Flash back 18 years ago Rick's pov "Get your ass up to that library and do your studies on our pack history!" My dad, Alpha Jon of the Clear water pack, has been training me to take over as alpha. I don't need to do all this training. I know what to do, I know how to keep this pack strong. "You know it's not just about keeping the pack strong. We need to protect the pack, keep it financially secure, and keep the promise of a bright future." Vince growled at me. "Shut it Vince! I didn't ask for your opinion!" Stupid mutt, always speaking when I don’t want him to. I am the one in control, not him.  "I can hear your thoughts, stupid human." He spit out with venom. I put up a block as I walked into the library and started digging into the first book I saw. It's a thick old leather bound book. I could barely make out the letters on the cover. I flipped through a little bit before I realized it wasn't about werewolves. Witches? I flipped it closed to look closer at the cover. Witches of Clear Water. Wait this is about the witches of Clear Water? I didn't know there were witches here. I opened it back up, some pages were in another language I didn't know but others I could read. As I flipped through I started to notice these pages in another language are actually spells. I wonder if there are any witches still in the area. "Wouldn't you like to know!" Vince’s low drawl came through the link. "SHUT IT!" Damn mutt always butting in! How would I find a witch? “You’re such an idiot.” He growled at me, he never really did care for me. I flipped through the book listening to Vince making snide comments on and off. I saw a spell that looked like it separated a human from a wolf. “Keep it up Vince and I will find a witch to do this for us.” I smiled knowing I am probably starting to annoy him for once. “I can only pray to the Moon Goddess that this will happen someday in the near future.” I growled again slamming the book closed and shoving it into my backpack to bring to my room. As I was leaving the room something I hadn’t noticed before caught my eye. An old map on the wall showed the old pack house and a bunch of other houses around the lake.  I forgot about the old ruins, maybe I should go for a walk through there, who knows maybe I will find a witch to finally rid me of this idiotic dog. “You wish!” He shouted back. End of Flashback Jane's pov I woke up feeling well rested and Chastity was finally calm in my mind. I looked around the room and saw a door and assumed it was the bathroom. Next to it was a chair that had a fresh set of folded clothes on it. I stood up and picked up the clothes, there was a pair of black leggings and a simple grey t-shirt. Surprisingly they were my size and there was a note on it. It read, ‘Didn’t want to wake you, please use these after you freshen up then stop at the nurses station before you leave to sign your discharge paperwork. I will be back at eight. -Leo.”  I made my way over to the door and was shocked to see the bathroom was decently large. It also had a walk in shower, I sighed as I neared it. I could actually shower and feel more like me again. I used the bathroom then opened the cabinet next to the toilet. There was a cup filled with unopened tooth brushes, a stack of travel sized toothpaste, white towels of different sizes and some travel size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.  I quickly grabbed what I needed and jumped into the shower, I ran it as hot as I could stand and steam filled the bathroom quickly. Once I was washed and cleaned I stood under the water and let it massage my muscles for a few minutes before I climbed out. Once I was dressed I brushed my teeth then brushed my long black hair. I braided in and then looped the bottom of a braid into a knot to keep it from falling out.  I looked at myself in the mirror one last time before I walked out, when I did there was a nurse setting a bag on the bed. She turned around and smiled at me, “you look much better than you did when you came in here last night.” She was maybe five foot six inches, she had bleach blonde hair that was straight and pulled into a ponytail and she had on blue scrubs.  I looked at her confused, “I was one of the nurses on when you came in, I just left you a bag for anything you need to bring with you and to let you know you’re all good to go, this has your discharge paperwork and you just need to sign at the station before you head out.” She said as she held up an orange folder.  “Thank you.” I said to her and she nodded her head. “You’re welcome, oh and you can bring that toothbrush and any soap you used with you. Otherwise we have to throw them out.” I nodded my head and she walked out of the room. I turned around to grab the folder and the bag. I let out a soft sigh and realized that there was so much to figure out and it made me feel overwhelmed. "Hey Jane, are you ready?" I jumped at the sudden deep voice in the room, Leo was right on time. "Um yeah!" I grabbed the folder with my discharge instructions and followed Leo out the door. I stopped at the nurses station that was just down from my room, they handed me the papers and I quickly signed them before following Leo down the hall. I didn't realize how big this hospital really was until we walked outside. The huge brick building was at least 10 stories tall. There was a roundabout under a huge brick canopy with a garden in the center. As we were walking out to the parking area a question popped into my head. "How did you meet Marcus?" I blurted out. He started to chuckle, "that's