They hauled me back to the road where Anton and Kevin had parked their vehicles, and I'm glad to report that I didn't make it easy for them. I wasn't born to cause chaos, after all...
"Stop it for f**k's sake!" Adam hissed at me as I attempted to kick him for the third time.
"You wish!" I thought as I yelled: "Make me, you stupid goat!"
He murmured something that sounded like 'Yes, I may just do that soon', and I huffed at his tone. I was meant to feel upset and annoyed, not them. Why didn't they let me leave? I had not done anything for them.
As we approached the road and I saw the vehicle, I realized I was being abducted. Mother-f*****g abducted!
Hell, this day couldn't get much worse, but I changed my mind when I recalled my 'dad's pledge to visit Kate later if I couldn't stop him. That notion gave me a fresh burst of energy, and I jerked my head back while simultaneously slamming my foot on Adam's. He relaxed his grasp on me somewhat, and I used the chance to slip out of his arms and shove him away.
I didn't spend any time celebrating and sped back down the road towards the shop. But this time, I didn't go too far...
I then felt something slam into me from behind, and I fell quickly, but before I touched the ground, someone spun me around, and I landed on the person who had tackled me. Even so, the collision burned my side and caused me to wheeze, temporarily paralyzing me.
The guy underneath me shoved me aside, and I cursed. I was relieved that he had protected me for most of the fall, but if he hadn't tackled me, I would not have been injured at all. I rolled over to my back and remained there, focused on breathing in and out until the agony subsided. The second person came up alongside me, and I recognized Anton.
It's not unusual that I felt like I'd been run over by a vehicle at the time.
"Enough with the running, mate." He murmured, giving me a harsh look as I groaned and leaned my head on the ground.
"Mate again?" I closed my eyes and said, "I wouldn't have had to run if you weren't chasing me, idiot."
I recognized he had heard me when he grabbed my right arm and yanked me up from the ground.
"Ouch, s**t!" I cursed as I staggered into him, and if he hadn't caught me, I would have fallen again. He gave me a troubled glance before starting to walk back towards the vehicles, gripping my arm tightly.
I was pulled and shoved till we were back with the others. Adam gave me a furious expression, which transformed into concern as he realized my inability to walk straight. Alex said nothing; he just unlocked the Jeep's backdoor, and Anton led me towards it, pushing me inside after Alex had gotten in. I just managed to keep myself from collapsing, but Alex grabbed hold of me from inside and effortlessly assisted me. Adam went in behind me, closing the door behind him.
Great! I was locked between them, so I couldn't escape via one of the doors.
Anton went into the driver's seat, and I saw Kevin approach the Lamborghini. This was not how I had expected to spend my evening.
"All because of that stupid beer..." I thought, leaning back into the dark seat.
