Kane hurried to go meet his father at the hospital. His night was cut short because of the news he received concerning his father's health. "How is he Doctor," he inquired from the Doctor immediately he reached the ward. "He will be alright, what he just needs is proper rest and medication," The Doctor assured him. "Thank you Doctor," Kane said before running into the ward. Yes, he did not share a very healthy relationship with his father but deep down, Kane had this undying love for him. He always looked up to him since he was a child. "Kane?" A familiar feminine voice echoed his name as he sat alone in the ward of his father. "Veronica?" He expressed shock and anything else that was related to it. "What are you doing here?" He asked her. "What does it look like I am doing dollop head," she teased him. "I came to offer some emotional support to you." "Really?" He was surprised. "Please come in," he urged her. "You know you've never really told me about yourself or your parents," she asked immediately as she was seated. "You want to know?" He asked her. "It may be a bit disturbing for you to hear." "Please tell me," she insisted on hearing what he had to say. "Well, I lost my mom in an accident when I was four years old and it has always been my dad Caring for me since then." Kane became a bit emotional. The saline liquid was lurking his eyes. "I am sorry to hear that," Veronica rubbed his shoulder gently. "Can I hug you?" Kane asked her. "Yes, of course." She consented to it. How adorable it was for her to see Kane cling to her like a little child. "You are one of the best friends I've ever had," Kane said as he hugged Veronica. "You seem to have quite a few," she told him. They laughed. "Are you two making out beside my sick bed?" Mr. Miguel Walker was finally awake. "Dad!" Kane hugged him for the first time in a very long time. "I'm glad you are okay." "Hi Sir," Veronica waved but was invited to come partake in the warmth hug that was being shared. They got home very late that evening. Kane was so impressed with the way Veronica was fondly talked about by his dad "My dad never praises anyone like that," Kane said. "He never warms up to anyone as quickly as he did with you." "Maybe I'm just lucky that he likes me?" Veronica said in a humble manner. "No, you are very special Veronica." Kane said, he sounded like he meant it from the deepest parts of him. "Thanks Kane," she appreciated his compliment. "I'll just head to the room now." "Hold on," Kane grabbed her hands. "W - what?" She asked in a trembling voice. She couldn't keep her legs at a standstill. Her knees kept knocking against each other. "I've always wanted to say this to you from the moment I met you - you are beautiful," Kane flirted with her. "I - I am?" She did not even know what to say, that's why she asked an almost meaningless question. "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen," he continued to Compliment her. "Come here," he pulled her to himself and kissed her. "That was unexpected," she smirked. "You don't want it?" He asked her, waiting impatiently for her reply. "Is that all you got?" She challenged him. "Let's go see the room?" He asked her. "Sure." He picked her up and kissed her severally before carrying her up the stairs. "You are so romantic," Veronica giggled. That was one of Many night's she'd never forget. Three weeks passed by so quickly like the blink of an eye. Veronica had suddenly become a household name after getting married to the youngest billionaire in the City and extensively, the country. "Pass me the Jar," Veronica told Kane. "This one?" He asked with a grin. "Is that a jar?" She asked playfully. "You need to learn, there is more to just unhooking a bra," she teased him and ran off. He was going to tickle the breath out of her if she didn't escape far from him "You should be the one to teach me, you know." Kane attempted to outsmart her but she hinted at it and escaped further away. "Try your luck better next time baby." She laughed at him. Ding Dong! The doorbell rang but they didn't notice at first. They were busy with their lover's play and all that. It was on the second call that they realized that someone was at the door. "I'll go check who it is," Veronica obliged. It was the security man at the door. He handed over a very small package to Veronica. "Who is it from?" She asked him. "I don't really know, it was just dropped off by a dispatch rider." He answered. "Fine," she dismissed him and took the package inside the house. "What is that?" Kane Walker asked after he noticed what she was carrying in her hands. "A package that arrived." "For you?" He asked her. "She looked at the body of the package and paused - "it says Kane Walker." He suddenly picked interest and came up to see it. "What do you think would be inside?" Kane asked after he shook the package and it produced a very faint sound. "It's too light," Veronica observed. "I'll open it," Kane said and so he did. "Awwn, so adorable," Veronica reacted to the picture of a boy inside the little box. "You looked so cute when you were little," she continued. Kane's face was like he had seen a ghost. The boy in the picture looked exactly like Kane Walker. "I think I need to enlarge this picture and frame it," she said with great admiration for the picture. Henry was still quiet, he didn't utter a word. "Why are you so quiet?" Veronica asked him. "I'm not," he feigned a smile. "I'm just too surprised to see this." "So I should frame it?" Veronica asked. "Yes of course," do whatever you want. "Beep! Beep!" Kane's phone buzzed with a text message. "Leave it," he said immediately when Veronica tried to get the phone for him since it was more easily accessible at her end. What secret could Kane possibly be hiding?
