CHAPTER 6

Jezz thinking about Clara is right, she looks so kind and sweet the way she acts.

“Jezz, let's follow her. I think this is our chance.

Clara said.

“No! not this time, I’m getting tired already. Maybe tomorrow”.

Jezz said.

"But ... Je.. e"

Clara didn't finish what she wanted to say because Jezz had already stand up and ready to leave to place.

At this time, Jezz is no longer consented for what Clara’s next thing to do because, she remembers the time of what Issabelle did with Kent and Zero at Kent’s house.

For her, no matter what else she’s wearing and the way she looks, she is not like a normal female student. Because she behaved something different and Jezz even wondered why she was doing those sinful things. And also Kent and Zero.

“ Is there something about them?”

Jezz ask asks herself while walking at the lobby with Clara on her back.

Clara just follow the steps of Jezz. as she did not understand why Jezz suddenly change her mind.

“Sometimes, we have to keep these two sentences “we don’t know and we don’t see anything” because we don’t want anyone else to lose and get hurt"

Then Jezz suddenly spoke, while thinking about the past few days’ happenings to her.

" I hope I never meet you again."

Jezz said.

“what? Do did you say?

Clara asked Jezz with astonishment, because of the deep word left out of her mouth and Clara heard it clearly.

“I mean, let’s get ready for the next class. Maybe our professor will give us a short examination. It would be much better if we reviewed our lesson yesterday”.

Jezz said to Clara. And Clara had observed something different about Jezz as she knew that Jezz had just changed the topic. She started to think that Jezz was keeping a secret from her.

Now Jezz realizes that hiding secrets is hard work. You have to watch for whatever you say, it requires your attention. And the presence of your mind must be at the same level. That is, how we handle it, in our daily routine as we carry out the other corresponding trials in life.

Clara, choose to be silent during the class.but her mind is not for the lesson. It is about Jezz. She takes that moment while thinking for what makes Jezz changes her mind.

Until one day comes:

It happened to be a special non-working holiday in the Philippines, where all the banks nationwide are closed and all public offices, while some private sector companies are open for their businesses. Zero went to Jezz's house for a visit because he was free on that day, the same as Jezz, so the two had a chance to talk privately.

Jezz invited him into their yard with a small dining table that was made of wood as well as its four chairs. The whole area of the house is so quiet, they can only hear the birds chirping around, and the insatiable passage of the cold breeze. Jezz brings something to eat for a snack while staying in that place for a moment with Zero.

“Are you gay?’ Jezz asked Zero.

“Huh? Why did you suddenly ask that?

Zero said.

“Because I’m in love”.

Jezz said to him directly.

And Zero almost choked on drinking water when Jezz confessed to him while they were eating.

Jezz felt the cold from her hand slowly creeping towards her head and eventually it became hot, causing her cheek to blush while she no longer realized that on her own. So she had to stop eating after what she said. Zero sees the reaction in her face and he laughs out loud.

“who is that lucky guy you admired?”

Zero asks her with mixed excitement. It seems that he is interested in the topic.

This time, Jezz is having a hard time thinking, she just wants to retract what she said a while ago. She became nervous and she said to herself, “if I admit to him how I feel, and tell him that the man I want to be my boyfriend is no other than him, is it okay for him?”

“Amm, never mind. Just forget it, I just imitated by the drama series I was watching.”

Jezz said to him, to get back from admitting what she really felt, and smiled politely.

“You’re addicted to what you’re watching, what kind of genre is that?

Zero said a follow-up question.

Jezz smiled because she felt relieved, even though she had lied the truth about confessing her feelings. Jezz almost lost Zero at that time, but Zero always believes whatever she says. For him, Jezz is the only person he can trust. As friends, Zero is so close to Jezz because he is happy every time he is with Jezz, his best friend.

“Okay! I will not interfere in your personal life, but I hope you will take my advice, do what you want as long as you’re happy and always take good care of yourself. Remember! You still have a lot of sweet potatoes to eat, to be strong and to have courage as you step into the fourth year level of your courses.”

Zero said to Jezz not as a friend, but as an older brother.

“Yes Sir! I will do it in the future"

Jezz quickly answered, because she proved to herself that only Zero could give her an answer when she was hesitant about something. When she is getting angry, Zero makes her calm.

That day was like a new start for her, as she needed to train herself to stand without Zero, because as far as she knew, Zero would be temporarily apart from her when the time came.

“By the way, there's only a few days remaining before my graduation day. Maybe I should be able to receive a gift from you"

Zero said.

“Of course, come here again. I will cook a sweet potato for you.”

Jezz said with a soft voice, as she liked to do anything for Zero and hoped that Zero would notice her effort.

“Sweet potato? Zero suddenly asks.

“Yes, I know that is your favorite food, so I will cook it for you.

Jezz said. This time, her voice becomes sweet and warm.
