CHAPTER 9

When they both entered Damien’s office he shut the door with so much force that it shocked her. Since she came here, she didn't witness him behaving like the world described him but now it was like he changed 360 degrees. He looked like a monster to her eyes. He grabbed her arm with so much force that she flinched away. The way his eyes were changing colors scared her. She got to his bad side and this was something that she was warned not to do. He can easily overpower her and kill her. She is strong, she said to herself to calm down her heart beats, she survived the worst but yet she couldn't understand why she was feeling so weak and miserable in front of this particular beast and most importantly why she felt upset that she made him mad. “Do you realize what you just did?” He yelled angrily at her and made a step towards her while she stayed still. She will stand her ground, no one can hurt her just because he thinks she is a woman she must be a weak creature. He needs to think again. She thought to herself. “Who the hell you think you are, coming here. IN.MY.HOUSE and almost kill one of my pack members? You hunters think you are superiors but you are not.” he growled, anger radiating from his body. With an inhuman speed came face to face with her and grab her arm forcefully again. She tried to yank him away but his grid was too tight. His eyes were pitch black now and Semeli knew that his wolf was on the surface and he didn't like that she challenged his authority and the way he ran his pack. “Lily is an innocent child and since you wouldn't do anything, I did” she said in between gritted teeth. Yes, she challenged him and should have sat down and proposed a plan like she will normally do. But Lily brought up so many bad memories that she couldn't think beyond her anger. She took matters in her own hands and she doesn't regret it. “You are just a spoiled brat who think she owns the world but without your daddy you wouldn't be anything but someones little w***e. You have no authority here and if you ever do anything like that again I will enjoy personally teaching you a lesson” he snarled and Semeli could feel his claws digging into her arm. He was indeed a monster, one who clouded her judgment but now everything was clear again. She felt a stink inside her heart, one she couldn't explain. She never pay attention to what people thought about her because she knew it was a way to mess with her and make her weak but somehow his words hurt her like hell. “LET ME GO.” She screamed and Damien’s anger vanished, he turn to look at Semeli and saw blood dripping from her arm. He immediately let her go, like she was burning him. He harmed his mate. He turned up again to see her beautiful eyes again only to find her trying to hold her tears back. “You think just because you are an alpha you can do anything you want without a care to the world. I got news for you ALPHA. There are consequences and if you dare touch me again, with your filthy hands I will torture you with no end.” she said before taking a sharp breath to push her unshed tears back “You think you know me but you don’t. You have no idea what I have been through. What I did was to protect one of YOUR pack members, a child. Children shouldn't suffer, they are pure and innocent, they shouldn’t face violence in any form.” Tears start falling down her eyes. Damien’s heart ached for her, he wanted to hug her and tell her how sorry he was. He made a step towards her and she took two steps back. “D-Don’t c-come near m-me” she said in between sobs and he stopped. Semeli wanted to say more but her words remind her so much of what she wanted to say to her abuser. She wiped off her tears with her sleeve and took a deep breathe to calm herself down. She left his office and made her way to her room. Leaving Damien behind her. In a fast pace she found her room and opened the door without making any noise. No one was around the pack house and she was relieved as she didn't want anyone to see her crying. When she entered the room, the curtains were open and the moon was illuminating the room. Lily was sleeping soundly next to Sam who was hugging her. He must have fallen asleep as well, trying to calm her down. They looked so cute, like a father and his child she thought and smiled to herself. She made her way towards Lily’s sleeping figure and removed the lock of hair that was in her face. “I am sorry Lily for what you had to witness” she whispered. “You reminded me so much of myself when I was your age and I don't want you to have the same fate as mine. I promise you from now on, your life will change for the better. I will protect you, I promise little one” she whispered again and bent down to give her a kiss on her forehead. Lily moved in her sleep and snuggle closer to Sam’s arms. Sam hugged her tighter in his sleep. He was also as protective towards Lily as she was, he will make a good dad someday she thought again. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight so she climbed out of the window and head up to the roof. She sat there, enjoying the peaceful night. How much she wished she could feel as peaceful inside. For a reason she couldn't explain she felt heartbroken. No one managed to make her feel that way but somehow Alpha Damien did in a matter of hours. He is truly a monster.
