Alyssa was forced into marriage with the alpha of the most popular pack, because her father hated her and wanted to get rid of her. It was against her wish because of the rumors she had been hearing about the alpha, but nobody cared. They got married in front of everyone the next two days. They had their wedding night, which resulted in pregnancy.

Seeing how ruthless the alpha was, she knew that she couldn't possibly let anyone else know of her pregnancy. So, she ran away, but got saved by a lycan king, getting into a bigger trouble.

Alyssa's POV I enjoyed my morning walks. Especially through the woods. It was like a devotion for me. Every morning after breakfast, I would walk through the woods and come back feeling happy and relieved. Usually, my mother would be by the entrance, waiting to scold me for going off too long. Though, mother usually had a soft loving expression on her face as she did that. But today, as I skipped happily into the threshold to find my mom wearing a solemn face, I instantly knew something was wrong. The atmosphere was heavy and everyone seemed to be down. My mother pulled me into a hug and she wasn't scolding me which was very odd. Instead, she kissed the top of my head and whispered, "Let's go in, your father has something to discuss with you." My heart skipped a beat. Father rarely interacted with me, and when he did, it was over something very serious. If he needed me to do something, he made mother tell me. I had long since come to term with the fact that he never wanted me, I was just another liability. His sole attention was my brother, who was a year younger than I was, and was to be the heir. With heavy steps, I followed my mother into the house, to where my father always sat, dealing with some paperwork I knew nothing about. When we entered, my mother tightened her grip on my hand. "Where were you?" He asked gruffly, not bothering to glance up from what he was focused on. "I took a walk," I replied quietly. He never knew it was a habit of mine. He never cared and I doubted he would begin to care even if he knew. So, why was he suddenly interested in what I was up to? "Another silly habit your mother let you cultivate," He finally shifted his gaze but not to me, he glared at mother as if to blame her for bringing me into the world. Mother looked down, still clinging to my palm. "But that will have to stop soon," He said. Immediately, I frowned. He was clearly implying something and it was difficult to follow. "Come," My father beckoned and then, he turned to his wife saying, "You leave us." Mother hesitated, but deciding it was best not to go against him, she squeezed my palm one last time and left. As I watched her leave, I wanted to plead with her not to leave. This was all strange, my father never wanted to see me, he never wanted to interact with me, so what was all this? I took reluctant steps until I was standing right beside him. "Now unlike your brother, I don't expect you to understand the whole concept of alliances, but I believe you're familiar with the name Alpha Killian. The alpha of the greenwood pack." He paused to look into my face and see if there was any recognition. Of course I knew Alpha Killian, everyone did. He was brutal and known for being merciless, he killed anyone who talked back at him. He tortured rogues who dared to trespass his territory. His name evoked fear and every pack knew never to start a war with him, everyone wanted to be on his good side. But why was he asking me? As far as I knew, this was one of the conversations he had only with my brother. I merely nodded, eager to know where this was going. "We have decided to build an alliance with the greenwood pack that will benefit us immensely. You know what it is like to be on Alpha Killian's good side. The pack have come to the conclusion that the best way for that is through marriage," He said. Before he even finished his sentence, I started shaking my head. I had a gut feeling where this was going. Panic was already building in me. Don't say it. Don't say it. I internally pleaded with my father. "You'll be the bride to the Alpha of the Greenwood pack," He announced, grabbing a paper and resumed working like he hadn't just ruined my life. "We have sent a message to the Alpha, the wedding date will be set in no time. You can leave." He waved his hands in dismissal. I was rooted to a spot. My father wanted me to embark on a suicide mission. No, murder mission because this wasn't what I would ever in my right mind sign up for. Alpha Killian will kill me. I was so sure of it. "What have you done to him? This isn't just for alliance, you've done something you know he won't forgive you for! So, you're sending me over to appease him!" I didn't know where the courage came from. Maybe it was the fear and panic. Maybe it was the thought of death that hung over my head. Father briefly stared at me, his eyes piercing and then finally, he smiled, a small smile that was almost unnoticeable. "Not as dull as I assumed you to be. Now be smart also and prevent an impending do on this pack." "No! You're sending me to my death. He will kill me! Especially if he knows I'm your daughter. He will send my slit head to you. You're literally making me die in your place!" I was yelling at this point. Oh, how I hated the thought of marrying Killian, but above all, I hated this man called my father. He was eerily calm at my outburst. "Hopefully not," He said. "Leave or I'll slit it before Killian gets to." I balled my fist. A single tear dropped down my cheeks. I couldn't move. I knew my father never saw me more than a burden, but I never knew he would willingly put me in danger. I was sure I would have done something to my father's aging face, perhaps punch him if mother hadn't reappeared at that moment. She peeked her head meekly and quietly dragged me out of the room. Once we were outside, she pulled me into a hug. "I can't do this! He's going to kill me! Haven't you heard the stories, mother?" I cried as her mother rocked me gently. "Mother, stop him please!" When my mother said nothing, I made up my mind. I was going to run, to Goddess knows where, but I wasn't about to be the sacrificial lamb for the entire pack. I understood my mother, no one in the pack went against father. So, wiping my tears away, I pulled away from the hug and offered to be alone. Mother sympathetically nodded. I walked to my room, but my plan to be alone failed because my brother, Fred, sat on the only available sofa, waiting for me. "Should I challenge father? Perhaps to a duel. If all goes well, I could even kill him and be the alpha. That way, my only sister won't be sent to the altar of a ruthless man," Fred said immediately as I came in, his face filled with worry. That brought a smile on my face, no matter how much love our father had showered on Fred, it never broke the sibling bond we shared. He felt my pain and always tried to soften father's harshness towards me. "You shouldn't be planning the death of your dear father," I said, falling face first on my bed. Fred shrugged, he sat beside me and held my hand. "Do you really want to do this?" No. "Yes," I lied firmly. Knowing how immature and reckless Fred could be, he would really try to challenge our father if I showed any distress about the wedding. 'Yes. But tonight I'll be a missing bride. Tonight, I'm escaping.' I thought.
