Chapter thirteen - Wedding time pt.1

2085 Words
Melanie's POV: Chelsea and Dylan need to sit and talk. Everyone expected that something would happen between them. They always seemed so close to each other. Natalie told us that she and Noah tried once. Things were awkward, and they never went for a second date. Now, they are best friends. Sometimes, it's not meant to be. I'm glad that all of us are still friends. I am a bit excited about Jason's proposal. Katy has no idea what will happen. I wanted to tell her so bad, but I didn't. This should be a surprise. The other thing is that they need to get married. That's why I don't know if my eyes were blurry. She might be pregnant. This belly didn't form only from food. Something else is going on. Let's pray that the dress will fit her. I didn't predict that this could happen. The good thing is that she is still in the beginning. I haven't asked her about that because she has to tell us. Maybe there is a reason why she hasn't told us. I better focus on my wedding. It's coming soon. I'm trying not to get nervous, but it will be hard when all the eyes are on me. At least this will be only for a day. I want to get my life the way it used to be. I planned a few surprises for Jordan, but in the end, I left only one of them. I think he will like this one a lot. I hope the wedding will go well, and everyone will enjoy it. Today is the day. I have been stressing about this for months. Hopefully, it will be worth it. I need to think more positively. Nothing will go wrong. Everything will be fine. My parents used to say this for the past week. Jordan did it as well. This is supposed to be about me. At the same time, I want everyone to like it. I need to stop caring what other people say. When they get married, they can do everything. I mean, the way they want it. This is my wedding. I set the rules here. Well, with Jordan. Currently, I am at the hotel with Jordan and our friends. We are supposed to get ready soon. Technically, it's like a small house with rooms you can rent. I liked the garden. This is why I chose this place. It has six bedrooms. We rented only three. Jordan and the boys will use one room. I will get ready separately from the girls. Otherwise, they will see my dress. I hope I can tie the laces alone. A week ago, I did a little angel on my back. No one knows about it yet. This will be one of the surprises today. - I can't wait to see your dress. - Katy said - You will look like a princess. Jordan won't be able to take his eyes off of you. - Chelsea said, chuckling - Girls, chill. Otherwise, she will get nervous. - Natalie said - No, I'm fine. I'll start getting ready soon. - I said - Miss Blakes. I like the way it sounds. - Katy said - It's only one day. You don't need to get excited. - What is wrong with you? We don't want the negative mood here. - I'm sorry. All this is too much for me. - Nothing and no one will ruin this. It's your day. - Natalie said - I want everyone to enjoy this. - Are you kidding me? I'm sure you did perfectly with the decorations. - Katy said - Can I know why we can't see it? - Natalie asked - Because I want it to be a surprise. - You say this for everything. - I don't want to hear the criticism. My day, my rules. - I said, and the girls laughed - Yes, miss. - Very funny. - Did you and Jordan decide about a trip? - Chelsea asked - There is no honeymoon. Stop with this. - Why don't you want to go somewhere? - Natalie asked - I don't want to travel now. I have more important things to do. - Like what? - I don't need to tell you everything. - Knock, knock. We should start getting ready. - Jason said - Sure. Thanks. One more thing. - Yes? - When you and the boys go out, one of you should tell my dad to come in. - No problem. - Thank you. - We'll leave the princess to get ready. See you soon, miss Blakes. - Chelsea said and left the girls The good thing is that I can see the garden from the window. The dress will be the last thing to do. I went for a quick shower. Then I dried my hair. It's naturally straight, but I might use a straightener. My makeup will be natural. I don't even plan to use many products on my face. After an hour, I saw the guests started coming. No one should see me. I have warned everyone. I straightened my hair and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I split it in half and put it in front. Now I wish Jordan was here. He would hug me and tell me to calm down. Soon, everyone was here. I saw they were looking around. This is about me. I heard a knock on the door. - Melanie, the boys are ready. We, too. - Katy said - Great. The boys know what to do, right? - Yes. - Good. Everyone went out. I heard my dad's voice. Jordan is probably talking with him. Nothing will change. It's only a piece of paper. All I need to do is say yes. It can't be that hard. - Hey, it's me. Don't open the door. I'll wait for you to come. Don't stress. - Jordan said - Thank you. - He left. You can come out. - dad said - What do you think? - You look amazing. - What about