Chapter Five

Before I knew it we were speeding down the road at an alarming rate. I ran through red lights and stop signs with no intention on stopping until I get home. I heard the beeping of my Bluetooth headset inside of my helmet. "You got Ryder." I answered. “Dude where the hell are you? One minute you're here the next you're gone." Vics voice came through the headset phone call. "I thought we were hanging out at the club house tonight. " I'm taking Blue home first Vic. There is no bloody way I would ever bring an unconscious girl to the club house." "You act like she is your pet or something. The least you can do is share with your friends." "I'm hanging up now, I'll talk to you later." " You do know she is probably mated by now. I mean she is the princess, there is no way she isn't. You're just setting your self up for disappointment, you know." I hung up the phone in frustration, of course I know that but that does't mean I can't change her mind. I took the final turn into the parking garage, and parked my bike in my usual spot. I can't believe Blue is still passed out, I don't know how often she lets her demon out but, I can tell it takes alot out of her. I carried her to the elevator and stepped inside, pushed the very last button to the top floor. The elevator opens up to the inside of my penthouse entrance. I really need to redecorate this place, its been the same since the old leader owned it. It doesn’t look bad persay, just not my taste. Its far from modern but it has an elegant feel to it. Everything is either white or gold, like I said not bad just plain. I walked Blue up to the second floor and into my bedroom, I hope she doesn't mind. My room is just as bleak as the rest of the house, plain white walls nothing to fancy. My bed situated in the middle of the room with black bed clothes. I laid her down and took her shoes off, then covered her up. I started to walk out of the room until my phone started ringing. I reached into my pocket to silence the noise, frustrated and pissed off I looked at the caller ID, “what the hell does she want now?” “What do you want?" I said harshly “What? No hello, no how are you?” The voice, like a nail on a chalk board in my ear. "That is no way to answer a phone, Ryder.” "It is when your the one on the other end. What do you want Olivia?" I snapped back "I miss you, and I was hopping you would be at the club tonight." " No, I have better things to do then entertain you tonight." "Like what?!" She screeched. " What could be better then spending the day with the future demon queen…. Are you with someone? Is that why you didn't come to the club?" "you really need to get a life Olivia. Also you might want to talk to your father soon about the whole queen thing. I got to go, don't call again." " Wait Ryder, I chose you as my destined mate. I thought you wanted me." She said in a sad tone. "Olivia listen it was cool hanging out with you but I found my mate, so ya' know... sorry. " I hung my phone up and took one last look at the sleeping Blue. I'll walk through fire for the true queen, I thought to myself. I walked out of the room and back down stairs. I stood at the bottom of my stairs for a second, something is off. I could sense someone else in the house, but I couldn't tell who. I walked further into the living room, I could see a figure sitting on the couch. Their back turned to me. Their blonde hair peaking over the back of the couch. "God damn it, what the hell are you doing here? Security needs to be fired." “Calm down, little brother, Can't I just pop in to say hello?” “You haven't came to see me in years, especially without wanting something River." I rolled my eyes at him. “Okay, I deserve that little brother.” He stood up from the couch and walked over to me. “Father wants to know why you dumped Olivia.” He said in a harsh tone. “That’s none of his business River. Besides she isn’t who everyone thinks she is. She’s a fake.” “What the hell are you talking about?! Why are you so dense? Dads going to be pissed when he finds out you dumped her. Don’t you ever just stop and think about anyone but yourself?” I groaned at his words. “If father wants me to be with the queen then he needs to be patient.” I smiled to myself. "You need to call Olivia back and make up with her. Father isn't going to want to here another excuse out of you." "This isn't an excuse River, this is..." I heard the pitter patter of light foot steps from upstairs. Blue is up and probably confused, I turn to the direction of stairs. " you'll see what I mean in a second. " I grinned. Blues beautiful figure came bouncing down the steps. River followed my gaze and his eyes widened. " Well, well, well who is this fine enchantress? Rye you never said anything about having such a beauty sleeping in your bed." "River chill. Blue you okay? Do you need anything?" I asked as I walked over to her, she still looks exhausted and kind of out of it. I tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. River walked up behind me, "Need me to tuck you back into bed kitten? Maybe keep you warm for a while?" I elbowed him in the chest. Blue looks terrified, “Ow, what I’m just trying to show your little guest some love. That’s what she is here for right?” River stretched his hand out to stroke Blues face, but she backed away. Her cheeks turned an adorable red shade and tears threatened her eyes. “Mhm I like it when their scared.” River continued to press towards Blue until she stumbled back and fell on the steps. “Come here little mouse, I won’t bite.” Baring his fangs at her, he pressed her against the stairs “Shut it River, now is not the time, you freak.” I grabbed the back of his shirt collar and pulled him back. I reached my hand out to Blue, but she flinched. “Hey come on now, I’m not gunna hurt you.” It stings to see her flinch at me, but it’s understandable. One minute she’s at a pub the next she’s at some strangers house with no memory of how she got there. Not to mention some sicko scaring her. She looked at my hand then back to me, she shot up from the step she was sitting on and ran back up the stairs. “Blue! Goddamn it. BLUE!…” I looked back to River, his eyes a deep black and his hands now claws. “River no.” He flashed a devilish smile before disappearing up the steps. “River don’t!” Damn, if she goes full demon again I hope she kills him. I ran after the two as fast as I could, but by the time I got to the top of the stairs I heard the door slam and Blues scream. I ran to the door and tried to open it, locked, so I tried to shoulder charge the door open. “Come here little mouse, don’t you know I like the chase.” I could hear River talking though the door. “That’s right let the tears fall, as long as they are for me.” Blue let out another muffled scream, “There is no safe word for you little mouse, I don’t plan on stopping.” “RIVER!” I slammed the door with all my strength, little did I know the hinges were pretty old. They splintered into hundreds of tiny metal pieces, and the door landed with a thud. River had a hold of Blues neck and her shirt was ripped open. Tears were streaming down her face as she struggled to breath.
