"When is she going to say yes anyway?" Marcus sighed.
The plan was originally Ed's but now when he accepted it, he can not see any progress in it. Edward tapped the table a bit harder while waiting for Liam. Edward also could not give any information since only Liam and Thea have been discussing the proposal. The incident with Thea's family made Liam reject Edward's idea but after coaxing a bit he finally agreed to rediscuss with Thea.
"Lets' wait for Liam. He is the one who holds the decision anyway." Edward sighed feeling helpless. One side his cousin and another is his boyfriend. He is like stuck between a lion and a tiger.
Liam came into the room with heaps of files balanced on his hand. He placed them neatly on the table and tried to ignore the stares that the other two were giving him. But he knew, he could not escape it. After all, Thea did agree to all this madness.
"She said yes." Liam mumbled, "Now, go through these files and stop gawking at me."
Marcus jumped out of his seat for a while and instantly sat back. He coughed and steadied his composure. Liam shook his head, he informed that they will be meeting to discuss the terms and conditions. Thea asked them to set a place to speak comfortably.
"When are we going to talk over all the conditions?" Marcus asked, feeling a bit impatient.
"She asked you to set the place and time, I'll be there with her. I think Friday would be best since you could and will finish up all your work by Thursday." Liam emphasized.
Marcus nodded vigorously. He could manage to finish all the work in this few days it's not new for him to work late. He noted mentally the preparation he should do before meeting Liam's friend. He had to prepare an official contract for this. The whole day went on eventfully as Marcus was focusing on finishing his work as much as possible.
He went home early so that he could come in early tomorrow. Just as he was to enter his apartment, he noticed that the lights were already on and there was noise coming from his apartment. As he was to open the door, he was welcomed by his sister and the rest of his family member.
"You are home early? We thought you wouldn't be here till late at night?" Mia held the door open for me as if she was the owner of the house.
"What are you guys doing here actually?" Marcus raised his voice just to have his mother pull his ears.
"Young man, aren't we allowed to visit you? That is your sister, you should probably try to remember that you have a family that you need to look after. The company you are managing would not be there if it wasn't for your late father and your brother. Do you need any more information regarding this?" Maria nagged.
"Ouch mom, mom. It hurts." Marcus wailed as he was dragged by his ear to his room.
"Get changed, we are having dinner." Maria slammed the door on his face and strode towards the kitchen.
Mia, Noah and Lily shuddered at the murderous aura that was Maria spitting. While little Adam, Noah and Lily's son was following around Maria like a kitten and mimicked her actions. Mia swiftly moved to the kitchen and helped her mother finishing up the dinner. In his room, Marcus was restlessly thinking on the purpose of this sudden visit. His mother is not a person to barge in his house for fun with the others.
Last time they met, was when she warned him about losing the company if he didn't think about marriage sooner. He shuddered thinking how awful that dinner went on. He recollected all his confidence and walked out of the room. Adam ran towards his uncle, Marcus scooped him up and carried him to the dining table.
"So, Marcus, when are you planning to introduce your girlfriend to us," Maria asked as they were eating. The others chocked on their food as they glanced from Maria to Marcus.
"Mom, I think we should give him a bit more time." Noah interrupted their staring contest.
"How much more time should I give him?"
"I'll introduce her next week."
Everyone went still. Maria coughed furiously. They were not expecting him to say this. He would always dodge this question.
"Who is it?" Lily asked breaking the silence.
"Are you sure she isn't your imagination?" Mia asked truthfully with a dubious look.
