The morning sun was warm on her cheek and she could feel it's fingers working the length of her body when a hand she knew all too well tapped at her shoulders.
"Dad wants to talk" Nadiah said in her morning oriented Voice.
"What is it?" Hailey's sleepy voice asked, she stretched herself on the bed feeling both tired and lazy.
"How about your marriage proposal" Nadiah gave her a smirk.
"The gods forbid" Hailey cursed from her bed snaping her two fingers twice over her head rejecting it.
"Why that, want to be a spinster all your life?"
"Your the eldest, let's deal with you first?".
"Don't make Dad wait" Natasha smirked slamming the door behind her.
Hailey pulled the blanket off her body and said a short prayer, she didnt believe in the Christian faith but it was a habit, a habit she learnt from her mother.
Mrs. Elvarus also didnt believe in the Christian faith, she worshipped all the gods she knew.
Her faith in Christianity broke a long time ago when it could not give her what she wanted.
She dragged her feet lazily to the bathroom and washed her face.
She stared at the mirror and saw how terrible she looked, her hair was undone and her eyes were drowy.
She never cared about been pretty or not, how she looked hardly ever mattered, she was just existing she could care less how she appeared.
She hissed at her look and went to the sitting room where her father and sister were waiting.
"Morning father" she greeted and took the seat by Nadiah.
"Morning love.." He responded with a broad smile.
"I called you here because I want to inform you that tomorrow you will be getting enrolled into college". he announced with a mind blowing beam.
If he said something wrong or something unbelievable, he could not tell.
Hailey's eyes strolled round the room and Nadiah cleared her throat.
"Is anything wrong?" He asked.
His eyes swiftly moved from Hailey to Nadiah, both daughters had a look he could not define.
He had been away from them for far too long, longer than he could remember.
The circumstances surrounding Ariana's birth mandated him to stay in Winter fell and he could not be with his family, he only had to make short visits from time to time until now that she had turned eighteen, it was almost impossible to read them.
"Dad are you saying college like college?" Nadiah asked.
Who would have thought?
"Yes, why? You don't like it?" He was not sure what their expression meant.
"Ahmm uhm hmm.. Dad are we going to go to college here in Winter fell?" Hailey asked.
"Yes, you will be in Carhsom college its a very nice school, you will like it". He smiled.
Hailey could not smile or say thank you, she just stared and same went for Nadiah.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Sure Dad, we just never thought we would make it to college" Nadiah answered sincerely.
"Why?" He asked.
"Only those from the noble families get to attend college in Ice town" Nadiah explained.
"Here in Winter fell it's different, there is no discrimination in the educational sector and am determined to give you both the best" he smiled.
"Will Mum and San join us here too?" Hailey asked, she hated it in back in ice town, it was lonely but here felt lonlier with the feeling of missing them.
"Your Mother and brother will join us soon" He assured them.
"Do we need to take anything with us to the school?" Nadiah took the liberty to ask.
"No, I have everything settled". It was for his baby girls, he had planned long before now.
"Let's see" Hailey sighed.
She didnt do quiet well with the concept of crowd but what could she do? This was one of the very reasons she wanted to leave Ice town.
To make new friends and have a fresh start, a different life and a better one.
School was fun or at least she knew it was supposed to be fun but it was hell in ice town for her, she could not wait to have a new experience.
She envied the way the other kids played together and laughed, it was always a sight she could not take her eyes off and each time she stared, bitter lonely tears rolled down her checks.
When their father stepped out of the house, the girls took a self tour around the house.
The house was bigger than the one back in ice town and more flashy.
Flowers were planted to decorate the building and the iron fencing it was magnificuanet, it gave the building an amazing look.
"These irons remind me of the cursed palace" Hailey muttered.
"So you know how it looks?" Nadiah feigned a mockery surprise
"Nadiah" Hailey called "Everyone does".
"You stay stuck at home so I don't think you will be listed in that everyone list"
"Thats enough for one day" their father spoke from behind.
"Father.." Both girls chorused, they didnt even notcie he was back.
"Its time for lunch and am taking you to eat out" he smiled
"Eat out?" It sounded strange in Hailey's ears, Nadit does that with Wilfred but that implies going out and eating with other people, she didnt see the need for it to be like that.
Still, the two went in and changed into something more befitting before leaving the house with their father.
Hailey's eyes went round as they toured to the eatery, it was a wonderful ride in their fathers car.
When the got to the eatery, Hailey noticed a weird look on the waiter's face, he looked like he saw a ghost when he saw her, surprisingly she could not take her eyes off him and they held each others gaze like squads on a race keeping track of each other.
"A bottle of soft drink" she said slowly not sure if he even heard her but his soft nod showed that he did.
"Oh my.." Nadiah blushed " looks like someone has met a crush". she had turned right in time to see the waiter nod at her sister.
"Crush?" Hailey asked.
"Yes a crush". Nadiah seemed fix on her phone.
"What do you mean?" Hailey asked.
"Well a crush means to like someone in some certain way" their fathers explained to her.
"Dad I know to have a crush means to like someone but who said I liked anyone?" Hailey asked looking confused.
"No one said you liked anyone" Nadiah stated still focused on her phone.
"But you said I had a crush in someone" Hailey was definite with her response.
"I said someone, I know your name and should in case I forget I would gladly refer to you with gestures" Nadiah finally dropped her phone.
"Ur statement directly implied so"
"Girls it's ok.." Their father intervened.
"Dad!" The all burst out with laughter.
"We were just having fun" Nadiah chuckled.
If there mum was here she would pretend she didn't hear them, it was their way of talking.
"Having fun?" He scoffed it was weird.
"Fun Dad, Hailey has never had normal fun" Nadiah bursted in between mouth full of vanilla ice cream.
"Why?" He asked.
"She has never been a social person".
"Hailey" he called out softly.
"I promise Winter fell will be paradise". he took an oath in his heart.
It was impossible to imagine what she went through but the few times he had been there he knew what it felt like and now that she was here, he hoped to give her a better life but was he going to make her life better or worse?
What winter fell had in store for her was not something anyone fore saw.
