Chapter 5
They entered the archway and continued into the main entrance corridor. It was empty. There were no signs of any disturbance there, but the council chambers were large. Daniel glanced around.
“The main corridor would be the fastest route,” he said. “But we’ll take the corridor to the right. It’s further to go but there’s a lot fewer rooms and connecting corridors. I think it’s more likely to be quiet.”
Rownan shrugged. Daniel glanced back at Sarah, who just nodded. Mary smiled up at him. He smiled back, reminded that things could be worse. The long chase to free Mary was still fresh in his mind. While he might have to worry about protecting her now, that was much better than having to worry about not being able to protect her.
