Chapter Two

"No and frankly, I don't really care. Just give me your blessing and I'll be on my way." I looked him dead in the eyes. "No." He stated, then walked back to his throne. "You are not ready to bare his mark." "What the hell are you talking about, old man?" Where the hell did all this aggression and confidence come from? "You must learn to control your demon side before you can be linked to Matt. It is written in your destiny." He said with his eyes closed. "Have you even communicated with that side of yourself yet?" "As a matter of fact, yes, and just like you, he is an a-hole.'' Omen gave me a small chuckle. "Wait, HE?!" He asked with wide eyes. "Yes, his name is Marshall and the other sides name is Noah." I said, with my arms still crossed. "Yes," Omen said, while stoking his beard. "it seems you were indeed bred and born to be a power house." he looked down and smiled to himself. I'm not really sure where he is going with any of this though. “I will not give you my blessing daughter,” I scoffed and continued for the exit door. “UNTIL” he shouted, making my feet rooted to where I stood, but I refused to turn around. “Until you master both your angel and demon side. Until then I’m afraid I can’t bless you and Matt.” I continued to the door and left without another word. “Father?” Damon spoke softly as to not upset the demon king. “Bring me Matt.” Omen spoke in a harsh tone. * * * Matt’s POV * * * The house feels empty now, like all life is void because of Blues absence. I wander what she is doing now. Has she eaten today? Has she slept? Is she safe? All these thoughts invading my mind, making it impossible to do work. Sitting at my desk I look at a framed picture of Blue sleeping. The same picture that was left on my desk before she taken so long ago. The memories began to flow in my brain like it happened just yesterday. Remembering Blues lifeless body laying on that table. The pain and anger I felt. Will she ever come back to me or does she blame me for James’s death? I marked her when I shouldn’t have, I was being selfish. I ran my fingers through my hair and leaned back into my chair. “Brother?” A soft voice came from behind my office door with an equally as soft knock. “What is it Casey?” I look up to see Casey’s sad expression. Her belly was beginning to grow along with her pup. “Umm, I was just wondering...I-if you’ve heard from Blue. I have an appointment coming up and...” she looked down at the floor, knowing I haven’t talked to Blue since that night. “Cass...” “No, no it’s okay. She probably just forgot or something. She has more important things to do right now.” I could see her trying to fake a smile but her eyes were filled with pain. I picked up my phone and began dialing. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” A man’s voice whispered from behind me, making me freeze in my tracks. I hung the phone up and put it back down slowly. “Who are you?” Keeping my attention on the mystery guy while keeping my eyes on Casey. She wasn’t moving it’s like she is frozen in time. As I took another look I realized she wasn’t frozen just slowed down. A small tear slowly slid down her face, a single second turned into a minute. “I’m not here to hurt you Mathew. In fact I’m here with an invitation.” “And why would I want that?” I could practically hear the smirk on the guys face. “Oh dear where are my manners.” He said and strolled from behind me before sitting on the corner of my desk. “Hello, I’m Damon, demon prince.” He extended his hand towards me, but I just looked at him. Damon wore a black leather coat and bleach washed jeans. He doesn’t seem to have a scent which is probably why he was able to penetrate into the pack house without anyone noticing. “Ah, well I’m here to formally invite you to the demon kingdom.” He said while withdrawing his hand, and walking away from my desk. He stepped towards Casey who was still in the time warp. Damon’s eyes grew large, and anger grew with them. “Is this the reason you didn’t travel with my sister?! You betrayed her with some wolf w***e?!” “What the hell are you talking about?” “This wench, the one who bares a mark and a growing fetus! She has your stench all over her.” He walked towards Cass with menace fueled eyes. I rushed by her side and shielded her body with my own. “Look I think you have the wrong idea here, that’s my-“ “Spare me your lies! My sister stated she left you and now I see the reason why.” Staring daggers into Casey, who was oblivious to what was happening before her. “Left me?” My chest stung with his words. I wasn’t thrilled he called Casey a wench and w***e but Blue didn’t leave me. “Blue wouldn’t leave me. She had to deal with her father so we could be together.” “Then explain, because Blue and this whole situation is stating other wise.” Damon spoke in a harsh tone seemingly ready for a fight. As he reached for Casey’s neck, I grabbed his wrist. “Look after James’s death Blue left to get her fathers blessing to be marked. This-“ I stated pointing towards Cass. “This is my little sister. Her mate was James.” Damon continued to stare at Casey. That single tear finally reaching past her cheek. How long has it been since time was slowed down? Damon adjusted his coat and cleared his throat. “Well I guess my sister will just have to explain things to father then. Until then my father requests your presents in the kingdom.” “What for?” I said skeptically. Damon stood silent trying to form words before he spoke. “There was a bit of an argument between father and my sister.” “Where is Blue now?” Damon averted his eyes from me and Casey. He looked like a deer in headlights. “Where. Is. Blue!” I shouted. “We don’t know.” He said in almost a whisper. “What the hell do you mean you don’t know?! How could you lose her?!” “She walked out of the castle after her and fathers discussion. I haven’t been able to track her down.” Surprised by Damon’s words, i started pacing my office. “I have to call her, find her, I have to do something!” I reached for my phone and tried to unlock the screen. “Time is still slowed, your phone is useless for now.” Damon stated. “You need to come to the kingdom and talk to my father. Blue is still in New York I can assure you that, we are just unsure as of where.”
