencer and I insist on doing the dishes because Liam cooked. He thanks us and dissappears down the hall to get dressed. "So, have you heard from him again?" Spencer asks, leaning against the counter with a dish towel in her hands. "Who? Adam?" I ask, glancing at her before I look back down at the plate I am washing. "Yes, Adam. Who else?" She asks and immediately two dark eyes flash in my mind, the memory making me blush. "Ava?" She asks and I shake my head, giving her a small smile. "Sorry. And uh, no, I haven't heard anything from him since Liam threatened to kick his ass, so I think he got the message." I say, handing her the plate. She nods her head, taking the plate from me before she begins drying it. "I hope so." She murmurs. We continue to wash the dishes, mostly in silence. At some point Liam comes in quickly saying goodbye before he rushes of to the gym. After drying and putting away the dishes Spencer and I begin to pack my things. "So, what is your roommates name? Do we know her?" Spencer asks, folding one of my shirts and I shake my head. "No, from what I understand she is a new transfer student. I think they said her name is Luna." I say and Spencer frowns, looking up at me quickly. "Luna? Luna who?" She asks quickly and I frown shrugging at her. "I don't know. Why?" I ask and Spencer gives me a small smile, shaking her head. "Oh, no reason. I was just curious." She says, as she continues to fold and pack away my clothes. I frown, but I don't push. I follow her lead and I just continue to pack quickly. "Wel, I guess that is everything." Spencer says, glancing at my bags and I nod my head. "I think so." I say as I grab my phone from my pocket. I quickly open the number they have me. 'Hi, this is Ava. I was wondering if now would be a good time to move my things over? If not, you can just let me know when I can come.' I type quickly sending it. It isn't long before I see dots and her message comes back to me. 'Hey! Now is more than fine. I am just here. See you soon roomie!' A small smile tugs at the corners of my mouth before I shut of my screen, slipping my phone back into my pocket. "Luna says it is okay if we head over now." I say and Spencer nods her head slowly. "Okay, fine... Let's go." We quickly carry my bags down to my car before we begin to make our way to the student dormitory. It doesn’t take us long before we find the room number and I quickly knock. "Come on in!" A voice calls and I quickly push the door open. "Ava, is that you?" "Yeah, it's me." "I'll be right there!" The voice calls back and soon we hear the bathroom door open. A beautiful girl with dark eyes and blonde hair step out, smiling at us. Something about her makes my heart rate pick up. Something about her seems familiar, but I can't place my finger on it. "Sorry, I just came back from a run when you texted and I had a shower. Couldn't meet my new roommate all sweaty now could I?" She says with a teasing smile and I laugh. "I appreciate the gesture, but it is not necessary. Hi, I am Ava Stevens." I say, holding out my hand. She quickly takes my put stretched hand and she shakes it with a smile. "It is nice to meet you. I am Luna Blackwood." She says and I smile at her. "Nice to meet you too..." Before I can continue Spencer's breathless voice comes from behind me. "Sorry, sorry! Rebecca just wouldn't stop talking." She says and I smile at her, shaking my head. "No worries. Luna, meet my best friend Spencer Fields. Spencer this is Luna Blackwood." I introduce them and as soon as their eyes meet I feel the sudden shift in the air, the tension in the room suddenly so thick you can cut it with a knife. I frown, looking between the two of them. "Is everything okay?"