the color? - With white, you would've looked like a ghost. - dad said, chuckling - There is another surprise. - Which is? - This one. - I said and turned around - I like it. I think I know why you did it. - I wanted this for a long time. When I saw the dress, I knew I had to do it. - Can we go back to when you were five? - No, we can't. - You grew up too fast. - I know. This doesn't mean I will stop visiting you and my mom. Nothing will change. I'm already looking for Christmas. - Why? - Because the coffee shops need an update. - I said, and he laughed - You will kill me. I wonder when you two will rest. - Never. Dad and I walked out. Everyone was looking at me. I focused only on one person. This will help me to calm down. I don't care if everyone likes the dress or not. I do. I noticed the way Jordan was looking at me. It's better if I don't laugh, even if I want it. The priest started the ceremony. I need this to be done. At least he was short. The man didn't talk much. Jason gave us the rings. Jordan and I haven't seen them. They didn't let us. The rings had an angel wing on them. It's visible who picked them. Soon, we finished. - Jason, are you ready? - I asked - I think so. - If you screw it up, I will kill you. - Don't worry. I know what I'm doing. - Ok, everyone. All the single and not married ladies line up! - The bouquet is mine. I need it. - Cassie said, chuckling - Are you ready? - I asked and gave Jason a sign - Yes! - In three, two, one. - I said and turned around to give the flowers to Katy - What? Why me? - Turn around, princess. - What? Jason? - Since you are pregnant, I thought we could finish the game by beating the last level. What do you say? - Are you serious? - Hundred percent. Well? - Yes! A million times, yes! - Katy said and hugged him - She is pregnant! - Chelsea said - Yes. - Wait, how do you know about this? I didn't tell anyone. - I noticed your belly when we did the sleepover. This is not from food. - Girl, why didn't you tell us? Come here. - Chelsea said and hugged her - How did this happen? I don't understand. - Katy said - Your boyfriend asked for help. - When is the wedding? - Natalie asked - You have to wait. I can't plan it for five months. - I should say that our friend did perfectly. Look at this place and her. The dress is so pretty. - Jordan can't take his eyes off of her. - Chelsea said, chuckling - Who wants pictures? - I asked - Me! - Let's go. - Chelsea, can we talk? - Dylan asked - Does it have to be now? - No. - Yes, it does. Go! - I said and pushed her These two still don't talk to each other. I don't know what is going on with them. It's visible that he likes her. Dylan couldn't take his eyes off of her the whole time. I took pictures with everyone. Well, I saved the best for the last. This means Jordan. He wanted to take many of them with me. I'm sure at least one will be his new phone wallpaper. I can't believe that I'm married. I don't feel anything. Maybe that is because nothing in our routine will change. We are the same people we used to be. - How do you feel? - Jordan asked - Weird. - Why? - I don't feel anything. I mean, I'm not full of joy, and I'm not upset. I don't feel anything. - No one said that you have to. We'll let the guests enjoy it. - I think they do it better than us. - If you mean Katy and Jason, yes. - She is on the moon. - I didn't know she was pregnant. - Me either. I noticed her stomach. It was only a thought. She never told me. - Now everyone knows. - Do you think we'll get invited to the wedding? - No, I think we'll be part of this. - Correct. - Jason said - You two are officially invited. - Katy said - Thanks. - You look stunning. I'm sorry, but you need to tell me the store where you bought this dress. - I will. - The last thing I thought is that you will go with an open back. - I didn't plan it. Well, I fell in love with the dress. - Was the angel part of it? - Jordan asked - No. I wanted to do this for a long time. The dress was a sign that I had to do it now. - It looks perfect on you. - Thanks. I got it at the same place. - Is he still there? - Yes, and he remembered me. - What about me? - He did a few angel wing tattoos. The man knows all of them. - I need to visit him. - Both of us can. - Do you need to tell me something? - That will be later. Let's get ready now. - How will you walk with this? - Don't worry. I will remove a few layers. - Can you do that? - I can do everything I want. The day finally came. I don't feel special. No matter that, everyone keeps telling me the opposite. I'm the same girl who works in a coffee shop. Soon, this might change. I have planned a surprise for Jordan. He wanted an empire. This is not true, but it became a joke we used to annoy him. At least he is not getting mad about it. So far, everyone is enjoying the wedding. I can't wait to see their reactions when we go to the restaurant. Jordan and I planned everything alone. I love how the decorations turned out. Everything looks so pretty. I hope that the guests will like it as well.
