My new sibling is amazing Lilac thought as she watched him play next to their mother as she washed dishes. Lilac was fascinated with her brother how he ate, how he played, how he found something as small as a piece of trash amazing. Lilac was looking at a book in the living space when her father came in one afternoon and told Mrs. watcher something. "Are you sure? she is only seven years old" Mrs. watcher looked at her husband with very concerned eyes. Mr. watcher smiled to reassure her "she will be fine she is smart and I am sure she will be great outside if she is anything like her papa and grandfather". Later that evening during dinner Mr. watcher explains what his plans were with Lilac. "Really! I can join you daddy?" Lilac looks at her mother who smiles even though she is uncertain than back at her father. "yes I believe we should teach you the tricks at least until your brother gets older who knows maybe we will have you both as farmers". The next day Mr. watcher and Lilac leave before the sun is up and Mr. watcher begins to show Lilac how to feed the chickens, two cows, two pigs, and two horses. "Now my little carrot I want to warn you the pigs are for meat and the one cow is meat to some day we may have to kill em". Lilac nods "I understand daddy its the way of life" she sets a pail down and Mr. watcher pats her head "good you understand that now, alright time to move onto vegetables and fruits our most important part". They both work in the fields until afternoon when Mrs. watcher comes out holding Aiden "anybody hungry? I have a little picnic for us" she smiles and they both follow her to a apple tree with a blanket laid out on the grass "picnic time!" Lilac jumps up and down and sits down beside Aiden and hands him a small soft piece of a peach. "So how does the farming go Lilac do you like it?" Mrs. watcher hands her a sandwich "its so much fun! mother, daddy has taught me a lot right daddy?" she mumbles the last two words with food in her mouth. Mr watcher takes a sandwich "I told you my love she would be a natural at it, I told her once and she already understands what she has to do" he takes a bite of his sandwich and looks at Lilac with pride. They relax for a hour than Mr. watcher stands up "shall we get back to it my little carrot?" Lilac kisses Aidens cheek "yes daddy lets finish up!" she stands up and follows him. Mrs. watcher smiles at both of them and cleans up their mess "I have a lovely family for sure" she looks at Aiden who goos at her. Later that evening Mrs. watcher is talking to Mr

watcher in bed "she really did that well my love?" Mr watcher turns to her and pulls her close "better than expected she may just be my heir to the farm", "but what about marriage? children? what happens when she gets older?" Mrs. watcher sighs before her husband can respond. "my love we arent even close to that age, besides if she does I can train Aiden to run the farm so dont fret" he leans in and kisses her softly. Days went on and Lilac learned how to take care of livestock and their vegetables and fruits, her father thought she was even better than him at it he knew she had fire but most importantly she had heart he could tell she loved being outside working. Mrs. watcher worried as always hoping Lilac would come to like boys someday and find herself a good man who could help her run the farm. Lilac also helped in the house when she could and continued her reading she felt a young lady should have knowledge rather than follow after her husbands every beck and call, perhaps it could change as she got older but she knew at this moment she wanted to be a farmer to serve the royal family with the best of her crops this upcoming season and she was excited to present her hard work soon to king James, she hoped he would accept her as her fathers heir to the farm and not just his daughter. Mrs. watcher was preparing the wagon one autumn day while Lilac and Mr. watcher brought crates of fresh produce the day had come at last! Lilac thought as she helped her father prepare. "take care my loves I will see you later tonight" Mrs. watcher kissed her daughters cheek than kissed her husband lovingly. "I love you my dear becareful" Mr. watcher kisses her back "of course" he climbs up on the wagon and smiles at Lilac "ready my carrot?" Lilac smiles brightly and with admiration at her father "yes daddy I can't wait to see the city and give king James our produce I am sure he will love it". Mr. watcher nods and asks the horses to speed up " we have worked hard so I am sure he will be pleased, also my carrot mind your manners alright? only speak if he says so and you must curtsy properly and be kind". Lilac thought to herself "a lot of rules" she nods than speaks "of course daddy I shall be on my best behavior".