actually a funny story, he is my sister's husband. Well when she first brought him home to meet the family we were not pleased, okay I wasn't. She brought him out for Christmas and I was told to be on my best behavior. I have always been a bit of a prankster so I had a plan." he had the biggest smile on his face. I knew it had to be good. "First I tried getting him wet outside, but he dodged it, like it was nothing and instead I got my dad. Saying he was mad would have been an understatement. Then I pulled out some eggs and set them up over the chair he would have sat in for dinner. Only I didn't expect my mom to take his seat instead. As soon as she sat down a dozen eggs dropped on her head ruining her Christmas dress. At that point I was banished to my room for the night. Well I had the great idea to get my paintball gear on and loaded up the paintball gun. I walked downstairs ready to aim fire on him and instead I was met with an empty house. I headed outside looking for them and saw nobody. Then I felt myself getting pelted in the back. I turned to see him in full on paintball gear. My father suspected what I had planned and gave him his gear to use. By the time we were done he didn't have a single speck on him. I was covered head to toe though." By the time he was done talking my sides hurt from laughing. "Wow! That's impressive!" "I thought so too! After that we slowly became best friends." He unlocked the car and we both clambered in. "Now I am his Beta." "Wait, what?" I was shocked. A human that was a beta! "Most humans know about you guys by now. Especially after the plane crash that brought down the world trade centers. Most of the humans believe it was you guys, but who would want to kill their own royalty? Now I am thankful to say I am so very happy to finally meet you.” He smiled at me, his brown eyes gleaming in the light. "Oh, he told you!" I didn’t know how I felt about that, he knew about me but kept his distance. "Jane, we have known about you since you were a kid. Marcus left the red moon pack before you could remember him." He grimaced a little, I could tell he was unsure if he should be the one to tell me this. "Wait, my uncle was in the red moon pack?" By now even Chastity was confused. "I think it's best if you let him explain." We climbed into a black pickup truck that had a grey stripe down the middle. I “Is this the truck you hit me with?” I asked casually. He laughed, “no, I hit you with a small car, you actually totaled it.”  t wasn’t long before we turned onto a dirt road that had huge trees that were like a canopy over the road. "Wow, this is beautiful! I can’t wait to go for a run out here.” I said to Chastity. "You said it Jane! Oh Jane look! there's a river with a small waterfall over there!" I could feel her excitement. She wasn't joking, it was absolutely gorgeous! You could barely make out the waterfall through the trees. After a few more minutes of driving the trees vanished and something like a small village came into view. There were a bunch of little cottages all over plus barns and a huge white and brown ranch house in the back overlooking all of it. "This feels just like a pack house!" I said to Leo as we pulled up in front. "While growing up it was just the house and a couple barns. Now it's like it's own little village." He spoke with pride and a smile on his face. I walked up the porch and opened the big brown door with a stained glass window of a wolf howling at the moon. “Well that’s not obvious at all?” I rolled my eyes at Chastity. When I walked in the first thing that caught my eye was this chandelier made out of what looked to be a big old wagon wheel. There was a set of dark reddish brown stairs to the right that curved up to what looked like an open loft area. "Hey, Marcus and Liz are this way." he said while nodding his head to the left. I followed him through a huge living room that had 3 TVs, multiple gaming systems, and a pool table. There were bookshelves filled with books along the side wall. Once we rounded the corner there was a dining room and attached to that was a huge kitchen. The kitchen had 2 gas stove tops with 6 burners each, 2 massive fridges, 2 sets of double ovens with a farmhouse style sink complete with a gorgeous window overlooking the back garden. The window was stained glass around the edges and clear in the middle. The sun shining through it left a beautiful pattern along the grey tile that looks like wood. "Whoa! This kitchen is massive!" I said as I began to take in all the features. "Thanks! I designed it with some help from these two of course!" A lady I assumed was Liz said with pride in her voice. "I even made the window myself." I was impressed, the window was gorgeous.  "Well it's absolutely beautiful! You have some amazing taste." I reached my hand out to her, "My name is Jane." She took my hand, "It's nice to finally meet you Jane! I am Liz, Marcus' wife." "Hey! I thought I heard you!" Marcus came walking into the room beaming with happiness! "Look I know we have a lot to talk about but right now we have a few things that need to be done first." "What is it that needs to be done first?" I was getting quite impatient, I wanted answers and was getting sick of waiting.  "Jane, do you smell that?!" Chastity asked and I took a whiff, my spirits started to rise, no way! How did they find me? "Come on in guys, she caught your scent." Marcus said with a laugh, in walked Sean and Jace, "They got here last night." I didn't wait, I ran right into their open arms. I did notice Sean had a walking stick in one hand and he looked weak. It's only been a few days, what's happened? "What happened after I left! Emily? How is she?" "Jace will explain to you, I need to talk to Marcus." He gave Marcus an all knowing look. I wasn't about to question Sean, he looked exhausted. I was just happy to have them both here, two of my favorite people on the planet. "How about you two go out to the stables and meet up with Terra." Liz suggested. "Who is Terra?" I asked Liz "She would be your cousin, our daughter. She is normally in the stables working with the horses by now." She answered, Sean bent down and kissed the top of my head and I smiled up at him. I grabbed Jaces hand and headed back towards the front door. I stopped and looked at Marcus, "After lunch, I want an explanation." Marcus only nodded in my direction. Once we were outside I grabbed Jace and pulled him into a hug. "I never thought I would see you again!" He returned the hug in a vice like grip leaving my feet to dangle above the porch. "You're telling me? Do you have any idea how scared I was when I caught up to your scent at the highway with a pool of your blood?" he looked just as thankful as I felt. I have always felt a pull towards him but today something feels different. I have four days until I turn 18 and then I can find my mate. Jace looked deep into my eyes searching for something. I couldn't help but feel like something was tugging on my heart. Then I felt it, a hot searing pain in my head. "Jane, Jane! you have to find your mate before your father finds you!" It was the same voice that warned me a few days ago, only she sounds strained. “Jane, what's wrong?" I didn't realize I was screaming, the pain was so intense. "Ahh, my head! It hurts so bad! Make it stop Jace! Make the voice stop!" black dots danced in front of my eyes and my vision was beginning to blur.  "Jane, you have to find him and mate with him before your father finds you! There is a spell..." Darkness took over and everything went quiet. Jace's pov I watched as Jane screamed in pain and then she just passed out, "Jane, open your eyes! Jane!" I was gently shaking her while she was in my arms. A couple of rogues were already heading our way when I felt Marcus next to me. "What happened?" his voice filled with urgency and concern. "I'm not sure, she was screaming for the voice to stop." I could feel my chest tightening, worry coursing through my body.  "Alpha! May I?" It was an older man with white hair, about six foot four." Concern was written all over his face. He put his hands on either side of her head and his palm over her temples. All of a sudden he jumped back. "That's not possible! She's not just the wolf from a spell, she's the very first female wolf to ever come from this spell and survive! The witch that did this did not realize what they were doing!" his face had turned white at this point. "That spell was forbidden! The pain was from someone trying to contact her, someone blood related." He turned to Sean, "Alpha Sean, where did you find her?" "Her mother begged for her protection, so I offered it to both of them. She refused; she led them away. I thought she was dead until Marcus came to me about a year later. I only recently told her about her mother being alive." He looked down at her with sadness. "She is part of a prophecy. Is she a mostly white wolf?" He was looking at Jane with a sparkle in his eye. "She is actually all white with deep blue eyes that almost glow." He smirked. "She isn't of age yet. When will she be 18?" "In a few days, why?" Dad moved over to me to help with her, which wasn’t easy as he was still relying on the walking stick. "We have much to prepare for. Her wolf is small, for now. When she turns 18 she will go through a second transition. Her wolf right now is nothing but a pup." He smiled then his smile faded. My jaw dropped. Her wolf isn't that much smaller than mine and she's only a pup! "How do we know you're telling the truth?" I growled at him, suddenly feeling defensive. "Because I am also a product from that spell, her mother giving her up for protection is the oldest type of magic there is. It's added strength to her, she will have more abilities than even I could imagine. Has she shown any odd powers, moving air, water?" Sean looked at him, "when she was a kid, before she even had her wolf, we got into an argument. She made everyone in the room, including myself, submit without even trying to. She felt horrible afterwards." I remember that day, she came into my room a total wreck. The rogue had a look of shock on his face. "she didn't even have her wolf! How? There was speculation that the females could be a hundred times more powerful than an average alpha, but she made a room of wolves submit without even trying. She is going to need a lot of help." "Wait, how can we trust you!" I asked him, I clung to Jane like he might snatch her away. "Young alpha, if the prophecy is true then she has my full loyalty." He satiated as he bowed his head in respect. "What Prophecy you haven't even told us!" I was now yelling, confusion fueled my anger. "The prophecy is that a war is coming, only she can stop it and bring peace throughout the whole werewolf community. Not just in North America but throughout the entire world.” He emphasized with his hands. That's when I realized no matter what we had to protect her, I always knew my little sister would be destined for greatness. I just didn’t think it would be stopping a war. I looked down at and smiled, no matter what I will be by her side through thick and thin.
