Elara's Point of View "I can't believe Ms. Day would say those things about you. I mean, I knew she was a b***h, but that is too much. She deserved that smack you gave her. You should have done more than that," Nancy said. Nancy had called and asked me how the interview went. I told her it didn't go well. She showed up a little after nine with snacks. When she arrived, I told her everything that had happened at the interview. "Yeah, I definitely should have hit her harder. I still can't believe, after all of that, Mr. Day had the nerve to call and offer me the job," I said "What? You didn't tell me that. You were offered the job. What did you say?" Nancy asked "What do you mean? What did I say? I turned it down. There is no way I am working for Black INC. Not after what happened at the interview," I replied "I get it, but you do need to find a job before the State finds out you were fired. That will give them a reason to take Clara from you," Nancy said. "I already have an interview tomorrow," I said "Where?" "At a bar." "A bar," Nancy asked with a worried expression on her face. "Look, I know this isn't my dream job but I need one and I would be damned if I worked for Black INC after being treated like dirt," I said and Nancy sighed "I get it. I just hate that you have to go through this," Nancy said. "Me to but I am sure things will get better. I will only work at the bar until I find something better," I said. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. "Are you expecting someone?" Nancy asked "No," I replied as I got up and opened the door. I looked through the peep hole and was shocked at who was there. "Why is he here?" "Who?" Nancy asked "Mr. Black." "What? Mr. Black is here?" Nancy asked shocked "Yes." At that moment he stared to knock again. "Who is that so late," Clara asked as she walked over to me "No one important," I replied "Answer it," Nancy said "No," I replied "MS. Gray, I know you are in there. I can here you," Mr. Black said and that causeed me to roll my eyes. "I will stay at here all day if I have too. I wonder what your neighbors would think." I rolled my eyes before opening the door. Mr. Black looked just as good as earlier if not better. I hated that I was so attracted to him. Honestly I had never been so attracted to someone before. "Are you going to invite me in or are you just going to stare at me?" I didn't even realize I had been staring at him. I crossed my arms and started glaring at him "No, I am not inviting you in," I said and then I looked at Nancy. "I am going to step outside really quick," I said "Okay, take your time," Nancy replied and I walked out of the house and closed the door behind me. "What are you doing here, Mr. Black and how did you know where I lived?" I asked "I looked at your application," Mr. Black replied. "What do you want?" I asked "Well, I wanted to know why you turned down the job offer." "Are you serious? You are wondering why I turned your offer down after you and Ms. Day basically called me a whore." "I never called you a whore." "You might as well have. You said you didn't need my kind working at your company after hearing what Ms. Day had to say about me. Why would I accept an offer after all of that?" I asked "It is a good paying job and I know you need it." "I don't need that job. As a matter of fact I already got another one." "Right at a bar." "How do you know?" I asked and he stayed silent. "Are you spying on me?" I asked "Maybe." "Well, don't. I already turned down your offer. So you can leave now," I said and I turned to walk back into the house. "Wait!" Mr. Black said as he grabbed my arm softly. I gasped when I felt the same pleasurable sparks that I felt earlier go through my body. "Look, I am sorry for what happened earlier. I know I was wrong." "You apologized to me?" I asked "Yes, I guess I did. Now you can start tomorrow at nine." "What?" I asked "The job. You can start tomorrow," Mr. Black said and I couldn't help it when I started to laugh. "What's so funny," Mr. Black asked with a confused look on his face "I already told you that I am not taking the job. What you think because you apologized to me I would accept?" I asked "Well, yeah." "Mr. Black I get that you are used to getting your way but you won't this time. Yes. you apologized but that doesn't change the fact that I have turned down your job." "You still want to turn it down after I apologized to you." "Yes. Goodbye, Mr. Black," I said before walking into my house and slamming the door behind me.
