CHAPTER 13

:

Jason minds link Damien that he brought Daisy back and that she was very emotional for some reason, pregnancy hormones Damien assured him. He told him that he is heading out to buy groceries and that Daisy and him won’t come to the dining tonight and not for the entire week hopefully. Damien understood his worry about his mate so he didn't press the matter more.

When Jason was close to his house his mate's scent filled his nose and his wolf purred in delight. He open the door and screamed

“Baby I am home” but got no reply. He sniffed again and realized that her scent was fading inside the house and he knew that she wasn't here.

He mind link Damien again

“Damien.. Daisy.. Daisy is gone. I can’t find her. She is missing. Help..” he yelled into the mind link and his voice broke in the end.

“Jason, I am at the training area where you are, do you smell her anywhere?” Damien said in a calm tone.

“I am at my house…Yes, Yes, I can still smell her” he said while sniffing the air

“Then follow her scent, I am coming to find you” was all he said before shutting him out.

Jason ran out of the house leaving the groceries on the floor. He followed her scent only to find her stopping at the pack house. He grew worried, the hunter girl is inside what if she is not as good as he thought and she captured his mate. What if she had hurt her.

“Calm down, she and our pup are not hurt,” his wolf assured him.

Damien’s POV

“Alpha she is in the pack house. I am going in” Jason mind linked me and his tone indicates that he was ready to hurt someone.

I run faster than I ever did before, if Jason gets out of control he may hurt my mate.

“Go save mate,” James growled.

As soon as I reached the pack house I saw Jason standing on the door which was slightly open.

“Stay quiet” the mind linked me again and with cautious steps I stood next to him.

And then I heard the most angelic sound my ears ever heard, her laugh. I never once heard her laugh. My heart flipped from the inside and my wolf was purring with happiness. I try to focus more and I recognise Lily’s giggles and Daisy’s as well. That woman hadn't laughed since she found out she was pregnant.

Now I know why Jason decided to stay outside and not run to his mate. His mate finally was happy and laughing carefree, he didn't want to ruin the moment. Most importantly she was like that all because of my mate. I am so lucky.

“Yes, we are” James corrected him.

The laughs came to a stop and soon after Daisy appeared from the door. Jason’s body tense but as Daisy wrapped her arms around him he relaxed.

“I am so sorry baby, I thought you were cheating on me” she whisper and hid her face in the croon of his neck. Jason immediately wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer before placing feather kisses on her head. I never got jealous of them until now. How I wish I could hug my mate like that.

“I know,” James said, broken and sad.

I cleared my throat to make my presence known and I saw Daisy stiffen and pull slightly away. Jason shoots daggers at me for ruining his moment and I smile sheepishly. I am such a bad friend I thought.

“Yes you are” Jason mind linked me and then he laughed.

Daisy moved and went inside pulling Jason with her and I followed close behind. As we entered the room three pairs of eyes stared back at me but I only cared about her. Her beautiful dark brown ones, by looking at her I saw many emotions running through them but mostly sadness. Why was she sad?

She broke eye contact with me and focused on Daisy.

“It was lovely meeting you” she said in her angelic voice and she smiled. That beautiful smile of hers. Daisy smiled back at her and I could see them becoming good friends when she became my luna.

“I will have to make a call” she excused herself before kissing Lily on her forehead.

I stare at her, watching her leaving.

“She hasn't even looked at us,” my wolf whined.

I heard someone clearing their throat, Jason.

“Alpha a word with you at your office please” he said and I just nod.

I turned to go into my office and I knew Jason took Daisy with him. Maybe it was the time to let Daisy on the plan. She seems to get along with her and she can help. I need all the help I can get.

I sat on my chair and opposite me it was Jason holding Daisy on his lap. I felt extremely jealous again but now it’s not the time. I waited for Jason to tell me what he wanted to discuss but he turned to his mate

“Why did you run away?” he said and you could sense the hurt in his voice. Daisy lowered her eyes and twisted his shirt between her fingers. Something she always does when she is nervous.

“When you came to pick me up I smelled something on you, a female. I didn't recognise the scent so I thought you were cheating on me. That's why you were so eager to send me to my sister. I needed you out of the house to find Damien and tell me what was wrong because I knew you wouldn’t.” she said sheepishly only realizing how much of a fool she was. But it was cute she wasn't a fool she just care about her mate. And I can relate.

“As soon as you left I ran to the pack house only to find Lily overly excited” she said smiling from the memory.

“She was so happy that I was back, she informed me that you told her I was leaving her behind as I was going to leave somewhere else and she felt sad because I didn't keep my promise to always be by her side.” She continued without taking a breath and then turned her face to look at Jason throwing daggers on his way. He smiled sheepishly and I chuckled. She stayed silent and then she continued before me or Jason could interrupt her.
