Chapter 11 Daniel stepped through the door and into the morning sun. Once the door was shut behind him he closed his eyes and took several long and very deep breaths, trying to get the smells of the house out of his nose. The images would be much harder to remove. What had been done to the seven people was horrific, especially as Daniel was pretty certain they’d been alive and aware for at least parts of it. And he’d learnt nothing useful. He’d managed to confirm that there had been a strong focus of dark power involved, but the horrors he’d seen would have made that almost certain anyway. Beyond that there was nothing useful.
