Mindy gawks at me, confusion furrowing her brow. “You set me up.”
I watch her reaction with a mix of sadness and relief. “That’s not true. But I can"t keep living like this. You killed my mother.”
She nods slowly, understanding but not quite believing what is happening.
“It isn’t easy for me to admit, Mindy,” I say. “But you put me in an impossible position with your antics.”
