Chapter Eighteen

One Week later

Malhotra Office.

"How dare you cheat with me?" Manik punched the table to which everyone around shivered. Dev, Cabir and Raj too joined him so to console him.

"S..Sir..Trust me, I didn't do anything..I didn't steal the designs.." The victimized culprit said in his favour.

"Mr. Mehta, I have been trusting a thief like you for the last thirty years and this is how you decided to pay off" Manik roared like a lion but none of the men could calm him down. Maybe his lioness will be able to? Aiyappa Jaane.

"Sir..I don't know who did this..but please forgive me" Mr. Mehta cried bitterly, enclosed hands begged in front of the lion who just gave him the most dangerous look ever.

"You f***** tried to cheat with the company by giving the designs to the rivals..And you want to be forgiven" Manik punched the table again but was controlling himself as the man in front of him was elder to him.

"Sir...I didn't" Mr.Mehta was blocked by his hands as the other fingers signed in a sheet of paper.

"You are fired" Manik threw the paper on his face to which Mr. Mehta cried more bitterly "Sir, I am sorry..Please..sir" Manik buttoned his coat and went to his private lounge.

6:30 pm. He looked at his phone. Anger in his eyes. Blocked brain. He wanted now, just a thing. Her. Her arms around his hairs and chest will cure everything , he knew.

Nandini picked up the call and smiled "Hello"

"I am coming to pick you up from the hospital" He was a out to start the engine when she said "But I am home toh already" She went confused but soon her heart started beating rapidly as she heard his hoarse voice.

"Why didn't you tell me? Ohh!! Trying to drift away from me right? Because at the end I am impulsive, that's why, no?? tell me! Why didn't you tell me? Am I not important in your life or will you too cheat on me?" He shouted over the phone and cut the call and drove to his villa while Nandini collapsed on her bed 'Why is Manik behaving like this?' She cried bitterly but a word of his hit her head 'Cheat?' She wiped her tears. She needed her answers. She took permission and drove to the Malhotra Villa when she heard a *breaking sound* and the tensed ladies knocking upstairs.

"Nandini..Beta thank god you came!! He's not opening the door! He's very angry..Please dekh nah baccha"

"Sona bhabhi! Don't worry!! I will see to it, you handle Mom" Nandini knocked at the door.

"Mom it's open" She said as she entered and slightly closed the door giving a *trust me* look to the ladies while the ladies heaved a sigh of relief.

"Manik" She whispered and back hugged him who was about to have a rough drink.

Manik turned to her and hugged her tightly. She smiled in his embrace and hugged him more tighter.

"Nandini..I am sorry! I shouldn't have shouted on you..I am sorry meri jaan..Please forgive me" He said, crying bitterly to which she cupped her cheeks "If I were actually angry,  toh I wouldn't have come! It's okay Manik..There must be a reason behind this" 

"I am sorry" And he hugged her again and started crying. The tears which were in her tears too made their way and she cupped his cheeks, kissing his forehead "It's okay Manik..Please don't be harsh on yourself" 



Soon they both adjusted themselves on the bed when Manik stopped crying and was lying, with his head on her lap while she was sitting, resting her back on the headboard, ruffling his hairs while his eyes were captured with hers, smiling.

"Manik! What exactly happened?" She asked to which he sighed.

"Don't ask! You know I have seen Mehta uncle from childhood..He was so trustworthy..So humble and so close to all of us but today Aman, an employee caught him red handedly with the most confidential files..but he refused to accept the fact" He narrated to which she humbly listened.

She thought for a while "Manik! Is Aman jealous of Mehta uncle?" 

Manik made a *what* but decided to be answerable to her "Everyone is"

Nandini again thought and said "But Manik..How can you say that Mehta uncle is the thief..maybe someone had made you show that he is the thief just to break your trust" She said to which he too got into a deep thinking process.

"Maybe you are right baby" He said and looked at her "Nandini you know I saw a smirking Aman beside when I fired Mr. Mehta" 

"What??? You fired him?" She asked bewildered to which he made a sorry face "I was angry" She gave an unbelievable look and said "Manik! Call him now and if possible promote him and tomorrow confront Aman ...Urm! Wait..do it tomorrow..then both will spill the truth" She suggested to which he smiled and snaked his arms around her waist and snuggled to her to which her body senses evoked seeing him so close but she felt good.

"You know Nandini..I thought I have lost you" He said, clutching her waist tighter t owhich she pecked his hairs and said "I love you and I will be with you, forever humesha"
