Elara's Point of View
I couldn't believe what was happening. I was so confused. Mr. Black had really shown up at Clara's school and was defending me.
"You are Mr. Black, right?" Mrs. Jenny asked. I didn't miss how she was checking him out. She was in her mid thirties and married, but I didn't blame her. It was hard not to. Mr. Black was the most handsome man I had ever seen.
"Yes, I am. And you are Ms. Gray and her sister's social worker, right?" Mr. Black asked
"That is correct. I am here because the school informed me of the problems that Clara has been having. They are concerned about her well being, and so am I," Mrs. Jenny said
"That is a load of s**t," Mr. Black replied, causing everyone to look shocked
"Excuse me," Mrs. Jenny asked
"You heard me. You say that Clara has had issues with other students, but I don't see another student here. Ms. Gray, how many times has the school called you here to talk to you about your sister?" Mr. Black asked
"I don't know a lot," I replied truthfully
"And how many times were the other students' parents called?"
"I don't know. Whenever I arrived, they were never here," I replied
"I know why that is. How many times have the other students been punished, or is it just Ms. Gray's sister who has been punished for the situations?" Mr. Black asked
"Mr. Black, we..."
"I know the answer. The only one who has been held accountable is Ms. Gray's sister. I hope you know that it is not okay to show favoritism to other students," Mr. Black said
"Mr. Black, I assure you that is not the case," The principal said
"Yes, I have been working with Ms. Gray and Clara ever since she took over custody. Not only is she doing badly in school, but their house is not in the best shape. Also, Ms. Gray just lost her job. I have reason to be worried," Mrs. Jenny said.
"Clara is on the honor roll. How badly can she be doing in school? It's obvious that there is a reason why she keeps getting into it with certain students. Clara, what happened?" Mr. Black asked, and Clara just looked at him for a moment. I was sure she was just as shocked as I was that he was there, defending us.
"I got into it with Ava because she and her friends have been messing with me. She came up to me today and kept talking about how I don't have a mom. I tried to ignore her, but she got upset and got into my face. She was about to smack me, and that was why I hit her."
"So the girl hit you first, right?" Mr. Black asked
"Yes,"
"I assume that is how it always starts," Mr. Black asked
"Yes, either they keep being in my face, saying things about me, or Elara, or about how I don't have a mom or dad. They throw things at me or something like that."
"And you never start it?" Mr. Black asked
"No. The teacher even knows. They have seen it. They never step in until I do something. I know it is because Ava's mom has money."
"So, how is this her fault?" Mr. Black asked
"How do we know that Clara is telling the truth. She could be lying. Ava and her family are very good people," the principal said
"I knew you were going to say that," Mr. Black said, and then he took his phone out and dialed a number. "I need you to get me that information as soon as possible," Mr. Black said before ending the call. "We will soon know everything."
"Mr. Black. I don't understand," the principal started to say, but Mr. Black cut him off.
"I know you don't understand, but you will soon."
************
"I need an explanation for why Ms. Gray's sister is the one who was punished for things that it is clear she did not start. Not only that, but the video shows not only teachers but also you, Principal Green, watching as the other students disrespected Clara, here," Mr. Black said.
Mr. Black's lawyer walked in about thirty minutes after he had called. He had video evidence showing Ava and her friends basically bullying Clara in front of the teachers and Principal Green. I was so pissed, and it was taking everything in me not to beat Principal Green's ass.
"Let me explain."
"Explain what? That you basically let those girls bully my sister and then called me and made it seem like she was the one who started everything? You are not fit to be a principal," I said
"I agree," Mr. Black added, and he took his phone out. "Principal Green needs to be fired immediately, or you will regret it," Mr Black said, and then he ended the call. A moment later, the Principal's phone went off
"Hello. What? No."
"Mr. Green, please. I have a family."
"You didn't care about Ms. Gray and her sister being family, so why should I care about you? Get your stuff and get out before the police escort you out."
"Let's get out of here," Mr. Black said. He held his hand out for me to take, and I took it without hesitation.
"Wait! Even though this situation has been handled, I still have reason to believe that Clara should not be living with her sister."
"Oh, really. I would like to hear your reason," Mr. Black said as he stared at Mrs. Jenny with a blank expression on his face. I could tell Mrs. Jenny was intimidated.
"Well, um. Clara has been in many altercations. There is proof that she has a very bad attitude. Also, the home they live in is not the best, and Elara is no longer working, which is a problem."
"We already figured out why Clara had those altercations. Unless you can't see, you should know the reason, right?"
"Yes, but..."
"As for the living situation and job. Ms. Gray does have a new job that pays very well. She also has a new residence that I am sure you will approve of as being a safe and nice place. I will also be talking to your supervisor. Don't think I don't know why you came here."
Ms. Jenny had a worried look on her face. "What do you mean?"
"I know that you had an arrangement with Principal Green."
"Mr. Black."
"Go!" Ms. Jenny ran away quickly
"Let's get out of here. We need to get the two of you packed up and moved."
