Aric POV-
One of the twins guided me around the house, I can't remember which one. She had shoulder length dirty blond hair and an ugly crooked nose. Her teeth are crooked and her eyes are a muddy brown. Nothing about her screamed attractive, she looked unkempt and just down right disgusting. Her sent even smelled of unwashed linen's and hazelnut coffee. All I wanted to do was get back to Abbigail, but her step mother wouldn't let me go noticed.
"Sir Hamilton, this is my sister Lola's room," Laya, I'm guessing, said as she guided me around the very spacious second story. "This is my room, and that room over there is the sluts room."
I looked where she was pointing and instantly wanted to growl. I held back my noises of anger. My beautiful raven beauty slept in a f*****g attic and I was not okay with that. Her sent wafted to me, lavender and chocolate, f*****g intoxicating. Laya had walked a ways ahead of me not noticing me not following. I turned on my heal and walked back to the kitchen. I over heard her step mom grumbling to the other twin.
"That slut already has his attention, you two need to do better, unacceptable," her angry words reached my ears.
"I'm sorry mom, I'll make sure we impress him at dinner we have to," Lola's nasally voice a little quieter then her mom's.
"If he chooses her over either one of you, I will personally make sure that both of you suffer the same way she has," I hissed knowing neither one of these nasty humans could hear me.
I felt arms snake around me, and the sent of unwashed linens and hazelnut coffee hit me. I growled and pulled away glaring at the tiny ugly human girl.
"How dare you touch me," my voice held all my anger.
"I'm sorry Sir, I didn't mean any disrespect," she cowered down at my anger.
"What's going on here Laya, oh Sir Hamilton, did my daughter do something to offend you," Lacey Barnabee glared evilly at her daughter.
"You and your girls need to learn better hospitality," I grumbled.
"I'm so sorry Sir, I'm gonna go check on how dinner is coming along," Lacey said quickly getting ready to head to the kitchen.
"No I got it, you three decide how to make up for the disrespect I have received," I growled angrily.
I left them gaping after me, I walked into the kitchen and Abbigail tensed when she heard the door open. I noticed she sniffed the air a little, a wolf instinct, even without one. She ignored me and kept working on dinner, I leaned on the counter, close enough to touch not to crowd. After about twenty minutes of her prepping the food she turned and jumped back. I knew I would startle her but I didn't think she would be this scared this quick.
"Sir you startled me, I'm so sorry I didn't realize you were trying to get my attention," she gasped out.
"I'm so sorry Abby I wasn't trying to scare you," I jumped up sheepish for scaring her. "I was kind of enjoying watching you work, you seemed so entranced."
"Is there something I can do for you Sir," she asked avoiding eye contact.
"Actually, your mother asked for you, said something about dinner taking a long time, even though it's not even six o'clock," I said stepping a little closer to her smelling her sent.
"s**t," she covered her mouth seeming ashamed of using such foul language in front of a guest. "I apologize that was inappropriate of me. Can you please tell her it will be done by no later than seven thirty?"
I nodded and smiled at her, enjoying her little slip up with her language. I stepped out to the attached dinning room and Lacy and her nimwit twins are with her. I groan inwardly as the twins openly stare at me. I hate how girls look at me, always oogling my body and never caring about how I am as a person.
"Abigail said dinner will be ready shortly," I watched the twins eyes look at their mom cautiously.
"Fabulous that wench is taking long enough," she huffs out angrily.
"Excuse me, as far as I knew she was you daughter, why would you say something like that," I asked angrily.
"She is the reproduction of a vile woman and the man who abandoned his family, she is lucky I let her live in this home," she retorts back venomously.
"You, Lacy Barnabee, are the vile woman here, I do not respect you for treating a defenseless young woman with such hatred. Are you girls in on this," I glare daggers at the twins who's eyes shine bright with tears.
Right then a maid let us know dinner is ready and to be seated at the table. I sat at one end of the table while Lacey and her twins sat on the other side of the table. I watched as Abbigail slowly placed all the food on the table, not setting herself a place to sit. I glare at Lacey as she ignores Abbigail, and the twins just watch her with angry glares.
"Dinner is served, enjoy," she states bowing down and backing into the kitchen.
I growl angrily when I realize that the amount of food she made is all set in front of us nothing missing for her to eat. The twins look at me terrified as I throw my plate at the wall. Lacey watches me with uncaring eyes.
"You all eat in luxury while she starves," I roar at them way past control of my anger.
"She eats, just not with us, and when she is done with her chores," Lacey answers calmly.
"If she does not eat then neither do you," I throw the table causing the twins to scream in fear and food to fly everywhere.
I walk out of the dinning room into the kitchen, startling Abbigail into almost falling out of the chair she just sat in. She looks at me scared, I'm fighting back my wolf, so I touch her cheek gently. Which effectively calms me and my wolf immediately.
"I'm taking you away from here Abby, I can't stand watching them treat you so terribly," I say softly while caressing her cheek.
"I can't go, I don't know you, and momma won't let me," she whispered.
"I've been watching over you since the day your dad left, I just couldn't do anything to save you until now," I sighed heavily enjoying the tingles of our skin contact.
"I don't understand," she stepped back instantly and I instantly missed the feel of her skin.
"Please trust me Abby, let me take you out of here, if you don't like staying with me I will take you anywhere you want to go," I pleaded with my eyes, feeling them change as my wolf pleaded with me.
"I don't own anything to take with me," she whispered looking away from me,
I grabbed her chin and made her look me dead in the eyes. I felt her body relax instantly and she was agreeing to go with me. I grabbed her hand just tight enough so she couldn't pull away as I guided her out to the dinning room. I felt her stop in her tracks as we stepped into the mess I left behind.
