“Can’t believe Simmonds and that shitass Family are in the middle of this,” said Dane as they walked. Sean was getting stronger the farther they went. “Esmi, too.”
“They lost their other wizard, remember? And I refused to help.”
“The hell are they doing?” Dane hated not knowing what was going on, hated too that it was something big, something involving cryptids, and there was an Order agent present but Dane hadn’t been informed of anything. Either they were shutting him out or Simmonds was rogue. He’d reported Simmonds he didn’t know how many times and never received responses.
“Nothing good. If they’re bringing creatures through the magic wells…the sources can double as portals. I can’t think of any implications that don’t sound bad.” Sean paused. They were nearly at the ca
