CHAPTER ONE
Jasmine stood outside the door. The cool breeze harshly hit her face and her hair flew violently around her in response. She closed her eyes letting the breeze crawl over her bare skin. She felt it's coldness. But yes, that was the only thing she could obviously do. FEEL. If only she could see too. She made her way to the bench which was permanently suited at the front of her house. As she sat on it, she tied the scarf which she held on her hand previously, on her neck. She heard faint footsteps behind her and knew who it was immediately. "Mother." She muttered. "Darling." Kate moved closer and kissed both Jasmine's cheeks gently. "It's kinda chilly out here. This thin scarf won't do any justice to this cold unless you are asking for a death wish baby." Kate wrapped Jasmine's tiny body with a thick blanket. "There. This is better." She sat worriedly beside her daughter. "When will you ever stop worrying about me? Not like I am a kid anymore" Jasmine feigned a mean look. Not that she wasn't grateful. In Fact, all her life and to everything she had, she owed her sweet parents. No way she'd never be grateful for what they did for her. "Well I guess that's your big way of saying 'Thank you' Miss Jasmine?" Without waiting for a response, she signed and slapped her thighs with her palms. "Okay then 'Miss' I'll take that as a yes." She said playfully. "Okay. Alright. Whatever." Jasmine rolled her small eyes. After a few seconds of unusual silence between them, Kate decided to break it. After taking a deep breath, she started; "Jasmine, your dad and I discussed something today." "Was it about me?" She gave her mother a worried look. "Actually, we came to a decision to withdraw you from school for the mean time and whenever you ready you'll get an eyes transplant. That, before you continue with school. But I realized it was kinda harsh making a decision on your behalf without your opinion so I decided to let you know about this before going ahead with the decision." She rubbed her daughter's palm softly. "You can't make that decision for me!" She yelled unconsciously "You can't." She lowered her voice when she realised how harsh her tone was. " That's why I'm here to hear from you." "But not like it'll change anything. Not like my opinion will really matter anyway." She said plainly. Kate could feel the hurt in her daughter's voice so she squeezed her palm lightly. "Darling, it's for your own..." "My own what? My own good? Oh please!" She roughly released her palm from her mother's hand. "You know they don't treat you well in that f**king school! Do you really enjoy the way the kids treat you as trash?" Kate couldn't help but scream at her daughter. She couldn't hold back anymore. She let the tears pour freely without even trying to hold back. " Oh! You really aren't saying anything now are you?" She said when she got no response from Jasmine. "Well it's my business that I'm bullied! Okay? It's my f**king business and not yours. Or wait? Are you that embarrassed? Are you that embarrassed of me? You guys rarely take me to family events or anything! You just drop me at Granny's and that is that! You're so not different from all of those bullies too and I'm just sick of staying around you guys!" She howled at her poor mother who just stood in shock staring at her. She knew she really didn't mean those harsh words but it was too late. "Oh, I see. You now compare your own family to those filthy bullies right? Seriously? Have you forgotten that you're blind and that you..." Before she could even finish her sentence, she was cut short by Jasmine's sore voice. " Thank you" she said in almost what seemed to be a whisper. " What?" Her mother said confused. "Thank you for reminding me that I'm blind and I'm literally nothing without you. ALL OF YOU!" and with that, she stormed into the house angrily but carefully making sure she didn't miss a step. "Jasmine! Jasmine! Jazzy baby! Sweetheart!" Kate called after her daughter following her into the house. She knocked on her door several times but Jasmine didn't budge. " Sweetheart I'm sorry okay? I'm so sorry for what I said earlier. I really didn't mean it I swear! I was just emotional and couldn't hold back so I said all of those mean things. I'm sorry dear please don't be angry at mummy." Kate couldn't help but cried seeing that her daughter didn't even answer her. " Please" she cried in a whisper. "Just go away I don't want to talk to you!" Jasmine screamed from her room. After a few unfulfilled attempt to talk to her daughter, she went to her room feeling down. * * * " Hey fam what's up..." Mr David couldn't continue his sentence seeing how depressed his wife looked at the corner of the sitting room where she sat alone and all gloomy. He walked up to Kate and noticing her swollen her eyes were, he threw her into a comforting embrace. " Tell me what it's about this time." He whispered gently into her ears. "Jasmine. I told her about her withdrawal from school. Since then she won't talk to me. I've been knocking on her door but she'd just yelled at me. She said she wanted to be alone. She was really hurt David. My baby was hurt and I couldn't do anything to comfort her." She weeped in his arms. " It's okay sweetie. It's alright. I'll talk to her." He gave her a light peck on her forehead and patted her hair softly. ............................................................................ Bella strode down the hallway majestically with her head high. Her intimidating glare would make anyone think thrice before approaching her. She was indeed a beauty and a glorious sight for anyone to behold. Her three minions followed her wherever she went. They never gave her breathing space but she actually didn't mind. She sighted a cute guy across the hallway placing something inside his locker. She brushed her hair with her palms and gave out a smirk. She walked up to him afterwards and stood before him. "Hi." She said in a sexy tone. "Hey." He said shutting his locker. He was Xavier Hunchman the coolest guy in Clarkson's High. He was also their best basketballer and because of this Bella became the Head cheer leader. Ever since middle school, she had always crushed on him and had been trying so hard to make him notice her but it seemed it never worked but that doesn't mean she would give up; I mean, Bella Lane never gives up. She ran her slender fingers on his jacket and gave him a sexy look. "I was wondering if I could buy you lunch today?" She whispered biting her lower lips. He caught her hand before it could go any further down. "I'm sorry. I'm eating with my team." Was his raspy reply. She couldn't give up. Not in front of her friends nor his. She drew closer. " How about tomorrow? You'd be free I guess?" She said still maintaining her alluring tone. "I'm sorry. I can't make it tomorrow too." He said and backing her, he strolled down the hall with his friends. "Dude! That was Bella right there you know! Any guy would kill to just engage her in a conversation." Dean, Xavier's friend and teammate said astound by Xavier's attitude towards her. " Just a reminder, I'm not 'Any guy' I'm Xavier Hunchman. I won't let people's false emotions get to me. She just likes me cause I'm popular and nothing else. You should know better." Xavier said to him. " Well Xavier, Dean's right. I don't mind being 'Any guy' as long as I get the chance to spend even a night with her." Jeff added. " Why Don't you give it a shot then? You're also cool. You know she wouldn't reject you." Xavier said in a mockery tone. " Really? Well I think you're right Xavier." He replied. Xavier scoffed and walked away not wanting to hear anymore from his irksome friends. " This guy - can really never change" Brad, the quiet of the trio patted on Dean's shoulder and walked away. "Seriously?" Dean said in a bit of disappointment. Jeff pulled Dean's hand gesturing him to follow him. * * * "Seriously? Try all you want Xavier Hunchman, you can't still resist me; no guy ever has!" Bella stormed away angrily trying to hide the embarrassment that was visible on her pale face. Her friends looked at one another but none got the guts to ask if she was really okay. After some seconds of staring at each other with none making the first move, they shrugged and decided to follow her wherever she went.
