CHAPTER 15

Daisy runs to the man in front of her and starts crying in his arms. Sam was shocked but he could never forget Daisy. He wrapped his arms around her.

“Shh.. it's okay” he said trying to calm her down. And then he notice her growing belly

“Wow.. look at you, you are going to be a mother.” Daisy had tears running down from her eyes but she looked up at him and smiled.

“I guess this is the moment where you say I was right and that you have a wonderful mate” he said smiling

“Yes, he is truly amazing. You were right Sammy” she said and Semeli start laughing soon joined by Lily.

“I guess you have already met my fiancé.” he said pointing Semeli and Daisy’s body stiff.

“Don’t worry she is not the monster people portray her. Unless you call her fat..” and she couldn't help herself from smiling.

“I am not fat!” Semeli yelled but she then burst out laughing.

“Yes, yes I know you are fit” he replied back emphasizing on the word fit.

“You bet I am” she said smirking and then Daisy couldn't help herself from joining them and started laughing.

After that Daisy wasn't afraid of Semeli any more. She knew she could trust Sam and she also protected Lily and Lily seemed to love her already. They start fooling around and laughing as the tension and fear vanishes from the room. All the time in the pack house she couldn't remember enjoying herself so much and feeling as happy as she was now. And then she smelled Jason, her mate and she felt complete.

She felt ashamed of treating him like that earlier and not trusting he will never cheat on her. She went out of the kitchen, closer to where he was standing. She opened the door further and immediately wrapped her hands around his waist.

“I am so sorry baby, I thought you were cheating on me” she whispered and hid her face in the nook of his neck. Jason immediately wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer before placing feather kisses on her head.

She was truly blessed she thought and then someone broke her trail of thoughts when he cleared his throat.

Daisy finished explaining her entire morning to her mate and alpha. Damien stayed quietly until he placed both of his hands on his face, guilt eating his soul.

“What have I done… I am a horrible mate, she will never accept me now” he said with so much pain. His heart was breaking. Hearing the other side of the story made him realize that the bad guy is not his mate but his pack, she was right calling them ruthless. And he was the worst of them, instead of protecting an innocent child he stayed quiet not to be seen weak. He was truly a monster.

“What have you done?” a furious Daisy question. Damien lifts his head out of his hands to look at her. She was fuming. Jason stood protectively in front of her, she just yelled at her alpha and he feared the consequences.

But Damien wasn’t going to hurt her. He stay silent watching how calm she became after Jason wrapped his hands around her.

“Lily told me Meli was sad because you got mad at her for protecting her. Is that true?

“I-I.. No.. Yes… I got very mad at her for disrespecting my authority but I didn't mean it, I didn't know why she did what she did until now. I didn’t know that Lily was hungry or that Roxana and the others hit her.” he said and his voice was nowhere near the one full of authority they got used to. Daisy sighs and turns to look at her mate.

“You knew about this? That's why you sent me to my sister?”

Jason lowered his eyes staring at the floor.

“I send you away to keep you safe, we were expecting someone else not her. At that time I didn’t know she was Damien’s mate. When we found out and we formed a plan, I knew I couldn't keep you away from her forever. That's why I rushed us to our house” Daisy cut Jason rubbling.

“Wait what plan? She said to Jason but he didn't say a word so she turned to Damien.

“Damien, are you planning to hurt her? what plan?” she asked again, anger and worry radiating from her body.

“WHAT? No, I won't hurt my mate.” He raised his voice to meet hers. Daisy instantly calmed down hearing his words.

“Then what plan?” she asked again.

“It’s complicated,” he said, his voice above a whisper.

“That won’t do” she stated and Damien knew she wouldn't stop until they told her the truth.

“Tell her, she can help us,” James said to Damien.

“She is engaged to someone else but she can’t be, she is my mate we are meant to be together. So me and the guys were planning to break them up and make her fall in love with me” he started saying but his voice turned into a whisper in the end. He knew breaking up someone’s relationship is wrong but she was meant to be his and he was desperate.

“Wait, you mean Sam? You are trying to break them apart?” she said in shock

Jason’s body tensed and he growled at the familiarity that his mate had with that man.

“He is a bad man, Daisy. You need to stay away from him and let us do what we have to do” Jason said, trying to control his wolf.

“No he is not. If it wasn't for Sam, you and I would have never met. He saved my life you, can’t do this to him, to them, you can’t be that selfish” she yelled and her voice broke in the end.

“What?” Jason and Damien said.
