CHAPTER 14

Earlier that day. Before Jason and Daisy went into Damien's office.

Daisy walked towards the pack house, she was trying to sniff the smell she found on her mate. She was so mad at him, how can he do this to her especially now that they are expecting a child together. When she finally got the same smell in the air she followed it only to find little Lily caring about it as well.

Before she could react Lily wrapped her little hands around her legs and started crying.

She dismissed her betrayal and focused on the little girl, she fell to her knees and hug Lily tight.

“What’s wrong Lily?” she said worry lacing her voice

Lily took some time to calm down and without looking at her she start talking in between her sobs.

“Beta.. J-Jason… said… you.. were.. leaving.. to.. stay…in..another..house..without…me.” and her sobs grew louder after that.

Daisy cooed at her and whispered to her ear that she is never going to leave her behind.

‘Meli..said..the..same..thing” was all she said and Daisy’s curiosity spiked up.

‘Who’s Meli?” she asked quickly

“My..new..friend..” Daisy wanted to know more but she gave the little girl some time to calm down first.

“Are you better now baby? she asked with a soft voice. Lily nods her head and looks her in the eyes.

“Who is your new friend?” she asked again.

“When you left, I was alone and hungry. No one gave me food and when I asked they yelled at me. One of the women in the kitchen hit me and told me I don't deserve food.” the little girl said, holding her cheek, probably remembering the slap.

“But then this new girl came and she became my friend. She gave me food, I ate in the big room with the entire pack” she said and you could see that her eyes lit up on the thought.

“But when she left Roxana, yell at me and hit me for staying to eat.” she said and to Daisy’s surprise she didn't stop. Instead she stood proud.

“My new friend beat her, very badly. I was afraid of her after that I thought I was next but it wasn't like that. She yelled to everyone that I am under her protection and if they hurt me again she will hurt them back. She is so strong Daisy, everyone is afraid of her even beta Jason.” she said smiling.

That is something I need to see, Daisy thought.

“But I think alpha Damien is mad at her because of what she did for me and she is very sad now” was all she said before crying again. Daisy hugged her again, without saying a word. She was speechless. Who was that new friend of her she wondered.

Lily sobs quite down and her little body starts relaxing.

“Do you want to go see your new friend?” She asked Lily to change her mood to a happy one.

“Yes.. yes follow me!” she said and placed her little hand in Daisy’s slightly bigger one and pulled her towards the kitchen.

Daisy’s POV

I smelled something that I thought I would never smell again. My entire body shivered in fear. I stopped running with Lily and came to a stop but Lily went straight into the kitchen. My fear for myself was not as strong as the fear that Lily will get hurt if I don't do something. I force my legs to move into the kitchen.

The smell grew stronger and I came face to face with a woman. She has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She was wearing regular clothes and she didn't hold any guns, she didn't look like a threat but they never do until its too late.

I saw Lily making her way toward hers and I growled to warn her. She slowly turned to look at me with a confused look in her eyes. I seized the hunter in front of me and with steady steps I made my way towards Lily and I slightly pushed her behind me. The hunter saw my moves but she stood her ground. I saw her examining my body and I growled more viciously when I saw her eyes focusing on my belly. The idea of her hurting my unborn pup made my wolf angry.

I felt my claws coming out, my wolf wanted to come to the surface and protect our pup. Even if she didn't make the slightest move against me, I was ready to lunge at her before she had the chance to do it. But then suddenly both of our eyes grew wide as Lily's figure appeared between me and the hunter. Lily stood protectively in front of her.

“Lily run, get out of here she will hurt you” I heard the hunter yell at Lily, worry and fear radiating off her body. She is worried that I would hurt Lily. and then everything in my mind clicks into place.

“I-I am sorry. Lily, you know I will never hurt you right?” I said now worried

“Of course I know Daisy” she said, clearly she was confused of what was happening. Completely ignoring the tension in the room she turner to the hunter

“Meli, this is my friend Daisy. She is Jason's mate.” she said and pointed at me.

“Daisy, this is my friend I told you about” she turned to me and pointed the hunter.

After Lily introduced the two females the tension in the room disappeared.

Semeli turned to Daisy and told her she meant no harm to her or her child inside of her. Daisy, for some unknown reason to her, trusted the hunter. Maybe it was the details that Lily shared with her and how she protected her and cared for her.

Daisy raised her hand for a handshake

“I am Daisy, thank you for taking care of Lily while I was gone” she then turned to Lily and smiled at her way, trusting that the hunter won't attack her now that she wasn't looking.

“My pleasure, someone needed to do it right?” she said and the both smile at each other

Semeli raised her hand to shake Daisy’s hand

“I am Semeli Hunter” and just like that Daisy felt fear spiking up again and her blood ran cold. She was Semeli Hunter, one of the most ruthless and feared hunters around the globe. Even her own kind feared her.

Semeli sensed her discomfort and took two steps back letting her hand fall .

“Please Daisy, I know what you must have heard but I am true to my words. I mean no harm to you or your unborn child” she said with a soft voice worryingly.

“I-I.. You-..” Daisy was out of words. She wanted to leave the room and run to her mate, to feel safe. And she was about to do it until..

“Hey girls, where are you?” a man’s voice was heard

“In here” Lily screamed back

Her eyes grew wide and tears formed in her eyes. The man who appeared was someone she thought she will never see again. Her savior, the one who took her out of hell and gave her one more chance in life.
