AMARIS 5 Weeks Later "Oh come on, why is it that if you're in a hurry, there's no available taxi?" I inwardly groaned. I can't be late on my appointment today. It's my interview at The City Holdings. Maycee and her family works there. And I am a lucky one to be able to get an invitation to apply for the available position Market Research Analyst in that company, which is suitable for me because its one of my specializations. I saw another one coming and I almost got on the middle of the road waving my hands. Thanks the Moon Goddess it's available. I will be able to make it on time I guess. I take a deep breath to calm my nerves. I stared at the file I'm holding. It contains my CV. I dont know if I'm going to make it as I still have no work experience, but I'm hoping because I need it at the moment. I'm not used to doing nothing and staying at home for 3 weeks is eating me up already. Taking out the compact mirror from my bag, I check if I at least look presentable.Im wearing a pair of green tailored pants and blazer over my white v-neck, and a 2-inch black heels complementing my black satchel bag. I remembered how long it took Maycee and I to choose what will I be wearing for today. She's insisting that I should wear something paired with skirt, but no way. I'm not comfortable with it. "We've arrived Miss," told the driver. I looked out of the window and indeed we've arrived. I hand him the money and got out of the car. I looked at the building in front of me and I felt nervous. But I take a few deep breaths before proceeding to the entrance. I showed my identification card to the guard and he ushered me to the front desk on the right side. "Excuse me miss, I am here for an interview," I presented her the letter from the company. "Proceed to the elevator Miss, its on the top floor. And ask for a certain Miss Samson once you get there. She'll be guiding you," she informed me. "Thanks," I muttered before walking to the elevator. There's two elevator and the one on the left side is working its way up. But the one on the right isn't, so I pressed the open button. As the elevator goes up, my mind is busy thinking of what could be the questions that they'll going to ask me. I'm always composed at any situation before so its new to me why I suddenly felt restless. There's excitement, nervousness and fear inside me. I tried to pry them away as I see Im almost on the top floor. I heard the 'ding' sound of the elevator but my feet seems to be glued to where I am standing. Just when the door was about to close again that I stepped out of it. I look around, in hopes of seeing someone to ask. There's like a lounge area in front. On the left is an office . I walked towards it but I saw no one. Did I go to the wrong floor? But the woman at the front desk told me its on the top floor. Isn't it supposed to be that there are other applicants waiting outside for the interview? I quickly looked at my watch and saw that I'm not late either. I took a seat on the sofa and decided to just wait in case someone will come soon and soon enough, a door on the left of the office burst open and a middle-aged woman came- out of it. I stood up to let her know of my presence. I know she can see me through the glass partition of her office. As soon as she saw me, she opened the door to her office and smile at my way. "Miss Lyndt?" she asked but I think its more of a confirmation. "Yeah, thats me," I smiled back at her. "Please come in." I walked inside her office but I remain standing as she reached on the telephone on her desk and dialed. "She's here," I heared her say to who I presume would be the boss. "Okay" and she put the phone on the cradle. "This way Miss Lyndt," she guided me to the same door where she came out from a while ago. She pulled the door close from outside once I was inside. "Good afternoon Sir," I greeted him. He raise his head from looking down the documents in his table. To say that I was shocked was an understatement. I felt light- headed. Goosebumps are all over my skin again just like before. My heart is thumping on my chest and my breath seems to find its way out of me. I'm feeling suffocated. Sitting across the table is no other than the man in black suit from before. "Amaris Lyndt," he whispered my name and it sounds different hearing it from him. It brings warmth to me. He slowly rose from his chair. I don't know what to do, if I'm going to go near his table or what because I cant move my feet or any other part of me at all. He slowly walked towards me while loosening his tie and oh Moon Goddess, what a sight. I didn't notice that I am already biting my lower lip. Whats going on? Whats happening? I tried to find my sane self but its seems I just cant. I feel a strong pull towards this man. He raise his hand and touched the back of his hand on my right cheek painfully gentle. "Mate." Upon hearing that word my jaw dropped. Is this real? Or Im just dreaming? If I am, please, please, please dont ever wake me up. I leaned unto his touch and my eyes voluntarily closed. "Miss Lyndt," a little too loud and the snap of fingers startled me. He's in front of me, holding my glasses and waving near my face. I straightened up. What the hell happened? "Umh, Im sorry," was all I can say. I Can feel my blood rushing to my face. "Are you okay? I was asking for you to come and sit down but your not answering and you're just staring at me. Im not going to eat you or something, okay?" he said and handed me my glasses which I put on immediately. I wanted to cry and run out. AMARIS LYNDT!!!!!!!!
