Chapter One - Simone
I walked into the event hall feeling elegant and rich. I was an actress, a celebrity, though I wasn't yet that famous. I had been invited to a movie premiere, one produced by the highest ranked producer, Megan Marks. We don't really vibe together, but she found it necessary that I, as an actress, should attend. I was there with my manager, Joseph Ryder.
The red carpet is a symbol of elegance and prestige, meticulously adorned to create an enchanting atmosphere for high - profile events. I knew I shouldn't be here, I should be worrying about my debt to Phillip Gray, a producer in the Hollywood film industry. As guests approach, they are greeted by velvet ropes that guide them towards the grand entrance. The pathway itself, a vibrant scarlet hue, exudes luxury and sophistication, setting the stage for what lies ahead.
Floral arrangements, carefully placed along the sides, add a touch of natural beauty and fragrance to the scene. The soft glow of elegant lighting fixtures illuminates the path, casting a warm and inviting ambiance. The subtle play of lights and shadow enhances the allure of the event, creating a captivating visual spectacle.
In the background, towering banners and ornate signage proudly display the cover photo of the movie and sponsors' names and their business logos, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
Every detail, from the plush velvet ropes to the intricate floral displays, is meticulously curated to enhance the overall opulence of the event.
The red carpet is a carefully orchestrated symphony of luxury, beauty, and sophistication.
As celebrities and VIP guests make their grand entrance, cameras flash, capturing every moment of their glamorous arrival. The atmosphere was crackling with excitement and anticipation, as fans cheered and photographers jostled for the perfect shot. Joseph and I made our way to the red carpet, with the other VIPs and celebrities.
The Premiere was buzzing with Fashion statements. Celebrities from Versace, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, Marchesa and Zuhair Murad, made the whole event dazzle.
Megan Marks walked over to the VIPs and other celebrities greeting and thanking them for acknowledging her invite. She wore a deep red, floor-length gown by Elie Saab, with its intricate lace detailing, a fitted silhouette, and a flowing train, exuding elegance and sophistication. Her golden brown hair was left to flow down her back in wavy curves. Matching her elegance was a pair of chandelier earrings, and a bold cocktail ring.
She caught a glimpse of me and smiled. We had met at a fashion show the last two months, and she had said she liked my sense of humor and determination, hence she invited me to the premier and even asked me if I'd like to feature in one of her next upcoming movies. “Hey Simone Miller.” She waved at me.
I smiled at her. “Hi, you're stunning, I said.
“Hey, you're not bad yourself.” She smiled, turning to speak with other guests and actors that featured in the movie.
Then Joseph moved nearer to me and whispered in my ear. “Sim, Phillip is here.” Joseph was my confidant, and he knew what I was going through now. He knew my previous relationship with Philip and said he'd do anything to free me from his grasp.
I glanced round and caught sight of Phillip Gray. My heart raced. I turned, not wanting him to see me.
“Simone Miller?” A gentle masculine voice called.
I turned hoping it wasn't Phillip, my hair swaying as I did. The pair of blue piercing eyes that greeted me made my heart beat louder. I knew who he was.
Theron Michaelson stared at me, his face was void of any expression. How come he was here? And how did he know her?
Oh right, his company was part of the sponsors of this event, I had seen his company logo on that banner earlier.
Theron Michaelson is a stunningly handsome man, with a chiseled jawline and piercing blue eyes that seem to see right through to the soul. His dark hair is perfectly styled, framing his face and accentuating his sharp features. His nose is straight and proportional to his other facial features, and his full lips curve into a captivating smile that can disarm even the most skeptical of individuals.
His eyelashes are long and luscious, adding to the allure of his gaze. His skin is smooth and unlined, with a subtle radiance that speaks to his good health and inner vitality.
He was a billionaire and the heir to the Michaelson empire. He stared at me, noticing the surprised look on my face, and he grinned, and I noticed the way he checked me out. I wore a navy blue A - line by Adrianna Papell, which offers a classic silhouette with subtle beading or sequin embellishments, giving it a touch of sophistication. I saw him smile, though the brand of my dress wasn't a luxurious one, it still had elegance.
“Can I have a minute?” he said.
The event is ongoing, setting the tone for a night of glamour and celebration, inviting guests to step into a world where every detail is designed to dazzle and delight.
But my mind wasn't at ease as I sat in a secluded spot in the VVIPs, with a billionaire sitting opposite me and pouring Champagne into the glass cups.
“I'd have preferred a more serene and cool environment to discuss this with you. I hope you don't mind?” he said.
“No, I don't.” I tried hard to steady my voice.
“Great. Is this... am I making you uncomfortable?” He asked, perhaps noticing the surrounding aura. It was guarded and intense.
“No … I mean... yeah I feel a bit tensed about why you suddenly walked up to me and asked for a minute,” I said.
He chuckled, making me stare at him in surprise. “Well, no need to put your guard up for now. I brought you a business deal.”
My brows arched in curiosity. “What business?”
He hesitated. I let the pause linger.
“Are you interested in going into contract marriage with me for some time?” He toyed with the rims of the glass cup filled with Champagne.
I felt my ears ringing, my face flushed. If they had told me I'd meet him one on one today and even sit to talk about business with him, I'd argue. “Uh?” I got speechless. What was he talking about? “Why... Why do you want to enter into a marriage contract with me?”
“I can't disclose that to you now but if you're...”
“Why? Why did you even choose me for something like that? A marriage contract?” I interrupted, puzzled.
He hesitated before replying. “Because I believe - and from what I heard, you'll do the job well.” he handed me his business card. “If you're interested, call any of those numbers,” he added before walking out.
